so I got into grad school today with my shitty 2.8 gpa and the moral of the story is reblog those good luck posts for the love of god
okay so i just got my dream job??? a week after applying to it?? and now i’m thinking….maybe this is the good luck post
…..not even six hours later i got an offer of a well paying full time long-term job with free room and board in queens in nyc, allowing me independence and a way to escape an abusive situation and an unhealthy environment
likes charge reblogs cast, folks, this is the good luck post
i need all the help i can get for finals
Hey so
the last time I reblogged this post right before I got a great job, in a permanent work-from-home position, with benefits, retirement, and a salary literally 3x what I was making before, doing something I really like.
So you know.
This might be the real one, y’all.
If you see someone with a really bad fandom take, I’m begging you to open your emails and write a strongly worded missive to your local government official about something bad happening in your community or country.
If you’re in Canada you could email a rep about concerns about Elon musk interfering in our next federal election.
If you’re in the US the list is endless.
If you’re in the UK you could email about trans health care.
If you’re in Australia, what about dental care in Medicare?
If you’re in Europe, look into some EU initiatives of particular concern. Perhaps something to do with nature and biodiversity? Idk
Just today I emailed my local mla about coal mining in the Rocky Mountains and tomorrow I’m going to pick something else and do it again
Don’t get me wrong I love a fandom wank as much as anyone but perhaps you can take an iota of the energy you’re spending on that and put it towards making sure your elected representatives hear from you on a regular basis
Honestly this seems like a legit mental health emotional de-escalation strategy. New grounding technique just dropped and it's going to revolutionize the world at the rate I see bad takes as a regular tag scroller
if i had two dollars for every time a comonwealth country's federal election ousted the opposition leader from their position and their electorate seat in 2025, i'd have two dollars, which isnt a lot, but it's weird it happened twice right?
We are now well into S7 of The Rookie and people are feeling things. Not all of them are nice or good or positive things.
In fact, some of them are deeply critical, unkind, mean, or frustrated. I get that.
In the interest of people having a space to vent or express those feelings without being shouted down about negativity, about being haters (maybe some of us are, that's still valid, like?), or whatever the defensive pushback du jour is...
I invite you to the critical discord!
The link included here is good for two weeks but you can message me, @goodgirlssayiloveyoutoo, or @onlyforchenford for a link if you're interested at some later date!
Fair warning, we ask that people generally be 18+ because we're not policing language (although we are policing slurs, etc and you will be booted post haste for that shit) or content.
The discord is mostly quiet but flares up with piping hot takes during episodes and spoilers. If you're super defensive of characters or plots or seasons or actors, you may find it uncomfortable at times because pushback and discussion do happen. If it's not a good fit, there's no pressure to stay.
Last line tag game!
rules: post the last line you wrote in one of your wips, then tag as many people as there are words in that line

It’s also too twisted to tell anyone that isn’t his best friend, so that leaves Eddie back at square one, stewing in it alone.
tagging @poppypickle @sofa-king-lame @soliadiaz @luins and of course, anyone else who wants to share!
Thanks for the tag @hannimals! 👋
The last thing I wrote is, INEXPLICABLY, some Tommy Kinard POV nonsense that will probably never see the light of day. I just can’t get over the fact that he thought Buck was into Eddie AND that Eddie is gay. Like sir, what are you even DOING there?
He’s not Evan’s therapist and he’s definitely not Diaz’s, but he still gets stuck helping them unpack their bullshit all the same.
Tagging @crose84 @atanearerdistance @cfr749 @itsoneofthemuses @goodgirlssayiloveyoutoo @rememberthismomentx @melting--skywards @buckupbuttercup
No pressure!
Thanks for the tag, @poppypickle! (although sadly, mine is chenford, not your beloved buddie)
"... Because the only person you walked away from was me, and looking back, it's hard not to think you always had one foot half out the door.”
This feels a little like cheating because the whole "WIP" is a single paragraph of dialogue that I had to get out of my head so you're getting dropped into the last sentence without context. But anyway!
@farfarawaygirl @jakelovesamy @rufeepeach @universallongings @wordybee
Never any pressure! I tagged at random.
The Money Tubbs only comes around every 5628 seconds. Reblog the Money Tubbs and you’ll find money!
Bitttchhh the last time I reblogged some bullshit like this I booked a 2k 30minute shoot lmao
I received 2k 2 days after reblogging this
Rules: without naming them, post a gif from ten of your favorite films. I was tagged by the ever so enchanting @onlymylovesurvive
I'm tagging @poppypickle @goodgirlssayiloveyoutoo @detectivechen @rememberthismomentx @farfarawaygirl and, of course, anyone else interested in doing this.

