Learning that Russell T. Davies likely got the inspiration for The 10th Doctor and Rose’s ending from Lyra and Will’s ending is such a bittersweet and full circle moment.

Because the founders of Bad Wolf produced those episodes and Bad Wolf got its name from that ending. Just two years after it was founded, Bad Wolf got hold of the rights to adapt His Dark Materials into a TV show and now they've produced the ending of Will and Lyra as well.

It’s so heartwarming and gut-wrenching at the same time when you think of these two endings.
