Here’s my piece for the Hi My Name Is Mark collaboration. Was super stoked that Mr. Hoppus asked me to be a part of this. Blink 182 was an essential part of growing up for me, so having the chance to collaborate with Mark was a real pleasure for me. I had a lot of fun working on this piece, and I’m so pumped to share it. Hope you guys dig it!

'Trying to make Sense of the Chaos', acrylic and pencil on squared paper, 21x29cm (2013) by Louise McNaught
There’s a certain affinity for textiles and all things blue at Yatzer these days, so these mesmerising pen drawings by French artist Jonathan Bréchignac seem right at home here, continuing the theme. Their creator is Jonathan Bréchignac, art director of Joe&Nathan studio in Paris, France, who chose to create his seductive drawings on paper using just simple Bic pens. Each ”carpet” can take up to eight months to complete, while the very first one was in the making for a year and a half. (…)

for my stop motion i want to create a clip that focused on the give it up challenge as i felt that this i would be most popular.i want to stick with the four original colors from the logo and use them through out .i want my clip to be a progression of sorts starting on a path way looking down at feet as everyone has feet weather you are poor or rich black or white. i want to feature a typical room showing a bed technology and food as these are things people are most likely to give up and show them disappearing.i want my medium to be photography and for it to mainly be black and white as it is mundane and will help link it together as people should look at poverty in black and white it not a small percent in Africa it 90% all over the world and people you know could be living in some sort of poverty with out you knowing.voice over will be a critical part as well as music.
final story board as my stopmotion is mainly photograohy i decided to make my story board photographs
various staryboards along the way as my ideas developed i made a new staryboard
Presentation drawing
Trial and lots of errors
Summary
My model is based of the hip joint as has two movements one were you pull both sides of the circle apart and then slot one side into the wood slot. this is a pull and slide motions he next motion is when the circle roles this motion changes when you pull and slide the model half when the model Is perfectly together it roles fine. When is the second position where the model is no longer a perfect circle it roles less. Basically it is the hip joint the first moment is we're its a normal heathy hip with smooth movement .the second is a old hip that is diseased it doesn't move smoothly.e.g role This model has taught me patience as it was extremely frustrating to make .i now realise I should have done a couple of things different e.g used somthing other than sculpey as well it's started to break apart. Sorry for the fact that the model is disintegrating.
This is my final mode, am slightly disappointed with the quality but was unable to physically make a higher quality model . Sadly 2 minutes before I handed this model in it started to break slightly . Though. Am happy with my idea I have challenged the brief by making one of my two movements the rolling of the model.
Work on final idea working out all the all the issues with the movement one of my two movements is the ball rolling at three different positions getting the two sides to stay together is a issue but can be fixed by adding a rubber band.
stop motion so far
i thought over my stop motion last night and as i didn't show to presentations i thought i would explain my idea here kinda.
at this moment my video has no set challenge i was going to do all four but then i realized if i take away the slavery bit it will fit for the give it up challenge. i will have different voice though out my stop as i want it to come from people who have every truly thinking about what it would be like to have nothing. and i have found in other video i have seen about poverty this method works the best.
It makes the viewer able to relate more and bring out emotion as does using a variety of different peoples faces.the different peoples photos are all around the same age as I was thinking about the target group and how using people roughly there age would have a bigger impact. I am currently torn between three songs Another Day In Paradise by Phil Collins,Fast Car by Tracy Chapman and Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift and then comes the question of who I choose I guess once the rest of the stop motion is complete I will pick the one that fits the most.
i used the combo of photography and drawing which i like. I have use chalk brush because i think it is more appealing i wanted to have the affect of if someone drew on the walls of there house i will tweak these frames a bit more as they aren't right just yet but i think that the black and white background with the color that are the same as the logo are successful.
i used a house as the main imagery in the intro because i like the statement it makes here's a home and yet we are taking about people being homeless i am tempted to add photos of a fridge when i talk about being hungry, it being full then empty. and well as showing a full room of a person belongings.
i overall like the direction of my stop motion and think that i have have some more ideas to explore.
my stop motion.will add more photos to make a smoother transition.have yet to add voice over. music at the moment is phil collins another day in paradise.