Summary:
So much of parenthood is beautiful, while at the same time exhausting and often all consuming, and it's easy to let their marriage get lost in the thick of it.
It's why mornings like this are so important to her. Just a few moments alone to be just them. No interruptions. Tim and Lucy. Husband and wife.
It helps the ache that comes with missing him. And she does. Miss him.

a/n: A friend, hoping to spark some creativity, hosted a mini promptathon and months later, I am slowly getting around to editing and posting the little oneshots and drabbles I managed to come up with. This was written in approximately September 2023.
summary: Lucy miscalculated or misread or just plain made a mistake. She had really truly believed they were waiting, anticipating, the same future. She had been wrong. She'd probably be wrong again in the future, but for now, it was time to focus on moving on.
It's that time of the year...
But also, given some of the complicated feelings being expressed in the fandom lately, it feels like it's only fair to mention our teeny, tiny discord of discontent in case people want a community where they can chat and debrief in real time.
If you’re interested in joining a discord community where we discuss The Rookie and chenford in a way that can be critical (or perceived as negative because criticism seems to equal negative these days), we are once again extending an invite.
The discord has been around since just before S5 started and my supremely biased take is that it’s a fun place to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the writing, how misogyny and racism play out in the show, the highs and lows of fandom, when the show is successful and when it fails at tackling challenging topics (like racism, police brutality, fertility, etc.) and any other criticisms or accolades you might have.
I do think it’s important to note that this is a discord for adults and adult topics and we all expect to engage politely, even when we’re ranting. If your default is to get immediately defensive of the show or characters or even your own opinion or feelings, this might not be the best fit and that’s okay!
If you’re interested in joining, comment or send me, @onlyforchenford, or @goodgirlssayiloveyoutoo a DM :)
P.S. The discord is relatively small and while it has periods of high activity, it’s not constantly hopping!

Yes, hi, it’s me again.

Thought it might be time to put this out there again...
This isn’t commonly known but one of the rings of hell is actually being in a fandom wherein the popular bloggers have the worst opinions known to man that everyone else parrots
I should add: the worst opinions known to man that go unchallenged bc if you challenge them you’re practically blacklisted or otherwise scorned
I did a little fic dump... The whole series (not yet completed, fics are all unrelated) is here (I have included a poll because I hit the button by accident and I can't delete it on mobile)
What's your preference around fic posts?
one post per fic
a bunch of fics linked in the same post
something else
Individual fics linked below the cut.
WIP Wednesday
Share the last line of your WIP, with no context!
I was tagged by the lovely and talented @relentlessescapism!
This is a fic I did for a promptathon but... It feels incomplete so I'm just sort of sitting on it, waiting for more inspiration!
"I wasn't flirting!" He sounds a little angry, but it just reads as defensive to Lucy. She thinks it says something that his immediate go-to response is a denial of responsibility. She thinks back to her rookie year when he told her he was mad at himself for the way he treated those gardeners and she laments the loss of the man who took accountability, who acknowledged his wrongs and promised to do better.
As usual, anyone who wants to get in on this, please do. And I'll tag some of the people who push, pull, chase, inspite, and help me in the meantime - @goodgirlssayiloveyoutoo, @onlyforchenford, @farfarawaygirl, @detectivechen, and @write-or-wrong88
RULES: Post the last sentence you wrote (fanfic / original / anything) and tag as many people as there are words in the sentence.
I don't know what's happening, or why, but I got tagged by two wonderful writers (and people, they're decent people, too, I guess - @rememberthismomentx & @cfr749) for the last sentence tag game. Honest to god, I have no idea what the last sentence I wrote is, so this is actually going to be two random lines from two different fics... Tags at the end.
But right now, all Lucy can manage to dredge up even as the stunting sensation of numbness starts to set in is a mild feeling of stunned resentment. Resentment toward Jerry who should've retired years ago. Resentment toward Ashley who looks perfect and carefree, not weighted down by grief and trauma. Resentment toward Tim who made her hope, who let her dream, only to concede to his fear, or his guilt, or whatever it is and leave her waiting for a love he's not willing to give.
(this was written months ago, set way back in S4, but holy, does it feel... something after that last episode)
And for my second tagger...
"Of course not, it's never about *you*." She croons the words in a cloying, maliciously obsequious tone. "If it was, you'd have to face the truth and grow as a person, and Tim Bradford hates growth." She sees the hit land but he shakes it off because if there's one thing Tim Bradford is good at it, it's taking a hit.
Welp, I posted a bit more than one sentence for each of those, and I don't know that many people since I'm not super active on here, but I'll give tagging a go (with the usual caveats that anyone who would like to should participate)... @poppypickle, @doomedship, @paperbackribs, @kakejiszkas, @jakelovesamy
