5 Ways to Think Like A Champion

1. Champions don’t make excuses when they don’t win. They don’t focus on the faults of others. They focus on what they can do better. They see their mistakes and defeats as opportunities for growth. As a result they become stronger, wiser and better.

2. Champions focus on what they get to do, not what they have to do. They see their life and work as a gift and not an obligation. They know that if they want to achieve a certain outcome, they must commit to and appreciate the process. They may not love every minute of the journey but their attitude and will helps them develop their skill.

3. Champions expect to win. When they walk on the court, on the track, on the field, or into a classroom, they expect to win. In fact they are surprised when they don’t. They expect success and their positive beliefs often lead to positive actions and outcomes. They win in their mind first and then they win in the hearts and minds of their customers, students, competitors, or fans

4. Champions celebrate the small wins. By celebrating the small wins champions develop the confidence to go after the big wins. Big wins and big success happens through the accumulation of many small victories. This doesn’t mean champions become complacent. Rather with the right kind of celebration and reinforcement, champions work harder, practice more and believe they can do greater things.

5. Champions believe they will experience more wins in the future. Their faith is greater than their fear. Their positive energy is greater than the chorus of negativity. Their certainty is greater than their doubt. Their passion and their purpose is greater than their challenges. In spite of their situation, champions believe their best days are ahead of them, not behind them.

If you don’t think you have what it takes to be a champion, think again. Champions aren’t born, they are shaped and molded. And just as iron sharpens iron you can develop your mindset and the mindset of your team with the right thinking, beliefs and expectations that lead to powerful actions.

Funniest feis/dance story?

At oireachtas on ceili day, awards started early and half of us didn’t even know we had to be backstage yet and I had taken a shower and was eating ice cream when we were all supposed to be backstage so I’m running like a madwoman with a mini ice cream in one hand and my wig in the other with Ellie Joyce and we finally get there and throw our stuff on and RUUN. So we get back there and I am not having it cuz I had to ditch my ice cream and I was also kinda just zoned out from the stress of getting ready in 3.5 seconds. So they call out numbers and by the time they get to top 10 we are expecting to be called soon. At one point our TC comes over and each time they called a number we all looked at each other like lol wut. By the time they got to top 5, my TC and I basically collapsed to the ground and we were all screaming chickens and each time they called out a number I kept on saying “THIS IS A JOKE” and then they got to top two and we were all holding hands and when they didn’t call out number we lost it and I was on the ground and my wig was halfway off my head and I kept on saying that it was not real. So we go on stage and everyone is confused cause we literally didn’t expect to win and I just think it’s really funny bc we just came not wanting to get last and somehow we won lol
