OK I've seen alot of the online discussion around the new Gamoverse piolt revolving around the idea that the show has poor female character design

Now I'll say it is true Kit and Miss information do have quite similar body types though not identical. This is an unfortunate thing and I hope future female characters are more varied but crab girls existence tells me there not opposed to non humanoid female characters. Im actually unsure if Gamoverse is primarily 2D or 3D animated so im leaving out specific arguments

However I dislike that some people are presenting this as an active misogynistic choice by the creative team and not an unfortunate systemic trap cartoons have been falling into for decades. A trap the previous glitch cartoons ( besides murder drones but every character in that show shares a base model and i haven't watched it all and don't plan to) have avoided and shows like Steven Universe and Gravity falls challenged out right

And before i move on yes both characters were in bikinis the entire episode and that's objectively fanservice, it's objectively sexulizing the characters but it does not cross the line to objectifying them as to me nothing felt gratuitous though others may disagree. I think this criticism could have been avoided if Gobbles and Dold were also wearing beach outfits. I think people found this jarring because the other glitch shows choose to be very sexless in their pilots at least explicitly tadc grew more mature as it went on and I feel gaslight district will be the same and Knights of Guinivere has a lot of sexual undertones. Alot of the discussion around Gamoverse's fanservice especially on tiktok genuinely gets into sex shaming territory and I don't like that.

Anyway exhibit A The Dc animated universe here's some character models for female characters in the dcau ( disclaimer I do not know if these are all official but there still useful)

Here's another image from specifically the new batman adventures and it shows the difference of design pylosopy between male and female characters

The fact most of the women have the same pose helps make my point for me.

Exhibit B spectacular spiderman a show I love.

And here's where all say this is kinda aknledge this is a dismissive angle of criticism "all female characters have the same body type = bad character design" I reject that framing Gamoverse, Spectacular spiderman and the dcau have finomominal character design, character body's are a tool to tell ther story Just as much as their clothes a tool most designers don't take advantage with female characters as much as they do with male characters. All artists are subject to the same systematic societal beauty standards and expectations of what a female character should look like some artists realise this and make the conscious choice to break this trend some don't.

Sorry for rambling unueanced media takes really get me going and also character design is my autism.

Man Theon really is and idiot fail son ( to both his dads) if only he kidnapped those children and brought them to his dad's island fortress with all their belongings and killed their dogs than his father would have been proud of him. All my life i complained there was no comic store in my home town. I was told recently that the record store in my town has always sold second hand books so overall the last week I've been collecting issues of Gerry Conway's 2016 Carnage run because the cover art was cool and because they had a lot of issues in stock. Also pretty affordable

Unfortunately they do not have a lot of consecutive issues so I kinda have to jump a bit they were missing issues #1 but the stories include summerise so I've been good so far. I was jump scared when i opened issue #5 and Eddie Broc was "Agent Toxin" that was strange but this was During mack gargan venom era i think.

Anyway so far the story hasn't been nothing major so far is like that's it's kinda trying to be a classic slasher comic with the inclusion of man wolf and accult stuff, id like a little more character work with Eddie and Cletus but I am missing several issues so I can't really make an informed criticism

Elaborate fantasy and sci-fi worldbuilding as necessary context and structure for porn is great, but what's really fantastic is when the worldbuilding is a product of the porn. It clearly didn't need to be there, but at some point the author took a closer look at the porn and started asking "okay, so what does this imply?"
