Your feet
Just what this town needs, more sarcastic humans. Haven’t you all started a commune yet?
We're meeting next week
“There’s a nice Italian restaurant downtown,” he suggested, “It’s on me, as a thank you!”
Sounds delicious.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have an phone conference with the Prime Minister, I really ought to get to.
And whatever gave you that idea?
Your feet
 isaac-burke-is-back:
elias-rochester:
Yea, but I lie quite well to other people. Besides Eli, all I was trying to do was help you.
You s-said my dad loves me. He doesn’t, h-he hates everything about me.
People show love in different ways,Little One.
Might I ask why?
You have a very punchable face
Punch me and I’ll kick your teeth out.
Still considering it.
elias-rochester:
well that’s a matter of opinion, now isn’t it?
You can’t… you can’t lie to me.
Yea, but I lie quite well to other people. Besides Eli, all I was trying to do was help you.
Not unless they’ve outlawed supper.
“In that case, you have a deal!”
“Th-thank you, sir!” he said, “I hope you don’t think of me as a charity, I mean, I have plenty of skills! I guess the war is making it a little more difficult for me to find work…”
Charity? No. I merely appreciate good company. So I'll schedule a meal for next Monday. You can choose the place, as I'm really not that familiar with this, quaint town?
Jordan found herself sitting beside this enchanting, mysterious man who was alone. Nothing in her smiled faded as she leaned in, having to close some distance to hear him over the blasting bass.Â
“Scouting for talent?” she repeated, chuckling slightly, “what kind of talent?” She began to laugh, obviously making a joke on herself, “obviously I’m the most talented girl in here.”
“Same thing you’re doing here for three times the pay and twice the benefits.”
Isaac leans closer as well, to hear the woman and waves away a... he’s not quite sure, a waitress? There’s an empty bottle of whiskey in one hand, however he’s perfectly sober.Â
“Of course, talent shows itself in the first minute onstage.”
“Nowhere is deserted,” he replied, “live here long enough you’ll learn that there’s someone everywhere.” However, he had actually hoped that whoever would inevitably end up in his chosen napping spot would at least be quiet. Well, those dreams were now shattered. Whatever.
His eyes flicked to the gun for a moment as he shook his head. “Not scared, surprised. It was quiet until you stared making like Billy the Kid and shooting up defenseless maple trees.”
“Why are you out here anyway? The shooting ranges not good enough for you?”
“Fortunately, I don’t plan on staying.” Isaac states, his tone drier than the sahara in the middle of summer. He runs a hand through damp hair, and watches a drop of water falls from a leaf. Not because it was interestting, more because he wanted Pup to know that he wasn’t interesting.
“Would you rather I use wide-eyed puppies?”
He declines to answer the following question, instead issuing an eye-roll of Madonna porportions. The warm barrel of the Ak falls to his side and he crosses his arms.
“Why are you out here anyway? I assume you can nap-...and please tell me there’s not a naked girl behind there.
You’re a liar. A really, really bad liar.
well that’s a matter of opinion, now isn’t it?
Jordan smiled her normal smile, it wasn’t cheesy, nor fake, but it was something she prided herself on – that she wasn’t your average stripper – she was real and this was fun.Â
“”I’m not too worried about it,” she shrugged, taking a seat in the plush chair, “what brings you out? Any hump day celebrations?”
Gorgeous smile, Isaac leans back slightly in the seat, Another thing I won’t have to teach. He tended to be very slightly over protective of his girls, or so he imagined, he was, fortunately, childless.
“You sure? Honestly, the manager of this place, if all his girls are like you, should be making a fortune, however his loss could be my gain. And I’m merely out scouting for talent.”
julian-choi:
“Nothing illegal, right?”
Not unless they’ve outlawed supper.
So what if he’d come out here to hide form Charlie a bit. Big Brother needed time on his own, without the family. Humming, he set up the hammock between two trees and lay down. Huffing at the rain, he rolled over, pulling up his tarp over himself. The patter was almost soother and he was soon dozing off.
Then the gunfire started. Yelping, he fell off the hammock and onto the wet ground. With a groan, he rubbed his sore head, staying on the ground and looking to where the shots had come from. “Good for you, thanks for ruining my day out,” he grouched. “Besides, knives are better than guns.”
Isaac catches his first, or rather second, look at Pup as he falls from the hammock. Dropping the rifle, to hang from his side, he shoots the other a bemused glance.
“Apparently this place isn’t nearly as deserted as I thought.”
He comments dryly, adjusting the strap on the AK, and popping out the empty magazine as he speaks.
“Depends on the situation, for example, scaring you out of the trees, a gun seems to work quite well.”
Remy rolled his eyes as though the answer was obvious, then held the telescope before his eyes so he could zoom in on Isaac’s face. “Obviously I won’t be able to see the meteors if I’m near the lights of the town,” he said.
“You missed a good amount of those shots,” he added, “Your accuracy needs some work, so you should practice more.” Remy hoisted himself up so that he was straddling the branch and stared down at Isaac.
“What are you doing with an AK-47 anyway?”
The arched brow on Isaac’s face moves a fraction of an inch higher. His cargo pants are soaked from the knee down, pressing it against toned calves. The man is close to being soaked, having been out here most of the day.
“You should’ve seen me when I was a boy.”
Bemused, Isaac watches him and sets the black guitar case down, flipping it open to reveal the guitar and a snug space for the AK. As he places it in said place, he responds with a sharp wit.
“Shooting birds in trees.” He cuts a look to said bird as he speaks.Â
“Do you need money? I can pay you,” Isaac pauses briefly, calculating sums. “A grand a week is probably what you were making? Anyway, I can get you $1500 a week if you’re short on cash.
Spanish and Italian tend to sound similar, it doesn’t bother me. Though, hablo español si quieres?
“Wow! There has to be a catch to all of this, isn’t there?” he asked, “But wedding preparations are expensive, so $1500 a week doesn’t sound too bad! What do you need me to do?  Uh, maybe we should keep the conversation in English if that’s alright with you, sir!”
No catch. Benefits of having money to burn. Though I may require you and I to dine together ocassionally.
She was still sick, but some how on enough medication and come down to find herself onto her feet long enough to work. As she came off stage, she moved to sit next to a man who gave her a rather memorable tip.Â
“Thanks!” She chirped, “mind if I sit down?”
Isaac was scouting. His current business plan was Mutants, and what better place to find mutants who weren't terribly opposed to doing some unsavory things for money than a strip club. He found a rather gorgeous young lady and tipped her well more than she deserved. As he hoped, she came over. "Given your clientele, are you sure you want to Caro?"
