Having a job is an awesome way to stay hydrated because you get so bored you start drinking water just for a little excitement
i do think what gets ignored about carrie as a character is that sheâs an incredibly easy target to bully; sheâs a chubby, sheltered acne ridden teenage girl who wears frumpy grandma clothes and regurgitates the jesus freak shit her violently abusive mother tells her. she has violent thoughts about her classmates and is uncomfortable to be around. sheâs far more interesting being a victim thatâs somewhat uncomfortable to be in the head of than a tragic waif. sheâs not a martyr, sheâs a child and a child whoâs been victimised her whole life shouldnât have to be kind and angelic to be recognised as a victim. suffering teenage girls shouldnât just be presented on screen as toned down glamorous thin ophelias, suffering teenage girls can be fat and poor and think violently. i do think we need to examine why culturally we need teenage girls to be beautiful and kind to valorise their suffering and treat it as bad
This is what I was alluding to when I discussed that the volume of name changes you have to make as a trans person highlights the ridiculous amount of documentation attached to you.
screw bedtime đđ tonight we are staying up until 9pm
the kids are calling them "stone fruits." they start off smallâthink cherries. then they're hooked and they need a quick fix, they get peaches, maybe some nectarines. it's all they can think about. before you know it, they're trying the really hard stuffâapricots, plums. once they taste a mango there's no going back.
If ppl read fiction theyâd realize their unique crises r actually just the core of being alive
June and July are the same months btw. They want you to think they're two different months but it's the same month that's 60 days long. Same way August is actually August and the first half of September
are you okay i noticed you reblogging "a raven with a damaged wing. it can still fly with ease" again
so cool how advanced the algorithm has become, it literally only takes like a decade or more of spying on all my internet activity and then it can expertly curate a selection of 15-20 youtube videos that i don't really want to watch, and then keep showing me those videos over and over again for a week so i can scroll past them again. the future is now
lol. lmao even.
Wilson adds: âNolanâs Odyssey lacks many of the elements that make the poem great. It has nothing convincing to say about time, memory, history, war, or about the relationship between one warriorâs glorious return and the lives of his family, adversaries, comrades, friends and neighbours. It lacks psychological, emotional, political and ethical depth. Its narrative structure is gimmicky. The writing is abysmal. None of the characters has convincing motivation for their actions or words. There are no sex scenes, and all the food looks horrible.â
