I think I am throwing around enough excitement for me and her both. XD She’s terrified, which I understand, but she has no idea how proud I am of her to do this. So I wrote a book. It’s a straight contemporary romance, original not fanfic, but I thought some of you might be interested anyway. It’s still very much in my style, deals with similar themes.

Greg wanted Sherlock, he knew he did. But he said no anyway. He was smart enough to not jump the bossy drug addict on sight. Especially not when Greg had his own problems. Not that his drinking was a problem. Because it wasn't. But there was always tomorrow.

Mycroft operates under the assumption that his life is fine. Sure, he picks up strangers from bars and screws them senseless without learning their names. Sometimes he picks fights with his little brother under the guise of caring. Maybe he drinks a bit too much. But everyone has their problems, right? And he has his completely under control. Until he doesn't. When Sherlock starts working under Detective Inspector Lestrade, Mycroft arranges his obligatory meeting. Just a quick vetting process and they can go on their merry way. But it doesn't go as he expects, because that wasn't the first time they had met - the first time was four days ago. In his bed. And Mycroft doesn't do repeats - does he? Broken and shut off from the world, Mycroft and Lestrade eventually - sort of - fall into an arrangement. It's not talked about. Not official. Neither would admit to it. But neither would give it up, either. What happens when it starts to become more? What happens when two broken people decide to see if they can become whole?

First chapter of the first fic under this name. :D It’s angsty, be warned, but with an eventual happy ending. …maybe very eventual. Please be sure to read the tags/trigger warnings!! Enjoy. :)

Despite other people and their fascination with finding their soulmates, Mycroft has abandoned any idea of finding his 'Second', not after the traumatic death of the first person that was supposed to love him. And then Detective Inspector Gregory Lestrade walks into his little brother's life, and Mycroft finds himself unnecessarily fascinated.

Epilogue Preview

Under the read more, in case people want to avoid spoilers:

He stood in front of his wardrobe, sighed, and opened it. He picked out jeans, a comfy shirt, and lingered. Underneath his folded clothes was the note, the suicide note. His baggage. He sat aside the clothes, picked up the note, studied it. Read the familiar words, felt a small flash of guilt - and an even larger wave of relief that the man who wrote it was gone.

Part of that made him feel even more guilty. How could he be relieved over the death of someone else, someone who had loved him at some point? But Jack was long gone, long dead - and he had someone new in his life. Wasn’t it okay to move on, to put the past behind him?

His hands lingered over the tattered edges of the note, smoothed them out. It was wrinkled from reading it so many times. Fragile, almost. He picked it up, considered it. Then ripped it in half, ignoring the flash of cold that went through his body. Fear, guilt. Another rip, then another. Until the once-revered note was small pieces of paper scattered all around the carpet.

It was over. The past was gone, shredded as efficiently as the shards of paper that surrounded him. Jack’s memory would linger, remain - but Mycroft would no longer allow it to control who he was and who he loved.

It was an odd sense of freedom, a sense of relief, of joy. It was something he had never felt before and wasn’t quite sure what to do with. He swallowed, and bent down. As nice as it had been, now he had to clean it up.

“Let me help.” Greg’s voice startled Mycroft, and he nearly tipped over from his bent position.

Plan of Attack

Hi all.

So if you missed my last post, I’m happy to announce that I’m back in the fanfic world for the forseeable future.

To ‘celebrate’, I am releasing what is technically the final chapter of A Missing Piece. If you happen to see it on AO3, you’ll notice it shows ‘14/16′ chapters now. The chapter that I’m releasing this weekend is chapter 15.

Then there will be an epilogue - cute/fluffy/sexy/sweet - in about a month.

In two weeks I will probably start something new - maybe something chaptered, maybe a series of one-shots. I haven’t decided.

Why not finish some of the things I’ve started?

Well, over the year I’ve been gone, I’ve written probably 300k or so and my writing style has drastically improved from where it was even when I left. Additionally, it’s improved so much from where most of my ‘hiatused’ series were started that I cringe when I read the opening chapters.

