The First Date
John walked into the living rooms his fists balled up. Sherlock was facing the window playing an upbeat melody on his violin.
John cleared his throat and Sherlock stopped playing.
āEr nice Er, playing. So anyway. I was thinking itās been so longā started John āand I mean, weāve known each other so long and I mean you were my best man, best friend. You were no, are the best person in my life. And I... well Iā
āYesā said Sherlock plainly
āYou what?ā Said John shocked
Sherlock waited a moment then turned to look at John. āYou took Rosie to Mollyās this morning. You have tiny red bumbs on your chin suggesting you shaved this morning. Youāve changed your cologne to the one I said was the least intusive. Your shoulders are moving fast suggesting out of breath? No, nervousness. Why would you be nervous talking to a man youāve know for āso longā well clearly itās calling back to the very first night we met, no I donāt have a boyfriend, yes I am single like you, so yes. I accept your date proposalā
Johnās eyes grew wide, shearching Sherlockās face for signs of a laugh or joke. But Sherlock just stood watching him calmingly.
āOh... okay. Good. Good!... so. You want to meet later. 8? Bellas?ā Said John acting as neutral as he could.
āGreat, see you thenā said Sherlock turning around and picking up his violin.
John similed and clapped his hands before taking his leave.
When the door sounded. Sherlock dropped his violin instantly and pulled open the doors to the kitchen where Mrs Hudson was cupping her mouth. She put down her hands grinning at Sherlock.
āI think I need a cup of teaā said Sherlock flatly.
āOoh Iāll put on the kettleā Mrs Hudson jogged past Sherlock humming a happy tune.
Sherlock then tightened his robe and sat at the table. He opened his laptop and typed āwhat to wear on a first dateā
