Bella Notte [Namine & Isa]
“Well, we’re not related, he’s not REALLY my brother,” she corrected mildly, not hearing the disappointed questioning in his voice. She wasn’t picking up on the fact that he was mildly insisted by her withholding of information.
“Thought Lexaeus is more of a big brother type than Zexion,” she began to muse aloud. “And perhaps Demyx too, but I haven’t seen him much lately, he’s been gone. Though it doesn’t really matter, they’re all better than Larxene!”
She flushed bashfully as he moved closer to her, pulling her into a snug cozy position. But she smiled too and giggled a small bit. “We can,” she agreed. “I have to kill a few hours, after all. But just as long as YOU don’t have to go anywhere.”
Isa gave her a wry smile. "Trust me, there's nowhere I have to go. My dad's probably thrilled I never came home tonight," he said, moving so they were fully pressed against each other. "I've got all the time in the world to kill." This was perfect, he thought to himself. Nothing could make this moment even slightly better, and this was exactly how he wished the rest of his life could be spent. Just like this, with Naminé. Even though he knew this couldn't last forever, in his mind, he would savor every moment as if it were the last he would ever know. She was his world now, and he loved her more than anything else.
Bella Notte [Namine & Isa]
She shook her head. “No… I…. don’t have a father,” she sighed. “I guess I said for a lack of better term. And an attempt to seem normal,” she admitted. “I don’t have any parents. More like a… series of caretakers?”
Well maybe explaining a partial truth would be better than trying to explain the whole truth.
“Zexion is… kind of like a strict older brother,” she tried to explain. “He’s the only one who knows I’m gone, but he won’t tell. I just want him to be asleep when I get home.”
Isa's brow furrowed slightly. This new information about Naminé's rather screwed up family only confused him further. "Hm, I didn't know you had an older brother," he said softly, pretending that she wasn't saying she had no family at all. It was impossible, everyone had family. Even he had a family, though his was a sad excuse for one. The question he really wanted to ask her though, was why she had lied to him. He knew that everyone had secrets, and things they wanted to hide until they got to know someone better, but still he thought she could have told him about that little detail before now. But in the end, he still didn't care. He loved her for who she was and he would never let her go as long as he still breathed. Ignoring his last statement, he pulled Naminé a little closer and wrapped his arms around her again. "Well, since you don't have to go home for a while longer," he began. "I guess we should just stay here, like this...for a while longer?" He felt a blush creeping across his face and was thankful for the shadows that would for the most part hide it and make it only look like light from the lantern.
Bella Notte [Namine & Isa]
Isa’s eyebrows drew together as he considered it. “I’m not sure,” he said. “But I can check my watch, one second.” He pulled his arm up into his line of sight and peered at the dark watch on it. The clock read 11:52. “It’s 11:52,” he said softly. “Do you need to get home?” It didn’t really matter to him what time it was since his father wouldn’t care anyway. His father would probably be happy if he never came home actually. Deep down, he himself wished he could simply stay there with her forever, though he knew something like that was absolutely impossible. The whole night had felt so surreal, almost like a dream come true in its own manner, and he didn’t want it to end.
She shook her head lightly with a smile, settling her head back against his shoulder. “No, not yet… I wasn’t sure if you needed to.”
In truth, she needed to wait longer. If she went home now, then Zexion would definitely be awake. If she waited a little while longer, then she might be able to sneak in while he was asleep. She had to wait him out.
“I actually need to stay out later,” she laughed. “I have to wait for Zexion to fall asleep, then I can sneak back in.”
He almost laughed at what she said. The thought of him being required to be home at a certain time was fairly humorous to him. But the name she said afterwards made him pause. "Who's Zexion?" he asked. It was definitely an odd name, but something about it seemed vaguely familiar, but completely different at the same time. Weird. "Oh wait. Is he your dad or something?" The name did seem familiar, and he figured it was possible she had mentioned her father's name before.
The doctor said that if they took you out, I would die, because I couldn’t live without such a good friend. Give this heart to everyone you don’t want to lose in 2012 including me if you care. Try to collect twelve, it is not easy. Be honest and send this to anyone who made you smile this year. ♥
Bella Notte [Namine & Isa]
They were both comfortable just laying there. There was something so serene and calming about it. It was comfortable to her, to just lay here with him and look at the stars. The night so far had been everything she could have wished for a miles beyond that. She had expected dinner and perhaps a walk. But the dancing, the stars, the meteor shower… and the confession of love, was all something from a fairy tale. One of those fairy tales that Namine had always wished her life could be. Isa made her feel like she was in a story book, where everything had a happy ending.
But it was beginning to sink in that she had no earthly idea what time it was. And that may not be a very good thing.
