I think i never posted anything in here... like, really, i don't remember. Since my first account from more than 10 years ago i've just been a reblogger and i'll probably go back to doing that after this post, but today im gonna try cause i need to spit some fandom nonsense out there. Even if all my ideas here are crap i need to follow my infp mentor (Stefan Salvatore) and find Peace
Sooo i used to be a Vampire Diaries fan in my teens (i think? was i 12 maybe?). All the angst, the magic, the characters, the ships, me and my sister loved it all. The thing is i stopped watching it around s5 or s6 bc the storylines where getting tiresome plus cabo tv changed the airing time so it got harder for me to keep up with it. As a result i distanced myself from this story and got kinda bitter with it, like "yeah, its cool, but the writers just wont comit to a coherent decision, its not worth it" which is quite ironic given i was the biggest klaroline shipper at the time BUT ANYWAY
I even looked into who ended up with Elena just to prove my point to my sister that Stelena was endgame and got hammered in the face with a big "No" from the TVD wiki. Did this threw my image of this series even deeper in the mud? Yes, definetly. But i was still curious. Like, how? With everything Damon did? With all the time spent on Stefan? HOW???? So when my twilight-loving mom was searching for a new series to marathon (she does that a lot) i said "hey! Watch vampire diaries! You love ya romance and no matter how bad tvd is, its still way better than twilight~"
And that was how my 2025 The Vampire Diaries Obsession started.
I avoided watching entire episodes with her like the plague, but, what? Damon is making a joke? Damon x Stefan banter?? I gotta see thaat!! Is Klaus here already? Is he? Is he not? Uuuuuuuh Kaaaatheriiine OMG I love Caroliiiiine☆ I reexperienced my Klaroline teens these last few months and it was so corny and fun, i loved it... But then its started bugging me again. The way things get convoluted. I learned about Steroline being canon (another point for my sister who saw it coming from afar) and it seemed just too difficult make happen - and GOD it clearly was for the writers -. It got to a point where i was actually convinced that it could be great, but that the writers chose the worst paths to do it. And thiiings👏 keeept👏 haaaappening👏. My god, this story needs some down time, but they seemed terrified of slowing down as if ppl would fall asleep at anytime. And it didnt solved anything, my mom kept snoozing through episodes anyway.
And then that ending. Jesus Christ. Everybody seemed so tired of it all. Bonnie travelling to Africa, the continent, no specific place in sight. That broke me (in laughs, but still). I also hated that a couldn't believe Stefan's feelings for Caroline, and she seemed to not believe them either. So many time spent on Klaus, then he leaves and still he's a problem. Bonnie and Matt only suffer, the poor things, and idc abt Tyler but why is he so thrown around after the break up with Caroline? Damon is so useless after a while and WHY IS ALARIC HERE AGAIN???? And i know the pregnancy plot was kind of a necessity, but like, everything got so confusing with it. The only good weird choice in this story was Jeremy just disappearing after Elena is gone. Thank god. He's too boring after the Vicky plot is finished in S1. And Elena gone too of course, that was a good one (but then there's the "useless Damon" problem)...
So i.... i kinda got obssessed with trying to make it work in my head, bc i cant handle the mess. I tried to think, i rewatched the first episodes with a friend, i let my hubris (and the butterflies in my stomach) guide me bc i couldnt take that ending for the life of me. And of course i couldnt come up with a good a idea by myself bc i aint a writer, im just a dumbass on the internet coming in too late for the party, but last night something happened. Last night i found out...
That some people ship Klaus and Bonnie? Which is super weird to me. I've never heard of that before. It's so extra, so unnecessary, feels like it comes outta nowhere. And it kinda, like... fixes everything? I mean, intentionality would've fixed it even more, nothing can beat a well thought out storyline - and if we had the Stelena+Bamon+Tyroline+Klaus IS just an evil asshole version of the story, it wouldve been way more coherent and satisfying -, but given what we have in the show... isnt Klaus the crux of the problem? Klaus and Elena.
For Elena i guess we could go with her normal storyline but with just a few tweaks to make the Stefan>Damon transition less messy. Even if her (and the brothers') internal conflict is valid i'd like a decision a bit earlier by the hand of the writers, they kept milking the salvatore love triangle for waaay too long. (And i say that bc we're not gonna kill her, but i'm very curious abt how that happened in the books and what it brought to the story)
But for Klaus... Not sure if its true but ppl say around here that several actors asked to have their character be paired up with Bonnie and one of them was Joseph Morgan apparently? And there was that thing with Klaus surrounding himself with witches that got dropped but was so fiiirreeeeeee????? I didn't remembered thaaaat
Like, sure Klaroline is cute, but the guy is 1000 years old and all Caroline is is blonde! She's a fantastic character, but Klaus shouldnt be able to see through the control-freak high schooler while there is this very powerful witch right there!! The one that makes sense to pay attention to her is Stefan, the guy who is literally her best friend. It makes sense. It makes so much sense that half the people didnt even wanted to happen bc it would destroy their friendship apparently (i mean, it kinda did in the show, but it couldve been awesome, especially if we had the freaking down time).
