Have I missed much?” they almost launch into an anxiety induced, fake, overdone explanation of why they’re late, then bite their tongue instead. maybe no one noticed. or will say anything.]

[For the past couple hours, Carolyn has been staring at the wall and thinking.

Not about anything in particular and not particularly hard, they just began to zone out as time ticked away. Their train of thought started somewhere in Artume. From there it went to home, to the Campanile, to this summer, to UCLA, to Mexico, to homemade fajitas, and cooking club, and Ai, and friends, and classes, and back to Berkeley, and then they blinked and the clock that had said 5:30 pm just a second ago now said 9:56.

They’re late to the bonfire, sneaking in to take a seat wherever there’s room. Their mind is still racing with thoughts about nothing.]

California was absolutely splendid of course it always is beautiful in the summertime, you know Mark Twain has a famous saying about San Francisco in the summertime and it’s absolutely true; seeing their family was wonderful it feels like so long since they’ve had a good break with them And Then suddenly they cut themselves off and realize they’re Infodumping to poor Arash, and sheepishly ask how his summer was before taking a dainty sip of her drink.]

[Carolyn arrives at the party in another one of their blue and gold vintage 40s party dresses (wrong era, but still on brand) and a classic navy clutch. They’re a lot more confident and comfortable at the party this year, stopping every time they see someone they know to greet and ask how their summer was.]

[Carolyn hears of a new resident moving into Artume and is Immediatly excited. After finishing classes for the day, they knock on Ivanya’s door and, should she open, greets her with a friendly smile and a small homemade door decoration. “Nice to see a new face!” Carolyn says. “I’m Caroloyn Muñoz and I live right down the hall, should you need anything don’t hesitate to ask!”] @divinedramedy

we are not born to die!! what are you talking about!! do you think a book begins just to finish? do you think a song opens with a beautiful chord just for it to end? you don’t read the book to finish it, you read the book to eat up the excitement and the emotions it evokes!! to learn and to digest and to fall in love and be heartbroken!! you listen to the song to dance and dance and sing your throat raw!!! to cry and smile and swell with the harmonies!! yes, we are born with the inevitable fate of death, we are mortal after all, but that is merely the finale of the play!! the final act, the closing of the curtains - we are not born to take a bow and exit stage left!! we are born to love and be joyous and yell and move and learn and cry and feelfeelfeel!!!  we are not born to die, silly, we’re born to live!!!