In fact, I almost considered starting a whole new name, but since I didn’t want to abandon all of the people that have followed me under this one, I decided to keep it.

If you have suggestions or fics or pairings that you want to see me write, leave a comment here or send me a message! Even if I don’t do a long-fic, a one-shot is a definite possibility!

I’m back!

Hello all! It’s been quite some time, hasn’t it.

I’m still working on my original stuff in the background, but I’ve missed fanfic and decided to come back for a bit.

My goal is to post something every two weeks. Whether it’s a chapter, or a one-shot, or whatever, it will be something.

An Important Update

Hi all,

So I’ve been doing some thinking lately and come to a very difficult decision. As much as I still adore parts of the Sherlock fandom, I don’t think I’ll be able to write for it anymore - or continue writing fanfic in general. As much as I am sad to leave, it is the best decision for me.

I want to sincerely thank all of you for following me and my stories for so long. Every single kudos and comment and like has brightened my day. Writing as much fanfic as I have, and getting all of your feedback, is what has given me the confidence to move onto the next step in my life.

If you’re interested in what I’m working on next after leaving fanfic, I am hoping to eventually support myself writing full-time and publishing original stuff. You can find my blog here, my list of projects here, and then the writing/inspirational tumblr blog I share with dreigiau here. I’ll primarily be writing a mixture of LGBTQ urban fantasy romances, and then more traditional fantasy/sci-fi with queer characters.

I would like to extend the invitation to all of my lovely followers (and anyone who sees this who knows my stuff) to ask anything about my fanfic that they want. What would have happened? What did I have plans for? Anything and everything that you guys want to know, I will answer - about any of my fics. If you have any questions about my original stuff, feel free to ask that too. An Important Update

Update

Hi all,

I know I’ve been pretty quiet lately, on many fronts. As some of you know (or may remember), I’ve started writing more original stuff, with the goal of eventually self-publishing and maybe even supporting myself with that income someday.

As a side effect of that, I haven’t been writing much fanfic at all.

Now that I finished the rough draft of my first novel, I finally have the comfort level with original stuff to start integrating a bit of fanfic into my life. With that in mind, I am hoping to slowly finish A Missing Piece. I can’t make any guarantees, as it will be written at the end of a day when I’ve hit my daily WC quota, but my goal is to finish it. I’m about halfway through chapter 15, with maybe 3-5 chapters to go.

To make up for the projects that I won’t finish, I’m encouraging all of you lovely people to send me messages asking questions about whatever fic you want. Inspiration, how I was going to end it, why I decided things a certain way - anything and everything you want. I’ll tag it all as #spoilers so people who don’t want to see it, don’t have to.

Next I’m going to take this time to also discuss a bit about what I’m writing, original-wise, since I think the themes and the tone of it will be of interest to some of you.

A lot of what I’m planning to write is at least vaguely similar to what I wrote in fanfic - queer (primarily lesbian) romance, primarily urban fantasy, and then there’s some more mainstream sci-fi/fantasy with some characters who happen to be queer. For example, the series I’m currently working on is inspired by the fandom concept of a ‘soulmate AU’, and it basically explores what happens when soulmate bonds or people’s desires don’t correspond with society. If you’re interested, you can find the summaries of what I’m working on here. You can also sign up for a newsletter, on the sidebar on the right - starting on March 1st, I’ll be releasing short stories every two months for free until the release of my first novel.

You can also find me here, where my friend Amy and I dish out writing advice, tips and tricks, and basically try and inspire other writers like ourselves, both fanfic and original.

Annnnd ch14 of AMP has survived its first round of edits. Sending it to my lovely beta dreigiau and getting back to work on other projects.

Thanks everyone for hanging in there! I'm hoping to get another update or two out in the next month, but I am prioritizing what I'm hoping will be my future career (and the other thing that will be my backup career) over something that I do for free and for fun. :) So I'm sorry about that.

(I do think this chapter will be worth it...it's a doozy!)
