just wanted to let all u pretties kno that this is gonna be a hectic week for me so replies will most likely be v slow and sporadic

The embarrassment from her statement moments before was ebbing away and she couldnât help but smile at his confidence. Thea didnât know whether he was serious or as some were more jokingly cocky, but it was nice all the same. She felt herself perk up at the semi praise, not having been used to it, but still tried to make her words casual, unaffected. âI do all the driving..â And because she wouldnât be Thea if she didnât ramble just a little she went on. âShe use to but the last time I let her drive we ended up in the wrong lane with oncoming traffic coming at us so..â She shrugged, itâs not like she minded driving her gran around.
âHappens with age,â he mused, having spent quite a number of years witnessing the various damage elderly drivers could inflict upon their vehicles. Still, Elijah pressed onwards with his intentions, spurred by how she immediately responded to his compliment. âItâs very admirable of you to take charge like that, though. Not everyone would have the patience or fortitude.â
Jasper beamed a smile and accented Elijahâs and his embrace with a small smack on his friendâs back. âIâve been about, man but just workingâŚnothing exciting at all. I was just heading to grab a drink, wanna join and make it alcoholic instead?â
As the duo parted, Elijah casually gestured towards the bar a few blocks down. âMickeyâs has a happy hour special tonight. Iâm moderately appalled that you were planning to go out and not have alcohol. This is exactly why weâre not allowed to spend extended periods of time apart, because you lose all sense of priority.â
âI would and I could find someone else to do this if you would keep acting out, I just looked for the best and here I am,â Mahira was never one to actually use violence, but she disliked such behavior coming from anyone, even Elijah. With a shrug, she allowed a grin to appear on her lips as she looked at him. âJust because you are better, it doesnât mean I donât know how to play it.â
âFlattery gets you everywhere,â he chuckled softly, ignoring any and all implications that he should cease his usual behaviour. There was far too much amusement found in the taunting and questioning of others. His favourite game, of course, would always exist to be the one they immersed themselves into now. âAnd you think itâs wise to test your luck against the pros?â
âWell, if I wasnât pushing your stuff, who would be? I doubt youâd get out there and do it yourself.â Tilting her head slightly, the girl huffed. âI bet I could find someone else. Someone way more tolerant than you.âÂ
âYouâd be shocked at the things Iâd be willing to do when necessary,â his tone dropped lower, an ominous hint beneath his words despite the bemused smirk which adorned his features. âIs that a threat? Because I can guarantee you wonât find anyone else who lets you get away with being disrespectful to their face. You really have no fucking idea how lucky you are, how good you have it right now.â
âOh-hah. No way, Iâve not seen you in a while. Howâs it going?â
âLike seeing a ghost my man,â Elijah offered the other male a taunting smirk before embracing him. âNothing new. Where the fuck have you been? I at least expect a postcard when you dip out of my life.â It had probably only been a weekâs time in which they were apart, but the sentiment remained.
