“You know very well I’m the last person who’d judge attire,” Elio retorted with a mildly a mused snort. “I’m being honest though, Izak.” His gaze flickered briefly in the mirror to Izak before returning to the road as he drove, not at all minding how close Izak was at the moment. As strong as the vampire was, Elio was rarely intimidated by others– certainly not vampires. He knew very well where he stood with others, and was comfortable with them quite often, thanks to his empathetic abilities. “Headed anywhere in a hurry tonight?” He knew Izak didn’t honestly need Elio’s services– at very least, the literal one of driving him to a destination.

“Mm. I appreciate your honesty,” Izak replied, gazing past Elio’s curious eyes to smooth down his hair. He had no reason to prim himself as such, but if it was obvious to the deity that Izak appeared in disorder, than he was not doing so well at masking himself. When Elio focused back to the road, Izak looked at him then, moving even closer through the small space. 

In close proximity, the deity’s scent was undiluted. Strong, whimsical, honey-like. The warmth it radiated reminded him of summers in the fields, a memory all but fading away as he continued to linger in the forsaken city. He was teetering on madness. Boredom and madness, and the council had robbed him of any sedation he could use for the time being, like a Band-Aid over a gaping wound.

When Elio spoke, Izak felt like he was being ripped from a trance. He hadn’t even realized he was stilled, lost in a statue-esque pose naturally perfected by undead hunters. “No. Why do you ask?”

Matthew was torn between pressing himself into Izak’s touch and pulling away from it and he had to close his eyes for a moment to break eye contact. It was all becoming too much. A small furrow appeared between his brows before the vampire seemed to start rambling and more words continued to spill from his lips. Words that were exciting, confusing and altogether terrifying at the same time.

The fingers of Matthew’s hand lifted to curl around Izak’s wrist as he spoke in some semblance of intimacy. But when the vampire’s words stopped, the pressure Matthew asserted around that wrist increased as if to stop the gentle caresses against his skin, touches that Matthew was not going to admit that he missed. “I find it difficult to believe given what you’ve been up to all night… And over the last few weeks.” His blue eyes had opened to level Izak with a cold stare, one he could not quite believe he was showing the other man. But Matthew had always been good at separating his emotions, sometimes even against his better judgement.

Izak stilled at Matthew’s grasp. Despite the heat radiating from his fingers, the touch felt brittle and distant. He was not privy to the true magic of the gardens, but it was becoming clear to Izak that it snared emotions, gluing them to their hosts. Whatever the person was feeling, they were victim to it, which only meant.... The vampire’s core turned to ice, and the sensation rippled across his sinews. What if his presence had uprooted something deeper in Matthew, something that Izak had chosen to ignore if he daydreamed about the demon too much. What if Matthew didn’t love him like the vampire loved him? He had been so keen to keep that desire down, but standing here in front of Matthew, in front of his love, bubbled those feelings to the surface.

His faint heart pounded wildly in his chest, and he curled his fingers into the hollow of Matthew’s neck. The beat of his pulse teased him, and he knew he shouldn’t have been holding the demon like this. Not when he looked at him like that. It was shattering and bewitching all the same, and Izak was confused on how to proceed. It was clear the demon elder was suffering silently, and all he could think about is that Matthew was slipping away further and further and further.

He stepped closer, his dark eyes latching onto Matthew’s brighter ones. In the dim light, they glistened like rare jewels or like the seas he fished in his human life. So intoxicating and ancient and beautiful. “Whatever you believe in that head of yours, know none of them matter like you do,” he said, barely above a whisper. He wanted to bite his tongue for even expressing that, but the potion was lacing his tongue. “They are the games I play when I’m bored. I would never put you on the same field. Matthew...I lo-”

He stopped himself and pulled his hand from his skin and grasp. He almost confessed those dreaded words, words that he knew would have the other man high-tailing out of his life. He didn’t believe in the true definition of a soulmate, but Matthew was the only person he had ever met that could make him change his mind. “I want you. Always and forever.”

An allure that only this set of supernatural creature had, and as he smiled he looked up at the man. “Maybe, but not every spell on a drink works the same, could have varying levels of dumb shit.” he shrugged. “No, but not being able to use magic doesn’t mean not being aware or even getting someone else to do it for you.” he chuckled. “You caught me, but my thoughts are still the same. Trusting random men with drinks? I’m a queer witch, there must be some who have old fashioned way of thinking, so i have to be careful. But I think you knew this, being a hot vampire and all.”

