Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
Orden: Orthroptera Familia: Romaleidae Género: Chromacris Especie: Chromacris colorata
I really felt bad for giving it to my Brachypelma, it had some vibrant yellow and blue colors, but food is food and it had u.u
If you want to identify crickets, grasshoppers and other simar arthropoda I suggest you to buy “Grasshoppers, locusts, crickets & katydids of Mexico” from the World Biodiversity Association, it is a very useful photographic guide if you live in North America or its surroundings.
Order: Orthroptera Family: Romaleidae Genus: Chromacris Specie:Chromacris colorata
Pros of doing science
advancing human knowledge
getting to do cutting edge research
people think you’re smart
doing cool shit
Cons of doing science
grad school
the job market
people assume you’re a competent human being
get judged when you leave grad school to pursue super villainy
Pink for boys and blue for girls right? No? What are societal gender roles anyway and are they good or bad to keep in our everyday lives?
Let’s put this debate to rest.
Remember guys, science doesn´t say anything about gender because it is unscientific and irrelevant since gender and “gender identities” are roles constructed by actions, the only thing science can have a word in is in real observable physical empirical evidence such as biological sexes which, [spoiler alert for some of you] there are only two; to what extent they are related to the beheavior and the role inside a comunity, population or habitat varies from species to species and is a completely separated topic that should be aproached differently given to the recent “gender revolution” and “gender boom”
My tarantula pet, I still don't know if it is a Brachypelma vagans or an albiceps though... it may even be from another species!
So cuuuuuuuuuuuuute
Que lindaaaaaaaaaaaa
Blue, green, black, white and a little reddish orange, just couldn't keep it to myself, would this have something to dp with the noctilucent cloud phenomena?
I went out to run the other day and found these fluffy little friendsn turns out they are some Mexican gray squirrels and the denomination "aureogaster" means gray in latin. Reino:Animalia Filo:Chordata Clase:Mammalia Orden:Rodentia Familia:Sciuridae Subfamilia:Sciurinae Género:Sciurus Subgénero:Sciurus Especie:S. aureogaster
Turnable, twistable robots
Forget steel and aluminum. The robots of tomorrow may be able to squish, stretch and squeeze.
Novel robotic devices, part of the emerging field of soft robotics, offer many advances over conventional robots. Soft robots can more easily maneuver in tough spaces. They can better interact with humans, making them excellent assistants for elderly people. And one day they may lead to high-tech artificial muscles: a life-changing innovation for millions of disabled people around the globe.

Shown above are a trio of microscale rockets, each about 10 microns in length. These tiny rockets are roughly cylindrical in shape, with a narrower diameter at the front than the back. Like their space-faring brethren, these microrockets are chemically propelled. They draw in fuel from their surroundings, which reacts with the catalysts coating the interior of the microrocket to produce gases. Those gases bubble out the back end of the microrocket, creating thrust capable of propelling the rockets more than 1000 body lengths/second. Researchers have already demonstrated that these tiny rockets can haul cargo along with them. Scientists hope one day to use these self-propelled microrockets to help deliver drugs or isolate cancer cells. (Image credit: J. Li et al., source)
Now THIS is some nice micro-rocket science

Mimosa pudica is an herb of the pea family and is known for its compound leaves that fold inward and droop when touched or shaken. This defense mechanism protects the leaf from harm and allows for reopening a few minutes later.
