sometimes you just want to look at the qing dynasty jadeite cabbage again
here she is!
[ID: a sculpture of a chinese cabbage carved from a piece of two-tone white-and-green jadeite, resting on an intricate wooden stand /end ID]
The jadeite cabbage is housed at the Taipei National Palace Museum in Taiwan. Its historical origins are not well documented, however it likely belonged to Jin Fei, who was a consort of the Qing Dynasty. The cabbage was taken to Taiwan during the Chinese Civil War. I still remember the first time I laid eyes on Mr Cabbage in person. We went to the Palace Museum earlier this year but missed him by a week.

linkedin makes me want to throw up
it's funny how I get face blindness sometimes. the first time we were introduced, he stood up from his desk, looked at me with an intense gaze, but didn't say a word. i remember being struck by how handsome he was. we didn't interact for months until his role switched, and we met again for an online meeting. it wasn't until a week later that i realised that he was the same person as the one i met all those months ago.
