The mood shifts when she sees Meg. Not in a negative way, it’s never in a negative way. It’s good. Well, better than good. It’s weird. Penny isn’t necessarily sure why she’s always so excited to see Meg, but just chalks the joy up to feeling safe around a familiar face. It makes sense. She left everyone she knew back home, so anywhere she can find a second of familiarity is welcome. It’s the same reaction when she’s with Chip, Libby and Riley; she’s sure. “Meg! Hey!” she gives her friend a small wave as she approaches. “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming? We could’ve came together.” To be fair, she didn’t expect to see Meg here, the picnic didn’t really seem like her scene. But she’s happy she’s here regardless. @itsjustmeg

there were few people meg enjoyed being around, the list was very short. she didn't have many friends. she didn't have family. she wasn't in a relationship. meg was always used to it being just her but from the moment she met penny, she was added to the short list of those who's company she enjoyed. her energy was infectious and part of meg craved it. being miserable wasn't possible around penny proud. a rare smile that seems only reserved for her forms on her lips the moment she sees her friend. " hey penny. " she greets with her own wave, not nearly as energetic as hers but all the same. " honestly i wasn't going to but, i needed to get out of that dump and this was the perfect excuse. " this wasn't her type of scene but, she used any excuse to get out from hades' thumb. plus, how could you go wrong with the right company anyway?

“Nutmeg,” he called out as he walked up to the bar, giving her a grin. “How’s my favorite little bartender doing on this fine evening? You hear about that one girl’s party? Crazy that many people would show up to what sounds like a nobody’s birthday bash.” He chuckled. “Crazy what the promise of free drinks can get people to do.” Hades sighed as he leaned back against the counter. “I know at least one of the idiots already went over there. So what about you? You planning on ditching me, too?”

" not my name. " she instinctively replies, annoyance thick in her tone. god no one got under her skin as quickly as hades. all it took was one word to ruin her entire mood. " i was fine until you showed your face. " she says, not bothering to actually make eye contact with him. " clearly she's not that much of a nobody if she's got you irritated and this place so dead. " she couldn't help but take delight in just how empty the club currently was. hades definitely wouldn't be happy about that and his unhappiness made her happy. " and miss this beautiful bonding experience with you? i wouldn't dream of it. " sarcasm dripped from her words. of course she was going to go to a party of someone she didn't even know just to get away from him and this hell hole.

“Hiding from You-Know-Who again?” Phoenix asked as he spotted Meg nearby, deciding to take a seat beside her. The two of them had sort of a strange relationship, but as long as their boss wasn’t around, she was pretty easy to talk to. “Pretty sure I saw him head home for the night, so we should be safe — for now.” @itsjustmeg

" no wonder it's so quiet. " she says with a shrug, though she wouldn't put it past hades to lull them into a false sense of safety and come around to ruin it. " thanks, " she says with a hint of smile, appreciative of phoenix coming over to tell her. " no wonder you're so calm right now. "
