The angst of horseman Erik just being… resigned to the fact that he is a monster like the ones that killed his family and so many of his people ( both Jewish and mutant) and Charles trying to convince him that is not true

To quote the great Jude Duarte "If I can be better than them I will become so much worse"

Though for Magnus, he never meant to turn into this. Truly he didn't. But if he cant be better than the monsters from his childhood he will make their descendants know a true monster.

Charles, on the other hand, knows Magnus to his core. Knows him. Knows he is better, has done better. And he will give til his last breath to show/convince Magnus of that by any means. Even if it means he has to die by Magnus's hand to do so.

It makes me sick to my fucking stomach thinking about “it makes me sad Logan.” Morph is the only character I can recall ever thinking that Logan was more than just an animal. Everyone thinks of Logan as an animal, from strangers to enemies and rivals to even his friends and partners. I haven’t read a lot of the comics admittedly, maybe there’s been arcs or instances of people saying there’s more to Logan than just being an animal, or that it isn’t all he is, but the fact that it was Morph who said that just breaks my heart. Morph more than anyone knows what it’s like to be used for their abilities, to be seen as One Thing or even nothing at all because of what they can do. And it hurts that Logan has never been able to see that, even when the person who loves him can

So I started this sketch absolute ages ago (last November or so) but only got around to finishing it this past month. I was going through old sketches and this one drew me back in. I had a lot of fun last time I did a drawing based off an old painting (Fallen Angel for anyone curious), and this one was equally fun.

The original painting (posted below the cut), entitled "The Meeting on the Turret Stairs" was done in gouache by Frederic William Burton. Reading up on the history behind the image reminded me of my old art classes. I honestly kind of miss it and probably will do more of these down the line (open to ideas/suggestions!).

I'm not sure how popular Rogue and Gambit's Excalibur looks are. But I personally love them! The layers and overall style is super fun (and honestly looks pretty comfy). I also LOVED that Rogue's cape has a somewhat similar feel to the dress from the original.

I am by no means a rogueneto shipper by any means, I love cherik and romy. But my mutants, in xmen '97 WASNT THEIR RELATIONSHIP CONSENSUAL?! I just saw a wild ass take from an anti Rogueneto (and possibly just anti magneto person) that Magneto forced Rogue cheat on Remy??? Hello?? Where those two wven together? If so, Magneto - to what I've seen - never once manipulated Rogue into being with him
