So I think the finale of Widow’s Bay is a GREAT example of how a plot twist that’s pretty obvious can still be well done and a rewarding reveal.

Like, we all saw that coming from the jump, but it was delivered with such STYLE… the fact that suddenly what seemed to be a bunch of minor, pass-you-by details took on new meaning with the information revealed… and the fact that the show kept you off balance with a different quandary and then went “Nnnnnno, actually, it IS the one you were thinking of and we’re connecting the pieces” was SO good.

It went from “Huh I guess they’re not gonna do it” to “OH MY GOD WAIT-“ and I loved it

Yeah! Can’t wait for next season… it’s gonna be wild

how did they successfully make Ruth the most charming character in the show in the span of half an episode. “this one takes 27 minutes to steep” she has a picture of evan on her fridge. she does story club. every boss she ever had made a pass including a nun. “I loved him… but he got bit by an animal and turned into that animal” She drops the most beautiful true to life philosophy in the show so far. She has to be Unkillable (spoken with the gritted teeth of someone with 28 minutes left in the episode)
