What if Raphael kissed Tav in front of an ascended Astarion to make him jealous?
I have so many ideas of how Tav and Raphael's first kiss could have gone. This one is set post break-up with AA.
Tav froze, just for a heartbeat, but that was all it took for Raphael to notice.
His gaze followed hers, his mouth curling into a knowing smile when he saw the vampire.
"Ahh. It's such a small, cruel world, isn't it?"
"Don't," Tav murmured.
"Don't what?" He took a sip of wine, watching her over the rim. "Don't notice how you've gone still and your jaw is tighter than a patriar's purse strings? Or that you're still holding your breath?"
"I'm fine."
"Of course you are." He stepped forward, closer than was required. "But let's play pretend anyway. Just for tonight."
"And what exactly are we pretending?"
"That you've moved on. That you're... indecently mine. "
She narrowed her eyes. "And is this little ruse for your benefit? Or for his?"
"Can it not be both? Can you not indulge me whilst ensuring he can't take his eyes off you at the same time?"
He lifted her chin until her eyes met his, looking at her like he saw every part she didn't want the rest of the world to see.
"You're enjoying this too much," she muttered.
"Hmm. But perhaps not for the reasons you think."
She let her palms rest lightly against his chest.
"So what would you do then? If I were indecently yours for the evening?"
"I'd kiss you," he said simply. "Right here. Slow enough to make him ache. Real enough to make you forget he ever mattered."
She leant in, close enough to feel his breath on her lips.
His arm slipped around her waist, pulling her flush to his chest, and then he leaned down and kissed her.
It was slow, as promised, his lips parting over hers.
Her eyes fluttered closed as she gave in to the press of his mouth. And the world fell silent, the ache in her chest slipping away.
She told herself it was performance, that it was nothing more than playing along with a devilâs game.
But it didnât feel like nothing. It felt like fire after frost. Winter snow melting under the first rays of spring.
Raphael opened his mouth, his tongue daring to coax hers open. As much for himself as it was an audience.
His little mouse deserved that much, didnât she? To make the vampling pine, if only a little?
Heâd never cared for the pale wretch, so why not toy with him? Just for fun.
That was the story he told himself.
But there was another reason.
An itch beneath his skin. The moment her mouth parted for him only confirming what he had been trying not to name.
That despite a lifetime of scouring himself clean of mortal weakness, he seemed to be falling victim all the same.
it's 2 am which means it's time for p's yearning hours since i have a horrible sleep schedule. Anyway.
imagining dwight up late, reading one of his sci fi novels or comics that the entity graced him with (maybe it was a special occasion, like his birthday or the anniversary of him first entering the fog, anyway, she gave it to him as a special gift) by flashlight, snuggled up in his sleeping bag.
then, you shuffle in next to him and he places the book down briefly, so you crawl into his arms, laying your head against his shoulder and placing your arms around his torso.
uughngn and he wraps his arm around you and picks his book back up, but not before giving you a small smooch on your forehead. so you smile up at him, but stay silent so he can read in peace (i mean, who knows how long it's been since he's had some form of entertainment in the fog)
I found out yesterday that people have previously mocked my art in Rolan Fan servers, and actively campaigned to keep me from joining. I donât know them, or what I did to hurt them, but I truly hope that they never experience having their artwork disparaged. May I never hate myself so much that I would stoop that low about someone else.

Y/N had spent the better part of a year knowing that this day would someday come. However, it still broke them to their core when it eventually arrived.
Higgs stood in front of them then, head bowed, a gentle smile on his face.
âIâm finally going to do it,â he said.
Y/N shook their head.
âWhy?â they pleaded.
âCâmon darlinâ,â he lightly reprimanded, âItâs what I was meant for. My destiny.â
Y/N turned from him and stalked back to the entrance of their bunker. Timefall had just recently stopped, the ground outside wet and stinking of chiralium.
âYouâre an idiot,â Y/N stated, stopping at the top of the stairs, âSam will kill you.â
âIâve got the end on my side honey,â he drawled. âJust wanted to see you one last time. Wanted toâŠâ he trailed off.
Y/N couldnât even bring themself to look at him again. For the entire time that they knew Higgs, he had spoken about bringing about the Last Stranding. The end. True death for them all.
He believed it was his destiny, as Amelie had put into his head. He played the part of puppet well, his own cruelty invigorated by that of the Extinction Entity.
âDonât be like that,â he said, voice going quiet.
âLike what?â Y/N retorted coldly. âWe arenât anything. You want to go get yourself killed chasing a pathetic dream? Go. Do it. Just leave me out of it.â
Y/N quickly stepped down onto the top stair leading into their home. Just as fast, an arm grabbed them from behind. Higgsâ grip was strong, and painful. He forced them back; to look him in the eye.
âYou say weâre nothing,â he growled, âbut when you cry out my name like a goddamn prayer every time we fuck?â Cruelty dripped from his words. âWhen I kiss you all soft, and you melt into me, like weâre somethinâ real.â He shook his head. âYou act indifferent, but I know it fucking kills you every time I leave.â
It felt like a punch to the gut. Y/N hated him then for messing with their emotions like that. They hated themself even more for falling victim to it.Â
He scoffed.
âYou donât get it, do you?â he continued. âWhat Iâm doinâ? What Iâm after?â
Y/N glared at him. A lump formed in their throat as their tears threatened to make an entrance. They didnât trust their voice not to shake, so they continued to stare, waiting for him to continue.
âWeâre fuckinâ doomed. Iâm just speedinâ up the process,â he snarled. âWhatâs the point in continuinâ all this bullshit, if itâs all just gonna go away someday?â
He squeezed Y/Nâs arm harder, pulling them closer, into his chest.
