it's so crazy how you actually have to live through everything
Mary Oliver, from "Starlings in Winter"
Love that Deke Shaw was introduced as this somewhat cunning, a little bit cutthroat survivor out for himself, and then the minute he was free from his oppressed dystopian future he flipped a switch and was like "finally I can be the lovable idiot that God intended me to be".
Yeah, it's time to get this post out again
The haunting ancient Celtic carnyx being played for an audience. This is the sound Roman soldiers would have heard their Celtic enemies make.
Man if I heard that shit while descending upon a strange land with my brethren I'd straight up dig a hole to die in right the and there, fuck the emperor fuck the gods that's a warning straight from the bones of an older evil and whatever is coming is worse than death
how are you people alive.
theres an old cold war joke that goes like this: a KGB agent and a CIA agent meet up for drinks off the clock, and after a few drinks they start to talk shop. the CIA agent extols the strength of the Party's propaganda, "All your citizens believe the propaganda! it's incredible! So little dissent." and the KGB responds, "No my friend no, we are good at what we do, but you are the true masters of the art. No one at all questions your propaganda!" to which the CIA agent says, confused, "What do you mean? We don't have propaganda?"
how did a woman manage to date elvira for 19 years and not tell every single person she knows
my utopia
The drag queen from this photo has spoken up about the photo.
I won’t speak for all liberals, but I’d like to see a future where it isn’t a big deal for a woman in full modesty garb to sit next to a drag queen in NYC. It’s become a bit of a sensation, but her and I were just existing. The freedom to simply be yourself in a sea of people who aren’t like you is a freedom we all deserve.
The central irony is that this isn’t some hypothetical future–it’s just present day reality. This is a picture of two ordinary people going about their normal lives despite how haters want to politicize it lmao. So the underlying message is not “future liberals want” it’s “people conservatives want to eradicate”

taskmaster series 7 absolute goat. rhod bringing in a naked picture of greg for every prize task except the fez one, where he brings in a picure of greg's mum in the bath. james acaster circle task. greg brawls in dog jail, think bail, failing ol'dog death. A LIME! alex not knowing a single thing about greg's personal life, and rhod packing out the story of how greg shot him. actually, all of rhod's personal anecdotes about greg. someone mentioning phil's genitals at least once an episode. rhod rubbing mustard in his eyes. rhod duckttaping his eyes open. with these tasks, you just panic, it's blind panic! it didn't look like panic to me, it looked like fairly structured torture! i think we learnt a lot more about you than we did about me. well, we did learn a bit about you. pants on a stick. you couldn't hold me upside down. phil establishing in the first episode that he's got an engineering degree, and immediately fucking over the tower building task. you're measuring the juice as a part of the bean? greg, i don't think even you believe this. look at your face! james having a breakdown over the garage being available. first episode, what did you bring in, james? mc hammer. rhod dropping a pile of dogshit on his friend of fifteen years. james acaster gta sequence. jess having a better impression of an airhorn than of her fellow contestant. funny who you're prepared to bend over for, isn't it? aw oh but oneofthem's my fwiend!!!!! greg taking james to the side after he called him a pussy.
"AoS s1 is so boring, half the episodes are bad--" TALK TO THE FUCKING DATA
Imagine delgado!master and fifteen with a similar dynamic to the one with 3. Except 15 is not afraid of telling everyone out loud that the Master is his ex who is only doing that to get his attention. The Master is very mad about this. Kate would just be like 'yeah my father used to have some suspicions'. And if Jo were to be there for whatever reason, she would say something like 'was it supposed to be a secret?'.
girl who handles her guilt and grief in normal ways

In 2017, American film researchers recovered “Something Good – Negro Kiss,” a short film depicting a playful kiss between a Black couple which had not seen the light of day for more than a century. A long-forgotten artifact from the earliest years of American film, the sweet, humanizing vignette, produced by the Selig Polyscope Company, makes a startling contrast to the overwhelmingly racist and blackface-ridden contempory portrayals of African Americans. Four years later in 2021, archivists in Norway, halfway across the world, identified a sister short in their collections—an extended alternate cut which reveals more of Chicago stage performers Gertie Brown and Saint Suttle’s vaudeville-like routine, a theatrical, hot-and-cold romantic dynamic between two lovers which parodies the popular and controversial short “The Kiss” (1896). Both films, which had previously been lost, were known from entries in old motion picture catalogs but had been assumed to be era-typical, anti-Black “race films” until their rediscovery in the 21st century. Together with its more famous sibling, which has since been inducted into the Library of Congress’ National Film Registry, this alternate version of “Something Good” represents the first-known instance of Black intimacy ever captured on-screen.

don’t tell social media if you went to protests or not(especially if you didn’t), don’t give cops an easy way to track down protesters. punk life advice
