... Well if you did, I guess I didn’t hear?
Take a seat anyway. What brings you around?

[ She blinks, before looking up from her place at the table, raising her mug of beer, grinning. ]
Hey! S’ been awhile, you handsome fuck, how are you?
udachy replied to your post “+ 6 welcome.”
knocking is a waste of time.
Oh, sorry, I’ve been away so long that I forgot that five seconds out of your life will definitely send the world into ruins. My bad!
[Sticks out her tongue because she’s a mature adult. NYEH.]
What brings you here?

KNOCKIN' IS FO LOSERS
Which is exactly why you should be knocking.

Oh. Apologies. May… May I come in? [It’s a bit awkward hovering at the door][She’s looking in concern at those wounds][She wants to help]
Hm? Money? No, you don’t owe me. I think. It’s more likely I owe you. Which is why I have no money. No, I was early to the meeting in Germany tomorrow, and I… Thought I would stop by. I heard you were back.
[She just keeps dressing her wounds with almost robotic precision and boredom, but she still offers a lopsided smile at her words. Nice girl.]
Back I am. Before you ask, no, I didn’t bring back souveneirs for the lot of you from where I came, sorry to say.
But hey, how’ve you been?
thoushallnotfadehere:
I wouldn’t doubt it does, I’m sure your home is quite lovely ordinarily, being away for several months just rather does that to a place–
[His last words a little clipped, almost sharp, but he stops himself before he can sound anything less than polite] [He’s being as polite as he can possibly handle, even if he doesn’t want to be] [It’s not his place to question, though reasons why she disappeared are quite blazingly obvious - despite debate on the exact way she ended up like this - the matter is the fact that she looks so incredibly worn down]
[He clears his throat, suddenly aware he’s been paused for just over the regular social norm] [He didn’t mean to stare at her, he was only arguing with himself] I– If you’re looking for the help it’s not a problem for me to lend a hand. In the nicest way possible, it seems as if you need it. [His voice isn’t clipped, but it’s lost the pleasant edge to it] [He glances around the place to emphasise his point, but it’s not only the size of the job needing doing that he means] Everything else– nothing major has happened, everything’s relatively the same as you left it.
…Except Francis. [Ah] [There’s no pretence in that] [He stares right at her, holding her gaze for as long as she’ll let him] [It could so easily be a passing comment, an observation about the simple fact that he has, undeniably, changed] [But the expression on his face says it’s so much more than that]
[ Despite his comments and the abrupt disappearance of pleasantries in his tone, she doesn’t comment on it back and neither does she point it out. Even the pause seems to flit by her unnoticed— She’s already begun to move certain things aside to clear. She nods at his brief mention of what she’s missed, and — ]
[Oh.]
[ She turns to see him then, catching his gaze in her tired eyes, but she doesn’t react as much as a little surprise, initially. But even that fades in seconds, to something akin to reluctant acceptance. She’d known her absence would affect Francis, and she never had any doubt that his friends would defend him to the death. She is ready for spite and for backlash, ready to take whatever it is that’s about to be thrown at her. Because no matter how much she loves Francis, missed and still misses him painfully, her duty always comes first. No matter what. If she could stab her and cut her relationship with her own brother to secure her independence without so much as batting an eyelid, one could be damned well sure she would temporarily leave her boyfriend to do what she has to do. ]
[ And it’s the same cold, calm acceptance in her eyes now, as if she’s rehearsed this scene a thousand times before. ]
I’m aware.
I hope you’ve been taking care of him while I wasn’t around?

isditthuis replied to your post:Should I be a polar bear or a dinosaur today…? […
How about… /both/.
I don’t think humanity is ready for such a creature.
Humanity needs a hero right now.
Be that hero. Be the polar dino-bear you always were, deep inside. Believe in the me who believes in you.

[He winks at her as she comments on his hair, pulling a kiddy face at her as he walks past] Ah, you think I’m handsome. Everyone does.
[He tries not to notice how empty it is - even the kitten is gone? - and how much it smells like the sharp lemon of her floor cleaner as he puts the box down, pushing his hair back. He jumps a little as she hugs him, his back turned to her. Slowly, a little awkwardly, he turns around to embrace her, pressing his face into the softness of her neck, taking a deep breath]
[God, he missed this. He missed her smell, the feel of her arms around him, the warmth of her skin. He’d say he missed the soft plush against his chest, but… It’s not there right now, which sends a little pang to his heart. He’s never seen her this thin, and he’s never seen her this beat up. Not since the war.]
[He presses a kiss to her shoulder, feather light and innocent, one arm around her waist and one across her back. Easily, without hesitation, he lifts her, holding her close as he carries her to the kitchen] Let’s get you something to eat.
[ In truth, in terms of how she looks, she’s certainly been through worse. This is a relatively minor change by far, and the both of them know it. Nevertheless, it’s still surprising when he kisses her and then quite literally sweeps her off her feet, with more ease than she knows used to be. Has she really lost that much weight? Apparently. ]
[ Still, she barks out short laughter and allows him to carry her. She’s missed this. Even though she knows that it’s her own fault. ]
Francis, I already ate, don’t worry. I’m not going to gain all my curves back just because you’re going to stuff me with your ‘fancy French cuisine’.
No. No, that wasn’t an innuendo, mister--

my muse for belle has been like. so fucken low lately i apologize for not being on
toughens up!!! rolls up sleeves!!! let’s see if i can get some replies rolling
Francis is fucking Ukraine now. He doesn't need you anymore. Now you're skinny and ugly he doesn't want you.
I’m… aware he doesn’t need me anymore.
Was there a point to this besides informing me of his sex life and my apparently hideous new looks?
[She pauses with her hand raised, in a fist, just about to knock-][And she looks at the woman, clearly taken by surprise, lips parted]
… I am very sorry! [She takes a moment to realise what’s going on, before gasping] You are hurt! Do you need some help?
Ah, no, no, I’m pretty good doing this on my own- Just, maybe have some basic courtesy to give me a warning before you enter?
[Hisses as she dresses her wound again. It’s healing nicely but it still hurts. There are burn scars.]
To what do I owe this visit? ... Not money I hope. Do I owe you money, is that why you’re here--
+ 6 welcome.

I’ve been – I’ve been okay! Dad and I moved in together, I dunno if, I dunno if you knew that, or – or anything, uhm –
Oh yeah! I wrote a letter to my mum. Dad wrote too. And we’re gonna throw a bottle in the ocean so she’ll find it! She’ll find it –
…how have you been?
Oh, neat! I hope he’s been treating you well. Has he? He hasn’t done anything dumb yet, right? No drugs, no food poisoning, no plastic explosives--
[And then she looks, just a wee bit pained.]
I’ve been. Surviving? Yeah, that’s the word I’d use.
