Tabata - The 4-Minute Fat-Burning Miracle Workout. Doing as little as 4 minutes (or one “Tabata”) can help you burn more fat than a traditional 60-minute aerobic workout. That’s right—4 minutes of Tabata can get you better fitness gains than an entire hour of running on the treadmill. The trick to getting all these benefits is the level of intensity. To do a Tabata, all you have to do is pick a cardio activity such as running, jumping rope, or biking and go as hard as you can for 20 seconds.Follow that with 10 seconds of rest and repeat seven more times. And when I say “as hard as you can go,” I mean 100-percent maximal intensity. By the end of the 4 minutes you should feel like you’re going to die.

Most Effective Cardio Workout - Tabata Style…VIDEO
The tabata protocol! I dunno why I'm such a fan.
We’ve got another HIIT challenge this week to get you moving and burning extra fat. Try this Tribesports Challenge and log it here when you’ve done it! You can do it!!!

And after that week, I'll do this. Hah.
Hopefully the old one is not being reblogged anymore because this is the new and improved and better one! With more weight training and less cardio! Woo!! Monday: Cardio/Core/Full Body Workout
HIIT (running) 15 minutes
4 sets of 14 Russian Twists 4 sets of 14 V Crunches 4 sets of 14 Bicycle...
I dunno, I like making my plan up as I go and varying it so I don't plateau too badly. But this could be a very fun week.
Foam roller massage for runners. This is an awesome illustration. Credit goes out to Runner’s World Magazine for this. If you haven’t tried massaging with a foam roller, try it once. You’ll be surprised by how good it feels.
So I'm super cheap and bought a PVC pipe instead of a foam roller. It *hurts*, so I listened to Kelly Starrett and practiced my nasal breathing and solipsism to get through it. Still. Ouch.
I take it back. This woman is intense enough to do whatever she wants with her lower back.
Not gonna give too much critique seeing as I can't do more than four of these, but shouldn't her pelvis be tucked a little more?
I'm always after inner thigh workouts -- riding is great but there are days that I am not super effective as a rider
Free no-equipment visual workouts for all fitness levels.
In the vein of inner thigh workouts, this one is hard to interpret:
So here's my best go at it:
Ankle tap, 20 repetitions. A quick YouTube search reveals that there is no such exercise, but I think they want you to crouch to the ground like some sort of marmont and practice your internal and external leg rotations. I don't really know. See the picture above for more clarification.
Double Leg Blaster, 20 repetitions. For real? This one also isn't on YouTube. This is a weird twisty side-plank-to-bird-dog in motion that when I attempted it, wondering if I should videotape myself as an educational tool, I pretty much broke my nose. So good luck, Fitblrs.
Pretzel plank, 20 repetitions. This at least appears to be a thing, but the lady doing it doesn't look anything like the picture above. Whatevs. Make up a page full of unknown exercises and advertise it to the world.
Thigh trimmer, 20 repetitions. Ow.
Okay so actually I take back this whole inner thigh thing and instead recommend this lady. She's peppy. I like her.
My goal is to hit 20% body fat by the end of June and that means I've got pretty much 33% of all my fat to lose. Uck.
