Azzi Fudd needs a better coach
respectfully, i think azzi fudd needs fans who have better patience, grace, and understanding of the transition from college to the wnba 😅
we are three games into the season for a wings team that is already so different from last year. they have 7 returning players and 5 new ones. they have a new head coach (who is new to coaching the wnba) and coaching staff. they have also already seen an improvement in record because they won their first game of the season (last year, they didn’t win until game 5… against connecticut, and then they didn’t win again until game 13).
in other words, the wings are working with a lot of new variables and it will take some time for them to figure out the best system—and things are already going better than last year despite those growing pains.
yet, knowing all of this, i have seen far too many fans who are way too comfortable completely disparaging everybody around azzi because they do not like how these three games have gone for her. saying nasty things on wings socials about her coaches, her teammates, her girlfriend. harrassing admin about her minutes. acting like the wings concocted some evil master plan to ruin her rookie year. demanding a trade or a start. even selling their tickets?
all i know is azzi fudd has not, nor will she ever, complain like people are on her behalf and it probably makes it harder for her to adjust when her fans are shitting on her coach en masse for how three (3) games have gone 🥴