If Klaus and Bonnie started kinda fighting kinda flirting just after she almost killed him - cus why would it matter to him, really? He wouldn't be traumatized by that - and his romantic redemption started there it would be coherent and we wouldnt loose the originals, which would keep the show alive through them and the plots they bring affecting the rest of the cast (i mean, sems like these where the last characters introduced to be well received. Them and then Kai). Maybe Klaus could try to allure her to his side, convince her with a false peace treaty, try to kidnap her, idk, but give them some time after that and let it flourish, y'kow?
At the same time we could drop the MattxCaroline storyline (sad, i know) and use the developtment we have in there for CarolinexTyler... which wouldnt be exactly the same, but the idea that they are too young, not communicating enough could be used with them, so when they broke up it would feel more natural. I know its not how this specific couple was built to be, but i think it could be done and it would serve the whole story better (in this version).
Anyway, the Steroline friendship would develop around S2 just like in the show and as the salvatore love triangle finishes we can have a decent romance building up without the villain puppy-eyeing her all the time. And then Tyler can meet Olivia, already hinting at a possible problem with witches. She and him could have that developtment he had with Caroline while Steroline is brewing on the other corner.
We can also have the whole Silas thing (dont like the "Stefan is a doppleganger" thing much, but the amnesia gives us some nice space for steroline friendship and maybe steroline romace first steps??? Just some "wait, i like this one more" thoughts he could be quietly having that would be a seed for the future? idk), use the cure plot and maybe merge Bonnie's death and her time with Damon in the prison world? Maybe? Bonnie could die just bc of the sheer amount of magic she had to use, not to save Jeremy. Or maybe she does save him and Elena sends him to find Peace elsewhere like she did before (im sorry, i just love that bit on the tvd wiki so much). I know its not his fault he is boring, but i cant think of anything interesting for him to do... If you went through the trouble of reading all this and knows what to do with him, thank you and please tell me how to handle this boy bc i like how he started in the show but the rest is meh as hell.
Anyway, by the time Bamon disappears Elena, Klaus and Stefan are all hurting and needing to solve this, maybe trying in different ways to cope. Romantic Steroline would probably start around here. One thing good abt this is that Klaus and Elena would have to actuallys sit down and talk and he woulda HAVE to apologize, even if he already showed he has changed (Damon would have to do as well, with Caroline... but earlier). But he is who he is and eventually would try to fix things his way, bringing tones of witches to Mystic Falls to try and bring Bonnie back - i mean, by now he's the only one megolamaniac enough to believe it could be done and connected enough to be able to try -. That seems like a freaking tone setting thing, at least the first "witches arriving' scene would be dope as hell. Now Bonnie comes back, so does Damon, but that becomes a connection with the Gemini Coven wich could be dangerous to everybody, as foreshadowed by TYLER'S GIRLFRIEND of all people.
Yes, we have another cure now. Yes, Damon has to decide if he wants to be human, very similar plot from s6 for him, Kai comes with him and Bonnie from the prison world and we have a showdown that actually kills him and only him to make it so our cast seems to be on the coven's side. Or to make it seem like the coven is on the cast's side, actually.
Oh, you now what they could do? They could get Katherine and give her (kill her?) as a freaking peace offering to Klaus, a show of friendship. How crazy would that be? And since he's actually changing, he wouldn't use her as a sacrifice anymore, but daaaaamn. Horrible ending for her, tragic really. Imagine if she was hiding, making friends with witches to help her kill Klaus so that she would feel safe and the guys betray her? I like that. Its a lot on Klaus' conscience, its interesting. Elena seeing her dead face right there would make me want to apologize a second time if i were him hehe
The final danger is that NOW the Gemini's want Bonnie and maybe Elena as well, even if they try to hide it. I mean both the girls are very useful magical beings. Elena could be turned to human by them + they try to assimilate Bonnie cus she's mad strong and the freaking anchor to the Other Side. How much power can you get from that? Makes sense! So to finish this and save everybody we need to destroy the evil witch coven which would probably lead to Klaus' death. I cant imagine Klonnie NOT being popular in a setting like that.
And look! It feels so organized, so clean~
And i get that Klonnie are separate for some time, but that's just an outline, we could change some of it, not merge Bonnie's death with the prison world plotline, make things stretch a bit more with smaller arcs and some freaking down time. I liked that time they made a deal to give the town to the heretics, i just hated the heretics cus they sucked ass... maybe we could use that first part at some point? Actually it doesnt seem plausible with the Originals there, nevermind
Well, by the end we have Mystic Falls probably made a magic free zone forever so all of the main characters have to leave that place (just cus why not? it gives off a vibe of ~ conclusion ~), Delena becoming humans and growing old together - bc he needs to grow and becoming human is the equivalent for him of not partying anymore -, Steroline just being cute and walking into the sunset forever - while dealing with grief and addiction - and Bonnie losing Klaus... and maybe her powers in an awesome showdown... which kinda sucks for her again... unless she get's a spin off series where she goes to New Orleans to see the place he loved and get her powers back. Imagine. The sheer glory of 2018's tv. Bonnie spin off about witches, wherewolves and vampires fighting.
I guess what i mean with all these ramblings is that racism robbed us of greatness
