Husband!Nanami missing you
Usually it was Husband!Nanami leaving for business trips, not you. But for one reason or another, the roles have been reversed and he doesnât quite know how to feel.
âBye, sweetheart. Text me when you get there, alright?â He says, stroking your cheek with his thumb. Everything you could possibly need for your week-long trip is organised meticulously in your suitcase so youâre all packed and ready to go, thanks to him.Â
Giggling, you peck your husband on his lips. âYes, I will. Iâll text you so often youâre going to get sick of me.â
Husband!Nanami smiles. How could he not?
âThat wonât ever happen, sweetheart. You should get going now; you still have to get through security. I love you.â
âI love you more!â You yell out, rushing away with a final wave goodbye.Â
Under his breath, he mutters, âI love you most.â
Husband!Nanami returns to an empty home, already feeling your absence. He knew heâd have a difficult time â he always did. Whenever he was away to Kyoto or Osaka or even further, he would count the days till he gets to come back to you. But now, heâs counting down the days till you get back to him and gosh, time really does move slowly when youâre not having fun.
On the first day, he busies himself with all the things he doesnât really get to do when youâre home. Things like reading a book (you find him absolutely adorable with his reading glasses and he can barely get through a chapter before youâre snuggling up in his lap and distracting him with kisses), watching the news (you much prefer fiction over cold, harsh reality and he obliges you every time), and taking a nice, long and relaxing bath on his own (he always has wife-shaped bathing buddy occupying the tight space with him).
Husband!Nanami never complains about the fact that most days he has go without the solo activities he used to cherish before being in a relationship with you. Of course not. It wasnât as if he ever âgave upâ or âsacrificedâ anything. Things were just different.
He knew that getting with, proposing and marrying you. And he knows that now.Â
Especially when he realises that none of his books from his âto be readâ file are very interesting, what with them all being about the same thing â he really ought to branch out into other genres. The news is depressing and all there seems to be these days are bloodshed and destruction â as a sorcerer thatâs all heâs ever know, so why would he subject himself to anymore of it at home?. And baths?
Unless, of course, theyâre shared with you; heâd much rather feel your soft, warm flesh against his.Â
That sole thought occupies his mind as he spontaneously boards a plane and counts down the hours until he gets to see your face, likely full of surprise but also, hopefully, of acceptance and love.Â
Husband!Nanami isnât ashamed to admit he couldnât last a day without his wife. He isnât ashamed to admit that living alone, without you, is his worst nightmare. And he will never be ashamed to declare to the world that he doesnât even think he exists outside of you.Â
Because to your Kento, he is a husband first, and everything else second.
