Never really put this together before but...
Aang from Avatar the Last Airbender is basically Gohan from Dragonball Z‘cept with less traumatic death battles shaping his childhood.
think about it,
1. both of them are naturally and inherently RIDICULOUSLY powerful with ABSURDLY high ceilings. Aang is the Avatar, the one person who can master all four elements and possessor of the cataclysmically powerful Avatar State. , and Gohan’s got his hidden power, (take away training as a concept and Gohan is the most naturally powerful person in the series, to the point where 5 total years of training took him past Goku and Vegeta, who had both been training for decades at that point)
2. their sheer kindness and open-mindedness play an integral role in both cases of turning a brooding, aggressive potential enemy into an absolutely vital ally who becomes something of a mentor to them. (Piccolo and Zuko).
3. their strong pacifist ideals despite their obligated involvement in combat situations which are out of their control, which both culminate in major battles for the fate of the world (where they shoulder all the responsiblity due to their role as the most potentially powerful person on earth). with their abject refusal to commit to killing or greivously harming their opponent nearly costs them both dearly only for them to snap into a state of all-powerful emotion and wipe the floor with their adversary. (battles with Cell and Ozai)
4. they’re both profoundly intelligent, open-minded and insightful. typically uncharacteristic for warriors on a battlefield, and atypical for ‘powerhouse’ characters.
