i would like to make more fake movie screencaps, this was fun! though i should stop fussing so much over little details and perfection, its what made me take so long to finish this. the original sketch might be at least 2 years old now, wtf

my manager and i have had conversations about this: he says a lot of people approach all media the same way they approach pornography, i.e. they want it to mirror back to them how they already feel or want to feel. the idea that the art might make you feel something new or different or unexpected, and the inherent risk of that, is scary to some folks sometimes

Lyra, my beloved cat of 13 years, passed away this year on Father's Day. She's been by my side through very difficult times and was my little rock of steady and unrelenting love. I struggled a lot drawing this, and struggled a lot posting it, but I know I would've wanted to read a comic like this that validated my grief for her when I lost her.

Wherever you are, Lyra my little summer star, I love you always! Thank you for being the best thing in my life.