“Isa?” she quietly pondered. “Do you have any idea what time it is?”
Isa's eyebrows drew together as he considered it. "I'm not sure," he said. "But I can check my watch, one second." He pulled his arm up into his line of sight and peered at the dark watch on it. The clock read 11:52. "It's 11:52," he said softly. "Do you need to get home?" It didn't really matter to him what time it was since his father wouldn't care anyway. His father would probably be happy if he never came home actually. Deep down, he himself wished he could simply stay there with her forever, though he knew something like that was absolutely impossible. The whole night had felt so surreal, almost like a dream come true in its own manner, and he didn't want it to end.
Bella Notte [Namine & Isa]
When he turned back over on his back, moving close to her and wrapping his arm around her back, Namine turned on her side, facing him, and cuddled against him. She was still smiling her shy happy smile.
“You don’t have to thank me,” she told him, her head settling on his shoulder, a hand coming to rest against his chest. “You kissed me first, remember?”
She didn’t understand what he was thanking her for at the moment, she was assuming it was for the kiss. She was growing more and more unsure of how or if she’d ever be able to explain this to Zexion (if he was even going to ask when she got back). With any luck, he wouldn’t care or acknowledge her social outing, especially since she had avoided damaging his dress with anything other than some wrinkles.
She could feel his heartbeat under her palm, and the smile on her face softened as she felt it. Steady, quick beats. Something she didn’t have. It was an odd bittersweet comfort, though. After all, in that moment his heart was beating for her.
Isa felt his heart beating beneath her fingers and felt it quicken its pace at her touch. Maybe he didn't have to thank her, but he had wanted to anyway. In that heart which beat so swiftly, he knew that in this moment he was happier than he had ever been. For his entire life he'd felt empty, though he hadn't realized it at the time. When they were together, he felt like that gap inside himself was filled. By what, he wasn't sure, but filled nonetheless. And when she wasn't with him, he felt empty again. She completed him, and he never wanted her to slip away."Yeah, I remember," he said quietly. There was no way he would ever forget that first kiss. It had been something that had changed his life.
Bella Notte [Namine & Isa]
She could feel the desperateness in his kiss now. The way he held her a little tighter, as if he was clinging to her. The way he kissed her hard, but not forcefully, as if he was trying to memorize the sensation.
She felt guilty again, because she knew it had to end. But it made her feel just as desperate to hold onto the moment as he did. At least she could make him forget. She consoled herself with that. She could always just make him forget about her. Like everyone else did, really. She had erased so many memories… It would be very easy to just find the ones of her in his head and pluck them out, replacing them with something normal.
So she returned the desperate nature in the kiss, mirroring his own clinging with her grasp. She wanted this to last too. She didn’t want it to be over yet. Not yet. It would have to end, but not yet.
They stayed like that for what felt both like an eternity and yet merely seconds. They just kept each other in their arms, kissing fervently as the meteors went bursting through the sky. Namine was even forgetting that the meteor shower was even occurring.
She wouldn’t remember that it had been the catalyst for the loving embrace until they finally pulled apart, both heaving for air. Both their faces were flushed, their foreheads still touching as they tried to let their lungs catch up with them. The gloss that Zexion had applied to Namine’s lips had been kissed off, leaving her lips red and swollen. Not that she minded, the slight soreness wasn’t a bad thing really.
Her eyes darted to the side, looking back out at the starry sky. And it was just that now, stars. No meteors across the sky, nothing that might threaten to fall on them.
She smiled sheepishly, realizing that they had just kissed their through a momentous anomaly.
“Wow…” she whispered. “You’re… really good at this.”
Isa felt his face stretch into a slight, lopsided grin as heat washed across him. "You're, uh...not so bad yourself," he said after a while. Turning back onto his back, he moved himself right up against her once more and simply put his arm around her, looking back up to the star-spattered sky, now devoid of its previous movement. The night was still, and only the slightest miniature lick of wind tousled their hair as they lay there beneath the blanket of night. He knew his hair was most certainly already disheveled and probably looked terrible, but he didn't care.
Although on the outside he had managed to keep a calm expression, on the inside he was absolutely beaming. She'd kissed him back, practically mirrored his movements. Even when he had felt desperate to feel her, she had responded the same way. Whether that simply meant she was trying to make him feel good or whether she really felt that way, it didn't matter. If she was trying to make him happy, she had, and he was intensely grateful. No one else had ever really cared about how he felt, or what emotion was playing through his head at any given time. Not even Lea, who was his best friend and knew him better than anyone. But for some reason, Naminé cared. She made him feel like he really mattered, like he didn't just take up space like his father always told him. "Naminé..." he began. "...Thank you."