“Demon parties would not be so if there wasn’t a bit of mischief,” Izak replied, swirling the contents of his drink. He had already consumed the truth punch in an unrationalized manner. Izak was always so careful with everything he did. Each foot was placed deliberately in front of the other, and his eyes were always focused on the near future. And yet, tonight brought a side of him he hadn’t tapped into in over a hundred years. Possibly even more, considering his dark and risky behavior as a youthful fledgling. 

He pressed the lip of the glass to his mouth, eyeing the other an with a reserved interest. He snorted humorously before taking a sip. “I am afraid I don’t understand what you mean by old fashioned way of thinking, but I can assume you mean the injustice. I have been present and nearly arrested in many a-fair share of anti-homosexual raids.” He rolled his eyes in feint mockery. “I hope you aren’t comparing my appearance with magic-laced drinks. I do not know how to conjure, so your drink is safe with me.”

Having Elijah there definitely made her feel better about letting Izak touch her, even if the way he was looking between the two of them was enough of an indication that he was trying to get a rise out of her boyfriend. It was just a simple kiss on the hand, a very Gomez action to take. As long as he didn’t push things further than that, Persy wouldn’t argue. “Very short term planning, I wanted us to match and it took some convincing on Eli’s part but he looks dashing in this suit so it was worth it.” She looked up at the other witch with a warm smile, pressing a quick kiss to his cheek.

He couldn’t help a small grin at the kiss, and leaned his temple against Persy’s. “Things always do go better when I follow your plans. I guess you’ll just have to remind me of that more often.” That was truer than he would normally care to admit, the only influence from the costume was on his phrasing. “And what about you, Izak?” Elijah didn’t miss the fact that he was still holding Persy’s hand, but he was going to let her decide when she had enough. “Are none of your companions here as a match for you?”

Izak wanted to laugh, but he held the sound tight behind his teeth. Surely, these two, despite the obvious discomfort on their faces and their scents, did not take the vampire seriously in his pursuit. He stood straighter, kissing the back of Persy’s hand once more, following in response to her kissing Elijah. The witch elder was being quite civil of the situation. Surely if it were himself with a certain demon, he would have claimed the other in a jealous fit.

Not that he was the jealous type, of course. 

He smiled cleverly. “If I would have known I would run into you two like this, I would have had my bunny dress me in something else. Or, she may have done it knowing it might deter anyone from following me back home and being adopted.” He squeezed Persy’s hand in jest. “But, if I’m lucky, I may find someone willing to pretend to be my partner.” @persyweiss​ @eremington​

He was having his fun, drinking and kissing and flirting. After his conversation with his father earlier in the night, he had made sure to avoid being around him so he wouldn’t upset the older elf’s sensibilities with his actions. It was a party, after all, and parties were not the place for showing restraint in his opinion. Perhaps that was why he had made sure to flirt with everyone, new friends and old, even if they didn’t seem keen on returning the flirtation. There was one person he hadn’t spoken to yet that he was eager to flirt with, hardly getting a chance to in normal day to day life. 

“Izak,” he hummed in greeting as he approached the vampire, dropping the formal greeting he would generally use toward the elder. “I like your costume. A suave and charming gentleman, I’d almost guess you’re trying to woo someone if I didn’t know any better.” The costume was only slightly off theme, but he could be forgiven, especially when the party was all but drawing to a close. “Mind if I keep your company to myself for a little while?”

Twilight was bound to break the horizon at any moment, and for the first time in what felt like a hundred years, Izak was drained. Not in a bodily sense. Even being chased by Layla’s prized bull for hours was not enough to satiate his physical energy, and if it wasn’t for the personable needs of his blasted costume, he would have slunk out of the castle a while ago. It seemed that with the closing of this year, the harmony of his life was bound to end and a new era would emerge.

