@intrepid-interloper
hi! welcome to my blog, I mostly post and reblog stuff I'm interested in which right now is Warhammer and an incredibly niche strategy game, and many other things like Dark Souls 2
So, Elden Ring & Nightreign friends. Hit me with your Libra theories. Because he is fascinating.
Does he have some connection to the Nomadic Merchants with the hand staff and the frenzy? Why is his frenzy not flame related?
He is clearly deeply steeped in Alchemy with the ideas of equilibrium, gold, the Goat of Mendes/Baphomet, etc., but I have to go to work now so I can't sit and think my way through all that atm.
I'm just curious because the way he uses frenzy (and the calculated way he seems to use it) seems so vastly different from the way it normally functions in Elden Ring (and also he is neat and keeps kicking my ass).
My very out-there theory is that Libra is from the ‘world’ of Dark Souls.
My evidence:
1) His name suits the naming conventions of other demons found in Dark Souls (Capra + Taurus)
2) The Frenzied Flame is associated with chaos. In DS lore, all true demons are born of the Flames of Chaos. I can see Libra being fascinated with Frenzy, then, if he perhaps mistook it for an ember of Chaos that he could revive for his people.
My other idea is that his hand staff (and matching hand gestures) are a nod to the theory that the Three Fingers and the Two Fingers were once part (literally or symbolically) of a whole hand representing the balance of Order and Chaos. Libra’s ‘counterfeit’ Gold is an interesting take on that balance- tho it is still corrupted.
That's really interesting about Capra and Taurus - and something I had not thought about despite all the connections to Dark Souls in Nightreign (and now my brain wants to dive down that rabbit hole of "Dark Souls is post Erdtree-burning and maybe it really is all the same universe, if not the same location").
I also really like the idea of the hand representing the Two Fingers and Three Fingers of Order and Chaos. That balance and equilibrium concept also fits well with the alchemical aspects.
Imo because he demonstrates the union of Order and Chaos Libra's existence and nature suggests that the Frenzied Flame Ending isn't the intended end point of chaos, instead it should be melded with order in true gold, though Libra's melding is imperfect as he is not a demigod / god nor gold whereas Miquella and his gold has real power such that it can remove the influence of outer gods.
This also imo suggests that all of Elden Ring's Endings are incomplete While the Goldmask Rune fixes the interference of the Outer Gods, it does not fix either the Omens or Those Who Live in Death and vice versa with the other 2. For the other main 2, Ranni effectively removes the God of the Order (Herself) and her Elden Lord (The Player) from the planet so they can't interfere like Marika and Radagon did though not really much else and the Lord of Frenzied Flame seeks to incorporate the Three Fingers and the Flame of Frenzy into the existing order, though is incomplete as either is too much Chaos without order and also the Lord of Frenzied Flame will be just murdered so is probably incomplete anyway. Imo Libra kinda lends evidence to the idea that the Frenzied Flame was excised from the Order, whether it was by Marika or Placidusax before her probably doesn't matter, though we would probably know if it was Marika.
Technically less of a Libra theory but thinking on Libra's duality and what was said about the 3 fingers being originally part of the 2 fingers as a full hand made me think of this. This kinda makes me think we could get an Elden Ring sequel eventually, none of the endings actually "fix" the world fully.
ASTONISHING BUGSEX PHOTO
please make sure to tag photos like this mature, honestly it's inappropriate, think of the bug children
i hate how pervasive the r-word has become again
its like the 2000s to early 2010s again where talking to anyone theres a good chance they'll casually say a slur without any thought
and whats even more annoying now is people who'll try to weasel out of being called out on it
'oh its fine because i'm legally mentally disabled so i can say it' NOT HOW RECLAMATION WORKS
AND SAME WITH DEGENERATE
STOP TALKING LIKE A FUCKING NAZI
the thing about that weird stuff americans call cheese is that if you heat it a little it becomes an excellent burger condiment despite its failings in every other area. such is the fate of the american cultural product
the American 'cheese' slice was engineered by our best scientific minds (all borrowed from Germany ofc) to melt perfectly onto a burger and for nothing else. Its only purpose is to compliment the one true product of the American people. The hamburger. (also borrowed from Germany)

like i have nothing against gta 6 nor most of the people working on it (but fuck the company) but i do genuinely hope gta 6 flops
because gta 6 more or less represents the status quo for the games industry. anyone who has been paying any attention to the games industry can see it is currently collapsing: the industry is haemorrhaging workers who are taking with them their knowledge and expertise leaving the industry with people that have little to no knowledge of what they're building, people are being given higher workloads and less time to do them not helped by the push for AI in workplaces, games are being made worse to incentivise players to spend more money than they may already have coupled with the cost of living crisis, and the time of creative games with middling budgets is well and truly over, its all indie darlings struggling to be seen on overcrowded store fronts or blockbuster live service games slated to make billions
gta 6 represents all of this and more, and its success would signal to the industry that, despite all these problems, everything is fine and the games industry should continue as normal, that no matter what it's fine to spend more than one billion dollars on a game because despite it all, money will be made
HR has been taken over by a worm parasite and made a gun out of worms that fires worms so thats fun
was reminded that blond people are not real and were made up for elden ring the other day. what a relief
there has always been an element of horror to souls games but sometimes fiction goes a little too far

North Korea sends troops to wage war in Europe. Iran sends Shahed drones and missiles to Russia to wage war in Europe, and IRGC trainers to Crimea to show them how to use the drones. China helps Russia evade sanctions to wage war in Europe and now, per Reuters, even trains Russian troops to wage war in Europe. Ukraine hits one Iranian cargo ship carrying military equipment and suddenly wars are merging and it might even be World War III. Cmon.
my recent trouble with unreal's common ui and editors has really taken the wind out of my sails, and i've started eyeing up one of my other game ideas
i mean, its certainly more interesting than the current game i'm working on, and it may be relatively easier on the ui side so 👀
i think if i ever tried developing for a console as old as a gba i would evaporate instantly
You could wait for the Unreal 7 with cool new scripting language
unreal 7's cool new scripting language: tell claude what you want and get dogshit ai generated code that doesn't do what you want at all and you can't edit it yourself you have to tell the ai what to do to change the code
thats assuming epic survives to make unreal engine 7 which at this point who knows, the company is haemorrhaging employees and the ceo is becoming increasingly disconnected from reality
unreal engine 7 may be an absolute dumpster fire (moreso than unreal 6 has already been despite not even being out yet) or they could very well pull a sims 4 'we're not making any more stuff we're just gonna keep updating this as our strong foundation' with unreal 6