She smiled, but still managed to roll her eyes at his comment, knowing the joking nature. She pulled her keys out of her pocket and tossed them his way, pulling out her phone as well to call for a ride to work. âIf you do, your dinner is on the house. Thank so much, again.â
âYeah? You gonna take me on a date, kid?â Another jest, this time more obvious since the girl was honestly so young she might as well have been his little sister. âYouâre welcome, just make sure they canonize me when I inevitably die at twenty-seven. I hear thatâs when all the greats go out: Hendrix, Morrison, Winehouse...â
Sam couldnât help but let out a deep sigh, rubbing his temples. He wasnât one to pick fight sin public but Elijah managed to get on his every erve and he was really not feeling it. âCan you for once stop being such a prick.â he spoke stifly, his jaw set. âI just came here to get my damn car fixed donât make it a personal thing and just do your damn. Now will you please just do your job, I didnât came here to bicker with you over irrelvant business.â
âNo, probably not. Itâs part of my DNA; blond hair, sectoral heterochromia, and being a prick. Iâm like a Power Puff Girl, itâs my chemical X.â It would never ease tensions between them for Elijah to continue with his sarcastic quips and general enjoyment from getting a rise out of Sam, but he pressed on regardless. âNothing about this is personal, Tsao. Youâre not that special. And Iâm not bickering, just commenting. Maybe if you took your head out of your own ass for once, youâd realize not everything I do is in an effort to criticize your general existence.â Crouching low towards the tire, he examined the parts in question. âI was right, youâre going to need a full replacement. Five hundred easy.â
Teasing her bottom lip outwards, she feigned hurt; eyebrows creasing inwards as she surveyed him momentarily. âI have a bike for you to fix up,â she mused, plucking a cluster of keys from her back pocket and throwing them towards the opposing figure. âAs for missing you, that face of yours has been the cause of many nightmares.â
Mismatched irises nearly rolled out of his skull at her false offense. âWhat kind?â Palms caught the keys without struggle, a flash of intrigue decorating his profile for the briefest of moments before he relegated himself to a blank expression as customary in Jaqâs ever daunting presence. âYou mispronounced wet dreams, but itâs fine. We can work on your language skills another day. Iâm not in the mood for hooked on phonics when weâre talking bikes. So whoâd you steal it from?â
âAnd one day, Iâll look back and wonder why I still do favors for you. And ask why I didnât change to someone else when I had the chance.â Crossing her legs, Felix leaned forward. One hand started scratch absent mindedly at the back of the other.Â
âFavours?â A brow quirked at Felixâs choice of terminology for their mutual acquaintanceship, her employment beneath him being the singular thread which bound them together until now. âThe kind of favours you think you provide and the sort that I actually enjoy are two entirely separate acts. And you wonât find someone else this tolerant, I can assure you.â
âHonestly, it was more for my sake. By getting rid of him, I get my car back that little bit quicker, right?â Of course a part was to appease the pair of them from the rich snotty moron, that would no doubt remind her of her grandmother, but nonetheless, admitting it was for selfish gain was the way she usually went. âDoes money make people idiotic and frustrating? âCause I think weâve just come up with the reason behind it all. Then again, thereâs always just the average assholes that I like to call idiotic morons, too, so I donât know.â Then again, the brunette found most people fitting into that category, her patience was unfortunately permanently thin. âKinky or derogatory? I canât quite decide.â A smirk presented itself across her lips as she placed herself on the stool offered to her in silence.
âSo impatient,â he mused with a faint hint of entertainment at her insistence. âI think wealth gives those who are already idiotic morons, as you call them, more reason to flaunt their stupidity openly for the public. They use money as a buffer between their reality and ours.â Slightly philosophic conversation for a mechanic, but Elijah prided himself on being a level above the majority in terms of broad thought. His extracurricular activities would hardly be as successful without such innovation. âThat is entirely up to you, now isnât it? Whereâs the fun if I give you a hint this early and strip you of a learning opportunity?â
that was the phone she was asking for, definitely. tess granted a smile and nodded. before she could even reach the phone, the boy spoke and she turned around to hear him. she thought it was rude not to look at him while he spoke. the smile was shy, as per usual, but it was followed by a: â thank you. oh, and, is it okay if i ask for you to ⌠â sorta drive the car to wherever you need?â
âYeah, not a problem. Out of all the people around, Iâm probably the only one who can get it to the back lot without running the risk of an explosion.â A wry smile tugged at his features. âIâm joking with you, kid. We take all the cars around back until theyâre worked on, itâs not a big deal and yours wonât suddenly combust on the thirty second drive around the building. Thatâs not how suspension works.â
She found herself blushing as she realized how sheâd just stated the obvious but quickly ignored it. âYeah.. I suppose youâre right.â Thea wished she knew more about cars, it would make her life easier, but it just wasnât something she understood. âIt is.. plus my gran would never make it to the store without it so.â She smiled. âAnyway, thanks..â
The warmth which rose beneath the flesh of her cheeks hardly escaped his attention, though Elijah chose to play upon such a telling sign rather than comment over its emergence. âI usually am,â he smirked, unabashedly confident in his own intellect. âYouâre a brave soul for sharing it with her... Or do you do all the driving?â A false intrigue with ulterior motives, but he could dote as well as any knight on a white steed. It was all a matter of concealing the dragon lurking beneath the armor. âEither option seems very saintly of you.â