He mentally shrugged it off, smirking ever so gleefully as he lit another cigarette. The tendrils of smoke climbed the air in front of him, keeping him focused and out of his thoughts, and by whatever dark grace there was left of his luck, a familiar voice pulled him from the veil. He turned to the elf, pinpointing on the scent of his ethereal blood that brimmed closely to the surface. Out of all the creatures, elves had to be the most stingy with their blood, and Izak wouldn’t admit that it excited him when one was near. Hunting was a sport long lost to him, especially when everything was given to him so freely. He patted the stone bench next to him, crossing his long legs to allow more room. “I seemed to have come alone considering my costume belongs in a couple’s set, so you can say that I have been trying to find a wife for the night.” He chuckled lowly. “Please stay as long as you like. I was planning on leaving soon, so I’d love for you to wish me off.”

Demon. It was not the first time Izak called him as such, but it was the first time he had used such a tone with that word and it had Matthew’s eyes narrowing a fraction. It seemed like the vampire elder was still in a mood and something was off.

“This is not the first time I’ve come by unannounced.” I haven’t seen you in awhile. “I was told that you were making public appearances again.” Why didn’t you tell me yourself? There was more Matthew wanted to say but it was easier for him to use words that were less personal in the moment as he took a few measured steps towards the other man and reached a hand outwards. Matthew was still standing far enough that Izak would have needed to close the distance between them to take it. If he wanted to.

Izak rolled his cigarette from one corner of his mouth to the other, eyeing Matthew warily. Even under the cold, stoic guise, his faint heart still beat all the same when he was around Matthew. Even cutting his basic human emotions did nothing to quell the reaction, and his onyx eyes peered down at his outstretched hand. Had their night at the Spirit Party changed something in the other elder? The two weren’t necessarily lacking in the physical department, but it was obvious they refused to listen to the emotional side of things. Or, maybe this was Matthew needing some sort of grounding or to have Izak break under a single touch. He knew he was pausing for too long, and he could only guess if Matthew was distressed about him not reaching for him automatically. Izak was perceptive of his tone, even if the fallen’s words were carefully navigated. 

He exhaled the smoke, appearing like a vexed dragon, and he finally responded stepping forward, bypassing Matthew’s hand and into the demon’s bubble. He patted his cheek, though the motion was neither friendly or mocking. “Were you jealous that I did not come see you first? You could have come to call on me any time, and yet, you waited until you heard the rumor mill. I thought we had something more special than that.”

~ As he slowly turned to her, Viv could tell she might have struck a nerve. Whoops. Viv turned her body slightly in her barstool, resting the arm not holding her drink on it’s back rest. The young vampire looked up to him with confident eyes, glaring them slightly as he spoke. She was never one to back down, and given her current situation, it only made her feel the need to double down. Even if the man before her was the head vamp in charge around here, she refused to be talked to as such, and by a man no less. If Layla taught her anything it was that. The blonde passed a tongue on her teeth in thought, letting out a chuckle before cocking her head in annoyance. “If you’re so keen on that golden rule, maybe you should brush up on the other one. You know, the one the humans like to follow. Treat others how you want to be treated. I’m no expert on that one, but i’d say the humans are on to something there.” She eyes flared at that moment, wonder how big of a grave she was digging for herself but in that moment she didn’t care. “Maybe if you try to be a little nicer with yours and i’ll try to hold mine, my king,” she continued, maintaining eye contact as she spoke. gesturing with her hand as if to curtsy.

“You’re in a dog-eat-dog type of city here. The only golden rules are the ones the council created to make sure everyone stays in line. Those who don’t get nixed quickly and quietly. So, I don’t give a fuck about what humans do or say to avoid confrontation,” he growled. He stared down at the younger vampire for a second longer, taking in her scent and her look. He would be watching her closely, especially if she seemed keen to retort back to someone who clearly outmatched her. 

He exhaled a heavy breath to relieved his tension and he turned to the bartender, who gave him another drink. He spoke to him in Swedish, instructing him to tell the staff to keep an eye on the vampiress and to lace his drink with a couple drops of blood. He didn’t care so much if the other vampire could understand him, but the bartender obliged, whisking his drink away to the back to do as he was told. When he returned, Izak snatched his drink off the bar top. “I don’t have time to quarrel with some newborn. Remember to pay your tab and tip my staff or you’ll be receiving more than just a ban at my bar.” He turned on his heel and began to walk toward the private and more quiet VIP rooms.

As strange as it may sound, the vampire actually seemed to enjoy being hugged. She believed that it wasn´t the action of hugging itself, but the warmth it carried. A cold heart often craves the warmth of physical closeness more than creatures like them let on. Regardless, Isak was still a scary asshole that didn´t inspire the general public to get in his immediate vicinity. 

