Was looking for a Jack quote for an edit and came across this beautiful relic:

Alicia or Bob being a surprise guest commentator at one of Jack’s games without him knowing(but it’s funnier to me if Alicia is the guest). It’s during one of those “Hockey Night in Canada” games. A player is mic’ed up (be it Jack himself or an opposing player).

The opposing team players makes a chirp towards Jack about his mom. The mic pics it up and Alicia(or Bob) hear it. Commotion from the commentators box ensues and the “guest” commentator gets a hold of the PA system and shouts.

“COME AND SAY THAT TO MY FACE CHICKENHEAD!!!”

After this the player is forever known as “chickenhead”

I don’t think we talk about this frame enough:

Every time I see it I ALWAYS focus on Bitty, because there’s so much emotion right there. This is the first (and really only) time we see Bitty outright crying. There’s so much going on with him and we’re supposed to pay attention to him. He’s in the forefront.

But Jack. This is after he yells BITTLE and gets no response. Bitty didn’t hear him. This is before he sees Bitty in what is now Chowder’s room. This is the panel where his heart breaks and he realizes he missed his chance.

Ngozi could have just left the panel blank - no speech bubbles. We still would have known that Jack paused here before he turned around. But no, she deliberately put in a silent speech bubble because it’s important that we know Jack might not be speaking, but his mind is going a million miles an hour.

He’s not here.

Oh God, he’s not here.

I waited all this time.

You’re an idiot, Jack.
