My thoughts...

• This team, over the last six years, misses Sam Mewis. Her leadership. Her tenacity. Her size. Her heart. Lindsey cannot and has never been able to do that on the Intl level like Sam did.

• This team needs a GK they believe in.

• Sure, go play overseas. But it would be nice if the kids didn't come back home in a body bag. Too much mileage and dare I say sub-standard care? Y'all broke Lindsey and Cat, now you're messing with Nay and Sam.

They weren't gonna let their trophy finalists not be on that team. I love Tara but if you watch Sonnett playing next to these kids you'd see her saving their asses constantly.

I'm so sick of it. If you want to compare players side by side you needn't look any further than NT games. Sonnett has to cover some of these finalist's a**es constantly. It is so obvious how much she's progressed yet she gets zero respect.

Is this a media selection process? If so, I get it. Some (especially social media) "journalists" never have ANYTHING good to say about her. She doesn't get any props and only receives criticism and has since 2019.

It's B.S. and they should be embarrassed. (and the lack of defenders on an MVP list is so pathetic). Believe it or not, Naomi Girma isn't the only great defender on the planet.

Let's be honest...Gotham was never an 8 seed. I'm delighted, though.

This is what I hate about soccer. A team can have the ball in the offensive zone for three days and not only can they not score, they don't even freaking shoot.

This is a big reason why so many US sports fans don't watch soccer. There is so little return for your patience. Momentum rarely manifests itself into results.

This is why I'm a Sonnett and Howell fan. They aren't afraid.

Also...referees can just go to H with the lectures after fouls. Get over yourself. If you ignore player protests over non calls you can shut up when a player doesn't genuflect to you.
