TWO johnkat pieces for bestie in exchange for equius in tomodachi life 😍🙏
this was me in the eights grade on a school's computer
vrisquius is a perfect ship because they're the definition of "thank you for dating eachother so nobody else has to date you" and them being together would ultimately relive aradia from two worst people in her life. an act of charity if you think about it
no equius, aradia is not the love of your life. but vriska is. dont lower your standards and get yourself that blueblooded girl. NEVER get woke
equius zahhak is my persian princess
Acknowledging misogyny is not sexualizing or romanticising it, that guy was odd for that. I appreciate your willingness to think about the fact that the murderers in the murder fandom are capable of being bad in ways that people don't find as fun and sexy to ignore as murder
thank you! i don't understand the reaction either, as all I've done was acknowledge the fact that serial killers turning out to be sexual predators is not unrealistic and sexual assault should not be portrayed in a fetishized way. but somehow it got turned into me taking away a safe space from people, though I've never pushed my ideas on anyone, nor have I said they're wrong for not portraying creepypastas as rapists.
"but the fandom doesn't want you to think that" is merely a filler expression, yet it was taken as a personal attack on those in here
as funny as it is to call jeff the whitest and the least logical creepypasta character, I believe his story is a great example of a mental illness that's been ignored and brushed off as "he was just born this way" and later progressed into whatever he is now, as no one is born evil
and I don't think it's right to say creepypastas wouldn't be misogynistic because
a. most of them grew up in a disfunctional environment, probably with bad examples of their parents
b. a lot of them are textbook psychopaths, that either don't understand or don't care for social norms, so they would either not care about misogyny or find it entertaining, as it gives them social power
c. most of the events happen in 2000s-early2010s with most characters being teen boys. this one is self explanatory i think
american/english speaking fandom either hates equius of forgets about him, while post ussr/russian speaking fandom sexualises him, but what both do is ignore the complex writing
I guess because most Homestuck readers are american. So for americans it's very easy to associate Equius with native americans, because that's probably the first reference point they have in their minds when it comes 'boys who wear their hair long'. That being said yeah I think interpreting him as persian or even turkish is just a better choice. Both of these nations had large burgeoning empires which fits well with Equius' caste based psychological issues.
exactly ! but even from an american viewpoint, there's nothing even remotely native about him aside from long hair and love for horses (which is a trait commonly associated with native americans, yes, however everything is contextual and you can't claim equius to be a certain race based off of these two characteristics)
not to mention he's also a privileged enough racist, who tries to separate himself from the lower class as much as possible, while still acknowledging that highbloods have power over him (do we remember persians comparing themselves to arabs on the internet, calling the latter group 'dark' or 'uncivilised' and stating that they're nothing alike? yeah)
so no, in my mind he's not native, as it doesn't fit his caste nor does it explain certain psychological aspects well enough
never understood why people hc equius as native when there's so much to interpret as him being persian
1. not white enough to be viewed as such by european white people, but white enough to be racist to everyone else
2. weird behaviour and ovesexualisation of everything can be explained by growing up around islamic culture
3. his last name is literally zahhak, which is a character from persian mythology
