I still can't believe that fuckin Elmo is a culture war flashpoint. Elmo from fuckin Sesame Street. The little red motherfucker who teaches kids about sharing and shit. Elmo'll be like "Elmo hopes everybody has a nice day today" and grown ass adult people get just incandescent with rage and roll around on the floor yelling and crying
you can be a shapeshifter but once you change your shape you need to remain in it for at least one week taking the deal?

From the media that brought you "Millennials are killing [insert industry here]" articles for years and years and years, now we have....
"Hey, Gen Z, we're gonna relabel vacations into something else now and tell you how you really should be wary of taking vacation because it might impact your financial future."
This is a goddamn dystopia, we know this, right?
REGRET TO INFORM YOU YOUR SON HAS DIED FROM TRENCH FOOT LOL HE SERVED WITH COURAGE AND HONOR LOL PLEASE ACCEPT OUR DEEPEST CONDOLENCES LOL
Actually you SHOULD make problematic content. You SHOULD explore dark or taboo topics. You SHOULD have a space where you can cope with your traumas or explore sensitive topics in a way that doesn't hurt anyone.
Also you should make problematic content for funsies. You don't need to have had trauma or need to be coping in order to explore dark creativity. You can just be a human who wants to explore dark and taboo topics because you want to. That's completely normal, btw.
Every single person on this planet thinks about dark and taboo things. It's literally the most normal thing in the world.
Go draw the horror porn and be free.
we should all be more like david cronenberg and write fucked up stuff. For Funsies
the biggest smoking gun in "transandrophobia truthers are just terfs with a baby-blue layer of paint" was when they started telling us that it's obvious and goes without saying (or statistics) that trans men experience more sexual violence than trans women, because "they're seen as cis women" -- obviously this is incredible offensive, transphobic nonsense no matter how you slice it (they're basically saying 'who'd wanna rape a tranny?') but it's just even more baffling because it's very very much on the record that trans women experience more sexual violence than cis women.
all is revealed by just how angry transmascs get when you tell them we have always had it worse than cis women. like, why do you even care except to disempower transfems?
Three things have happened in my local trans community in the past month:
A transmasc drag queen made a call-out post about how a newly-out local trans woman is a sexual predator. (The sexual offence was that, 6 years ago, before she came out, she was at a drag show with the drag queen (who was her friend at the time) and joked that the drag queen's makeup looked a bit like semen.) The trans woman spiralled, got drunk, got hit by a car, and is currently in hospital.
A newly-out trans woman and a trans man met at a local trans support group. They decided to meet up again at a local pub. She apparently asked questions about his transition that he considered invasive, and in a voice that was too loud and risked outing him to other people in the venue. She now faces being banned from the support group.
The only trans woman who volunteers to run that support group is being kicked off the team by the trans man who is in charge of it. The reason is that she once told the guy in charge to "stop talking" when he was giving her several instructions at once, and also that a different transmasc volunteer has said they find her "creepy" and don't want to be alone with her.
All three trans women are autistic, isolated, and don't have much practice with irl socialising. Maybe they're a little bit loud, maybe a little bit abrasive, maybe they misjudge the appropriateness of sexual comment to a friend at a drag show, maybe they're too keen to make a new friend that they get excitable and speak too loud and ask too many questions, maybe they get overstimulated by being told too many instructions and need you to stop for a second to give them space.
Maybe their behaviour that you consider weird and unsettling is actually a trauma response to a childhood and adolescence of isolation and bullying.
And you know what the funny thing is? I have been sexually harassed at a drag show by the drag queen in (1), who was performing and making sexual jokes about various people in the audience. I have been in a public place with the trans man in (2) while he asked me loud invasive questions about my HRT regimen and about child abuse I suffered. And I have been misgendered and deadnamed repeatedly by the trans man in (3).
And do you know what I did about any of these things? Nothing, beyond saying "Hey, I'd appreciate if you don't do that next time 👍 No hard feelings 🙂". Because, not only am I aware that people make mistakes, and I consider trans men and transmascs a vulnerable demographic and it would be a totally unjust overreaction from me to attempt to socially isolate them for these offences.
But also, I don't have the social power to do anything about these things anyway, even if I wanted to. My normal response to experiencing even serious abuse at a queer event is to simply stop attending it, isolating myself, and perhaps telling a few close friends about it. Because I already know that my complaints will not be taken seriously.
Trans women are being isolated irl every day for behaviours that other demographics can do with impunity. They are not given any grace, any benefit of the doubt, any second chances, and complaints about even the smallest offence will be taken seriously and escalated. And they will not be able to fight back, because a trans woman who fights back is just confirming all the bigoted assumptions that the wider world already has about her.
It is in the interest of regressive groups, such as TERFs or transandrophobia theorists, to posit transfeminists as a majorly white group or as outside agitators. This is the same tactics used by conservatives, you either say that the oppressed group is actually in a position of privilege or that they aren’t part of your community.
Well, they are right about one thing. I’m not in community with either of them. That’s not because I’m an outsider agitator to tumblr, it’s because they’re trying to position themselves as the victims all their lives even as they use their power over trans women to oppress them.
"who cares who has it worse" is truly something that only a privileged person could think
It’s 9 March in Japan. Happy Birthday Testament!!!
I drew Bridget Guilty Gear kissing them in the cheek. She made them a cake and a piñata. They are so cute and gay together~