“ Izak!” Her tone carried a warning, without any intention to be threatening. If that had been the case the vampire would have known. Layla doesn´t make empty threats, she acts. His bloody collection of bunny bimbos. There were times when the demon had to pray for patience, not to fall into the throes of violence. Today she just laughed quietly.“ When will you stop with that bunny shit?" 

Gradually placing some distance between their bodies so that she could see his eyes Layla brought her hands to his face pulling his head down to look at her. ” What can I do to help you feel better?“ Direct questions were better than circling around the issue. He knocked at her door for a reason and probably wasn´t to be bombarded with stupid questions.

Izak chuckled deeply for the first time in what seemed like years. He wasn’t one for humor if the punchline wasn’t dark or teasing in some way, and though he knew the answer every single time he mentioned or asked her, her response still tickled him. He slid his hand down her long, dark hair, the softness of it a reprieve. He wouldn’t admit to it, but being close to Layla like this reminded him of the simple and rare times his human mother showed him any type of affection. His sire was callous and only praised Izak when he had not made a ferocious fool of himself. “Still after all this time, you think I’m mostly serious, but know the offer still stands if you’d like a trial run.” He stepped back when she pushed against him, and he stared at her at eye level. This closeness was too intimate for a man who only really enjoyed intimacy that benefitted him, but her hands were so warm and her eyes even warmer. It was strange how much he wanted and needed this, but his body tensed, as if he was on edge to bolt. He was sure he still look like shit. Half put together in a frenzy rush to leave the penthouse. His darkened eyes glanced downward as he thought about her question. “Would you possibly lay with me?” He smirked at his words. “And I mean with our clothes on.”

Matthew cursed under his breath when he felt those fangs dig a new set of puncture wounds into his neck and his eyes closed in pleasure from the ache that contrasted sharply with what Izak’s hand was doing between his legs. The vampire knew a number of ways to silence him when they were like this and this was clearly one of them.

“Let’s be terrible together…” They were good at that. The fallen deity chuckled softly as his body arched in response to another twist of Izak’s hand. “We shouldn’t leave until at least some part of this pool is broken…”

“Oh. Hi. Sorry, I wasn’t sure how to pronounce your last name and didn’t want to get it wrong.” Chris was still getting used to seeing people who looked young but were actually really old. It was strange knowing Izak was a thousand years old but looked like he was twentysomething. Though with the new blood awareness thing he was able to tell that there was something different about people, but he wasn’t sure if that would extend to figuring out age. 

“I was told I should meet you since you’re the council representative.” It sounded really lame when he said it that way but there wasn’t a better reason. So it looked like he was just stuck with being awkward until he knew enough to have casual conversations with supernatural people. “Um I was turned recently and I’m trying to learn everything I need to, so here I am.”

“You wouldn’t be the first. I have thought about changing it, but I believe my name is the last tangible thing that connects me to my past life. That and maybe a few choice wolf furs that have held exceptionally well.” He shrugged nonchalantly, as if it was a normal thing to say. He had known many vampires to update their identities as it suited them, and Izak was one of the view that had kept his family name. 

At the explanation, Izak hummed noncommittally and strode around his desk to the small hidden warmer behind a bookcase. “That wasn’t necessary. Whoever sent you my way must have used your...inexperience to play a trick.” He knocked back a fake book that substituted a regular handle and the door to his blood reserves popped open. The vampire had an influx of it, from forced extraction from black market dealers, to willing bunnies, to donors to the hospital. He could spare to part with some. “Are you thirsty, newborn? Have you decided on a favorite blood type?”

Levi is a former familiar and former member of Izak’s feeding harem, and through unknown reasons, he was able to break out the glamour spell the vampire elder had put him under. He had planned to expose the way Izak had been treating the members to the council, but after a discussion, the two came to a deal: Izak wouldn’t murder him and instead sire him and Levi’s part of the deal is UTP. He is the third and so far, final vampire Izak has sired, and he has been sticking around the city ever since.

PERSONALITY: Gregarious, Manipulative, others are UTP; however, note that he is extremely calculating and selfish under a guise of being genuine and easy going. Everything he does, he does to benefit himself.
