ISFPâs functions as Disney princess GIFs
Dominant Function (Fi): True to heart
Auxiliary Function (Se): In the moment
Teriary Function: (Ni): Skeptical but hopeful
Inferior Function (Te): Orderly yet overwhelmed
What are the differences between infp and isfp? Because I already tested myself a couple of time and the result shows either infp or isfp.
ISFPs and INFPs often look like each other at a glance and can be difficult to differentiate. I will try my best to help you (and others who have wondered the same thing) figure out which of these two MBTI types matches you best!
The main difference between the ISFP and INFP is whether you utilize the sensing function (the âSâ in ISFP) or the intuition function (the âNâ in INFP) to gather information. Both are used in the same way, but they usually focus on different information.
ISFP - extraverted sensing (Se): When types use the sensing function, they are focused on the here and now. They enjoy learning and discovering new activities, experiences, and adventures by trying them out themselves and love the exciting things new adventures bring. ISFPs like to get hands-on when it comes to trying things, and they typically enjoy soaking up the sights, sounds, and smells around them. They are typically the people you see savoring every moment and lose track of time doing activities they love. ISFPs are also fairly practical and straight-forward people. While they can sometimes come across as blunt or even shy/quiet, it is possibly because they express themselves better with actions rather than words.
INFP - extraverted intuition (Ne): When types use the intuition function, they are focused on all the possibilities that can occur. They like to focus on the future and what âcould beâ by noticing patterns and connections between objects and their environment. Rather than experiencing one thing at a time, INFPs like to look at the big picture and think about the potential each experience could reach. They tend to focus on what to do or experience next and have a difficult time sticking with just one idea or plan for the long-haul.
To compare these two types side to side, below is a situation where both types are participating in the same activity, but get different experiences out of it:
ISFP and INFP are both individual social media influencers who have traveled to a fun new city to take some eye-catching photos to post on their pages. However, they have two different approaches to their photography adventure.ISFP most likely will play it by ear by walking down along the streets and if they happen to see some amazing wall art, or stumble into a trendy cafe, theyâd take a few photos and continue to enjoy the sights and sounds the environment is providing them. INFP would probably have scoped out the best places in advance to best utilize their time. They want their photos to be individual pieces of a cohesive story/experience. They would focus on taking their photos first, and if they happened upon a fun shop, or ice cream parlour, they would most likely come back to it after their photo session was completed.
Hopefully, this helped make some things a bit clearer. If you have further questions about the MBTI functions, I highly recommend this article: https://thoughtcatalog.com/heidi-priebe/2015/06/if-youre-confused-about-your-myers-briggs-personality-type-read-this-an-intro-to-cognitive-functions/

Heeeey so im isfp and like all the descriptions fit me except for the artist part? Om sooo not an artist does that make me not an isfp?
You can definitely still be an ISFP despite not having a passion for art!
Most ISFPs tend to gravitate towards different types of art as a way to stimulate their Se function while also using it as a way to express their outlook on life and their inner thoughts. However, this doesnât mean all ISFPs are artists. There are many different activities and experiences that speak to non-artistic ISFPs (such as sports, cooking/baking, traveling, etc.).
Is it just me, or are all ISFPs r e a l l y bad at texting back right away, if at all?

Unintentionally Neglected Asks ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ
If youâve followed this blog for a while, youâll know half of it is ISFP content, and the other half is me apologizing for not posting/replying
I do get notifications, but sometimes either the ask notification alludes my attention, or I might be doing some research/thinking about how to respond to your question. All that in mind, if youâve sent me an unanswered ask in the past year (har har, but to be honest itâs been a few months...oops), Iâll try my best to get to it as soon as I can. Thanks for all of your patience!
Explaining Emotions: Difficult or Doable?
{This post is for any fellow ISFPs who have opinions and experiences that they would like to share and discuss with other ISFPs}
So, lately Iâve been frustrated with how I donât always convey how Iâm feeling to other people in the best way. By that, I mean someone might notice Iâm not quite myself and ask what is wrong, but I canât seem to explain my current emotion or exactly why Iâm feeling the way I do at that moment.
Itâs almost as if I have to process internally why I feel upset before I can even admit to someone Iâm feeling upset at all (even though it might be obvious by my body language already).
Most situations are naturally easier/faster to internally comprehend, but unfortunately, itâs usually the complicated situations or the days where little things add up to where youâre not feeling right but donât know the exact reason why (or how to verbalize it).
With all this being said, I was curious if other ISFPs have trouble with this and/or have an explanation as to why an ISFP might have this type of problem more (or possibly less) than a different type. Feel free to discuss and share!

Reasons why ISFP is being quiet
Something someone said or something in the room gave us an idea and weâve zoned out trying to plan or visualize it. Â AKA daydreaming.
We prefer to get to know you by listening and observing. We want to see if your behavior lines up with what you say, if youâre funny, if we have anything in common, if youâre a safe person to trust before we really open up. Â
We may not have anything to contribute to the conversation. This can mean that the thought we had has been spoken already, so it would be inefficient to speak it again. Â It can also mean that we really donât know much about the subject and want to research and process to form our own opinions before we speak up about it. We donât see this as hiding or withholding our opinion. If we speak up, we want to make a significant contribution to the group. Weâre not into adding to the noise or making conversation for its own sake.
Weâre thinking about what to say, and sometimes we just donât move fast enough. Â Often the conversation moves so quickly that we just arenât able to come up with something meaningful to say fast enough to fit between comments. This is especially true when weâre quiet in a group setting.
We canât always put what weâre thinking into words youâll understand. I canât say this is true for all ISFPs, but Iâm a visual thinker: which means I think in images, feelings, and broad concepts more than concrete words or sentences. Sometimes I really canât put my thoughts into words at all.  This is why we tend to gravitate toward artistic occupations or hobbies; itâs easier to express ourselves through showing rather than telling most of the time, especially if itâs a thought that affects us strongly. (which leads to the next point)
We dislike being misunderstood. We find itâs often better or easier to keep something private if we know the other person just wonât get it or saying something will result in criticism (or both). Â Weâre pretty sensitive but donât like to come across that way.
Sometimes we just like to sit back and drink in the moment: sights, sounds, smells, conversation. We canât fully take in everything when weâre talking.Â
Weâre weird and we know itâŠbut we also like connecting with other people and tend to avoid conflict.  If we know that revealing what weâre really thinking means that we may not be accepted by the group, weâll often just keep that thought to ourselves.  Itâs not worth debating something unless we truly, 100%, heart and soul believe in it. Â

Uhmmmn Hi! It's me, Does having an Ixxx (introverted) partner works out best for an isfp. Since many says that if you are an introvert you should have an extroverted partner. Will it work out best?
Hi there! :) I think that an introverted partner can work well with another introvert in certain situations just as well as an extrovert and an introvert. With two introverts, it's nice to understand that while they love each other, they also can appreciate some solitude when needed. With my INFJ, he and I often enjoy being in the same room while doing completely different things on our own. I think the idea that an extrovert partner helps balance out the introvert is true for most cases, but there's definitely something to be said for having a mutual understanding between two introverts that some alone time is beneficial and appreciated!