Happy Birthday Testament!!!!!

Kind of hate it how people act like Zelda is one of the queerest video game franchises out there, solely because Link is androgynous cause like. Welcome to queer Zelda moments we have
1. Orientalist crossdressing (played as a joke)
2. A MAN who pretends to be a WOMAN so he can get into WOMAN ONLY SPACES (also played as a joke)
3. A flamboyant gay man who wears makeup and pink and moans every line (played as a joke as well, but don't worry! It's a reference to Ocarina of Time's homophobic stereotypes! Nostalgic!)
4. Sidon and Link? (okay you guys are just making stuff up now)
"scroll back up!" and it's a painting which you clocked as a painting immediately
For a brief second I thought this was part of the previous post on my tl and the car onions were the painting in question </3
scroll 📜 back up! 🆙☝️ there's onion 🧅 and garlic 🧄 in the car seat 🚗💺
Does he have "nonbinary vibes" or is he just east asian
Important addition
So to be 100% clear:
tumblr just added an update that requires you to verify your age in order to view "mature content". I'm not sure how they do the verification (haven't yet checked), but given recent similar updates from things like Discord, it most likely involves sending them a photo of either your face or your ID.
In addition, over the past few months, and also years in the long-term, tumblr has been incorrectly marking things as mature content. These include:
Notifications about missing persons and requests for help
Posts about youth liberation
Posts about sex education
Posts about how the mature content is poorly implemented
Posts about being trans, more specifically about trans women and transmisogyny by both tumblr and users on tumblr
Non-sexual selfies by trans women/transfems
Trans womens'/transefems' ENTIRE BLOGS even if the blog contains no sexual content
Reblogs made by various blogs, mostly trans women, which add no additional content but somehow are marked as containing mature content, when the original post is not
Posts talking about racism and antiblackness both on and off tumblr
Posts by black people, especially black trans people, that are non-sexual
And likely many more I haven't seen
In essence, this update has mandated that a majority of users (within the UK and Brazil) must either a) submit their personal information to tumblr, a website whose moderation has been EXTREMELY biased against marginalised people and who I would not trust with my ID, or b) be excluded from absolutely all conversations tumblr decides are "mature content", whether they are actually sexual in nature or not. Furthermore, anyone not over 18 will also not be allowed to take part in these conversations, or even see them, or interact with many trans women or people of colour on this site, as tumblr decides.
This update is complete bullshit designed to censor and exclude marginalised people, poorly hidden under a guise of "protecting teenagers from sexual content", and they know it.
EDIT: This update apparently only affects users in the UK or Brazil, like me. This is still bullshit even if it's just some people.