âBest be part of the explosive finale,â he flashed his teeth at them in a wicked smile. âIâm doinâ us a favor.â
âYouâre fucking insane.â
He cocked his head slightly.
âAinât nothinâ new sweetheart.â
Y/N closed their eyes and let out a breath that they had been holding. Over the past year, the two had developed an intense⊠rivalry. Relationship was far too kind a word for it. Friends; too detached.
They fucked like they hated each other, but their eyes always told a different story. He never stayed after, leaving Y/N feeling used. It wouldnât be until the next time they saw each other that Y/N realized they had been hoping to run into him again. His smile alone caused their stomach to twist in the most delightful way, every time.
Y/N always knew the truth; it wouldnât last. His plans for the end made sure of that. They tried to detach themselves from Higgs. To not feel for him in the way that they started fearing they did. It never truly worked, he had his grip in deep.
Higgs shifted, his tight hold on Y/Nâs arm starting to bruise.
âNeeded to tell ya something,â he said, less harsh this time.
âI donât want to hear it.â
âYeah, you do.â
Y/N did. And they cursed themself further.
Higgs reached up, grip loosening from Y/Nâs arm. He placed his hands on Y/Nâs shoulders, thumbs rubbing small, lazy circles.
âI enjoy you and me.â
Y/Nâs heart fluttered, and they forced the sensation away. No. They couldn't indulge this. Higgs was quicksand; one wrong move and Y/N wouldnât be able to breathe. Best to avoid the pit altogether.
âThere is no you and me,â they forced out.
âIs that right?â he asked, unfazed, his soft touch on their shoulders distracting Y/N from the pain in their arm.
âThere isnât.â
Higgs leaned forward at that, hands dropping to grip Y/Nâs sides. He closed the distance quickly, pressing his lips sweetly to theirs. Y/N instinctively kissed back, the softness of his kiss dissolving away all reason.
He pulled away.
âInterestinâ,â he mused.
Y/Nâs eyebrows furrowed. Regaining their composure, they felt their anger start to bubble up within them again. This man was about to march off to his stupid, pointless death, and yet here he was, making Y/N want to beg him to stay. What a fool they had become. They knew they should've guarded their heart better than this, but Higgs had a way of breaking down Y/Nâs defenses until they were left open; raw and vulnerable.
In a perfect world, Y/N would accept him. Take him in and love him for all they could. And in that perfect world, Higgs would allow himself to be loved. To be held, and believe in a better tomorrow.
But the world wasnât perfect, and neither were the two of them.
âI love you,â he confessed, eyes holding theirs with an intensity Y/N had not seen in him before.
A beat passed.
âW-what?!â Y/Nâs mind, blank as a white canvas, could not comprehend what they had just heard.
âYeah,â he laughed, casually, âCouldnât believe it myself either.â
Y/N didnât know how to respond. They knew deep down they held feelings for Higgs, unexplored and dangerous. They always knew it could never be; that Higgs himself would never confront it.
Yet he just did.
Tears stung in Y/Nâs eyes then; verging on the precipice of spilling over.
âThen stay,â they whispered, a futile plea.
His hands dropped from their sides. Higgs took a step back, and stared at Y/N, expression unreadable.
Then, almost, a hint of sadness flashed across his eyes.
âWhen death comes for us, Iâll find you,â he promised.
Tears finally spilled down Y/Nâs cheeks, in heartache and rage.
âIt doesnât have to be like that!â Y/N took a step forward, once again closing the distance between them. âJust fucking stay. Fuck Amelie, fuck Sam and Fragile. Fuck Bridges, fuck all of it!â They grabbed the front of his cloak with both hands, knuckles turning white from anger, voice laced with desperation. âStay, please.â
Higgs said nothing for a moment.
Then he smiled.
âI knew it,â he chided. âFeels good, knowinâ I was right.â His eyes narrowed, as he towered over Y/N. âBreakinâ your heart feels even better.â
âWhat?âÂ
âYou love me too,â he bared his teeth, a downright evil look to him. âYou always acted like I ainât had that effect on ya. But, turns out,â he poked their chest, âI did.â
Y/N stared at him, words unable to form in their throat.
âLike I said,â he continued, âI feel the same.â He shrugged, âbut duty calls. I got a date with destiny, and her name is Amelie.â
Y/N felt even more of a fool then. They stepped willingly into his trap, and now they were being dragged down by the quicksand, suffocating. They gave him one final victory, and it cost them their heart.
It hurt even worse because he was right. It was love they felt for him, in some sick, twisted way. It only took him confessing his love, for Y/N to accept theirs.
They let go of him then, and stepped backwards, head dropping. Y/Nâs posture screamed defeat, and Higgs delighted in the sight.
âIâll find you,â he promised again, voice uncannily soft.
Y/N couldnât speak, couldnât even bring themself to look up at him.
Higgsâ fingers lifted their chin, and their eyes found each other.
He leaned forward, and gave them one final, hungry kiss. This one was not soft like the one earlier. His lips crashed against Y/Nâs, a fervent edge to it. His tongue swiped at their bottom lip, and Y/N allowed him entrance. Their tongues danced to a wild tune that only they could hear.
He pulled away, leaving Y/N breathless.
And then, he was gone.

It had been months since that final kiss; the world had not ended, Y/N had not died, and Higgs had not found them.
Y/N refused porter work, not caring for what the world had to offer anymore. Calls from Fragile went unanswered, their home becoming nothing short of a prison of their very own creation. Y/Nâs heart had been stolen away by a bandit who made it clear he was nothing more than a thief from the very beginning.
And they loved him still. Of course they did. Higgs was cruel like that.
