Outside The Fairy Tail, Ian is on his second smoke, soaking in the surrounding nightlife and enjoying his solitude more than an Alpha courting an Omega should. He loiters until a man on the other side of the street paces with so much attitude, he crushes his cigarette underneath his boot to stare.

Omega, if his judgment serves him correctly. It usually does. That short, compact figure is one giveaway. His eyebrows furrow. He attempts to make sense of why he thinks he knows this man. His back is turned to Ian, but that profile is strangely familiar.

The man swings forward, hands on his hips. Ian sucks in a stuttering breath. Cold and painful like the upturn of his world.
