Hey X-Men 97 writers, you are at some point going to let Morph have the same kind of badass, beautifully animated fight scenes that the other characters have all gotten, and not just "Shapeshifts into Thor and swings a hammer once" right? Remember that one episode in X-Men TAS season 4 where Morph took out several Sentinels and Mastermolds head on mechanical spider-legs by themself? Just soloed that shit, only a few hours after having a PTSD-related panic attack? I remember! (I'm hoping we'll get it in Episode 5, which seems to be the Wolverine and Morph episode of this season.)

I feel like I'm getting greedy, though.

Me back when X-Men 97 was first announced: Oh please, X-Men writers, don't forget that Morph exists on the show! Let them be part of the story, even if it's just one guest star episode per season! I'll be happy with that.

Me now: Morph should be the star of every episode. When Morph's not on-screen, other characters should be asking, "Where's Morph?"

I really love how the relationship between these two evolved. Wish we'd had more of it! This is also kind of a character study of both Lionel and Martha as individuals. With plenty of Martha and Jonathan, too (they're just so sweet, not to mention central to the story.) I guess I like how, even though Lionel and Martha have lost so much or made mistakes, they offer each other a way to move forwards.

Like okay, lemme ramble. In s2 she shows him a rare bit of kindness and he offers her a way to expand her horizons, and that kind of carries forward by the time s5-6 roll around. For Martha, finding in him what's honestly her only friend, in a time when she's so alone (after Jonathan's passing), and then on the other hand it's the only truly positive relationship we ever see Lionel have. Martha gives him that chance and he takes it. She's his first real friend since perhaps Morgan Edge (I read them as having been very close) with the key difference being that she brings out the best in him. (And similarity, I suppose, being that they help each other rise out of a bleak situation.) Regardless of his initial intentions, Lionel really came to cherish that friendship and wanted to offer her opportunities like used to dream of—because she's an ambitious person, too, and he recognizes that. So he helps her on her way, even if it means having less time together. I dunno, really loved it. :)

On a more serious note, though, I don't ship-shame people and I'd like to preemptively ask that doesn't happen here. If we interact with something enough, the algorithm will send us related things, and those might be things we don't like or agree with.

In this case...yeah, I can see why someone might ship them. Two words: Victoria Hardwick.

Canon!Lionel knew Lex was dating Victoria, and he still slept with her. If Lionel thought that was the interest Lex had in Clark, he could conceivably pull the same stunt just to get one over on Lex.

Or it could just be people playing with their Barbie dolls 🤷‍♀️

Oooooh I love this. However, I believe that IF Charles lost Erik he'd lose his ever loving shit. I think he'd drink, be deep into denial until the humans decide that without Magneto in the way they push forward so many segregation and anti-mutant bills that everyone looks at Charles and Charles just. . . He loses it. Even Kelley who tries to stop the others can't and isn't safe from Charles's wrath. The world would change and a herold Magneto coming back to see the world knowing Charles caused it and Charles is the reason humans are superior. . . . Mutants have mercy.

I believe there is a reason we always see Magneto surviving after a death of Charles in most x-men media and never vise versa as Charles losing Erik is not a world anyone is prepared for
