I write these words with tears in my eyes, watching my nephew suffer so much, unable to get up. He has been in excruciating pain and has had repeated fainting spells over the past week due to severe anemia. I cannot afford all the medications he needs because of their high prices. Worse still, my nephew lost his father in this genocide, and I, his uncle, am their sole provider. His condition is deteriorating daily, and he desperately needs urgent surgery before his pain worsens. The pain is constant, even at night; he can't sleep, and every moment feels like endless agony.

I stand helpless before this heartbreaking scene. I don't have enough money to cover the costs of the operation or even to provide the medication that would alleviate his excruciating pain. My sense of helplessness is just as painful as his illness itself, perhaps even more so.

I contemplate the happy faces of people around me here in Ireland and reminisce about the happy normal life my family and I had before the war. A life that turned into a distant memory for us and was replaced by an unending series of horrible nightmares.

Unlike my family in Gaza, people here have access to drinking water, all types of food, electricity, and a roof over their heads. Above all, they are safe, and I cannot help but wonder if they genuinely do appreciate these blessings in their lives enough.

People seem relaxed and laughing wholeheartedly around me in Ireland. I wish I could laugh too, but I am crushed way beyond recovery on the inside. I was evacuated by my Irish college after five months of living the horrors of war in Gaza. I hope you will never know what it feels like to live in constant fear and worry and be horrified by the most sickening and scary nightmares every single night while you are far away from your family in such circumstances.

When did my people in Gaza cease to be human beings worthy and deserving of a normal life? Has it become normal now for my family in Gaza to be starved and killed while the whole world is watching the genocide? If that is the case, then you will have to excuse me if I seek every avenue to bring them to Ireland and start a new normal life like all people here around me.

I was assured by the Irish Reugee Council (IRC) and lawyers in Ireland that there is hope I can reunite with my family in Ireland. In difficult times, it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. For me and my family, you are literally our light and hope for a better life.

Look, it's clear that when you're suffering, you're not allowed anything pleasant, peaceful, or even a little bit of luxury—because people immediately decide that "the situation isn't that bad" and tell you to relax. As if trying to experience simple, normal moments erases the pain and suffering. It's truly infuriating logic.

Guys, no one has looked upon us with compassion since October 7th. Gaza has been relentlessly bombed. Hospitals have been targeted and besieged. Water has been cut off, electricity cut off, food prevented, and people have lived with hunger, thirst, and fear every day. I am the main provider of two disabled loved ones/roommates, one who has cancer. We are behind on bills after an extended period of me missing work between one of them having surgeries and the other being hospitalized.

All three of us have very expensive appointments coming up. Our internet is set to be turned off soon, which is particularly bad because I work from home. The washer broke a while back. Things are bad.

hey everyone - i know there’s a lot going on in the world right now, a lot of causes that need support and visibility now more than ever.

i’d like to take an opportunity to highlight a cause that’s very literally close to home for me: i live very, very close to springfield, ohio. the haitian community there has always needed help and support but now, with white supremacist rhetoric and bold faced lies being circulated nationally, with threats of violence and heightened ignorance being more common than ever, they need it perhaps more than they ever have.

there has been a lot of hate since trump and his little bootlicker attack dog jd vance have started this shit, but there’s also been an outpouring of love and community outreach in the weeks since springfield was thrust into the worst kind of spotlight.

the hatian community support and help center has been invaluable in helping hatian refugees get what they need to start a new life here. they are headed by a team of haitian immigrants that are personally familiar with what their fellow immigrants need. they have been instrumental in keeping their community from falling through the cracks.

Mutual aid for Palestinian artists in Gaza!

This video is a poem written by Palestinian poet @mariampoetry and sung by the amazing Gazan singer Reem from Gaza. The video is taken by Mahmoud Shamia of the destruction from the past year throughout Gaza.

My friend Mariam is fundraising again for many different Gazan artists and their families, including Reem's, and wanted to ask for your help in gathering $8,000 to help support them this coming winter.

After a year of daily massacres, so many Palestinians in Gaza are feeling hopeless and let down by humanity. But Mariam decided to do something and I hope you can help with her mission!

So many of her friends have left their homes in a hurry leaving everything they own behind. They're lacking basic necessities with most people becoming displaced more than ten different times. And with winter on the horizon, they need warm clothes and blankets, to help them weather the long, cold nights, and womens' hygiene kits all of which are incredibly scarce and expensive.

Mariam has asked me to help with her efforts to collect funds for 8 of her friends and their families. We are hoping to send $1000 for each family to help them prepare for the harsh winter in tents amidst constant bombings.
