it’s strange how “you’re so fun to be around”, “you’re really smart” never feels quite enough. it’s doesn’t feel enough when everyone that surrounds you gets “you’re gorgeous”, “you’re so beautiful”.

it’s so frustrating being a background character, looking in the mirror and wondering what the fuck is actually wrong with your appearance.

because you know that you’re smart. you know that you have a decent personality and you know you’re not 100% ugly.

but it hurts because there’s always someone prettier, someone funnier, someone less awkward, someone who captures other’s attention effortlessly and doesn’t stand invisible right in front of them.

but you accept it. you accept that there’s some things that can’t change. sometimes you’re just background noise.
