Unforgettable - Nat King Cole
“This is Grade A 100% pure Colombian cocaine, ladies and gentlemen… Disco shit… Pure as the driven snow.”- Blow (2001)
As Marlon once so beautifully fucking said to me, life is a birdsong.Â
“No he didn’t say anything to me, I just find it all hilarious. I’m more than happy to be the middleman. As long as it doesn’t involve me breaking up a fight among you two.”
“You’re still here…” Joseph countered.
“Quick question. Are you two ever going to patch things up. It breaks my heart to see you too not talk.” Sean snickered at that, but quickly recovered. “Well…when you’re not speaking to him through me or Bobby..or everyone else…”
“Is it a problem I don’t speak to him directly. Did he say that?” Fighting the urge to roll his eyes. He muttered the words, fuckin baby, under his breath.
“You can’t be surprised that everyone wants to check up on you. It’ll only get worse Jo-I say just give in.”
“Uhh, probably nothing, he’s got that new place in Greenwich, so I’ll check it out and I’ll fill him in on what’s going to happen.”
“Greenwich?, who’s paying for---nevermind I don’t care. And Reese, too.”
“Works for me. –I gotta leave, Jackson wants to meet up for some odd reason - you don’t need me to stick around do you?”
“Contrary to what most of you may think, I can manage being alone in my own house. I live for it actually. What does Jackson want?”
“Just so you know, if the rest don’t go down as easily, like Logan Miller. I can’t speak on what I’ll do.”
“Duly noted, we know Logan will be one of the tougher ones. Break him if necessary, but don’t put him in the ground just yet.”
Johnny Depp made his first appearance on Australian television on June 25, 1988, when he acted as a judge on the Red Faces segment on “Hey, Hey It’s Saturday” [x]
“You’re right..” Sean backed off. It would take Joseph to help him understand why they traveled down this dangerous path. “Dave has gotten away with a lot. The Casinos, the money we helped them move. It’s great disrespect.”
“So you’ll make it happen, do whatever needs to be done and it’ll be quick. Just the most prominent of the family will be taken out and we’ll deal with the rest.”
“I agree. But–it’s an entire family, decapitating them will just put a bigger target on your back, they might even come after, try to come after Jennifer again.”
“I wonder did Dave think about that when he outsmarted us the first time?”
“Dave has no respect for the rules in place, he brought the children into this, specifically mine, when it was always understood they were to be left untouched. I gotta play by the rules when he gets to break them at his leisure, come on Sean. You know better.”
“So we don’t talk about it? Does Christian even have a problem with it? –I know we’ve always toyed with the idea of knocking off a family, I pictured we’d aim for the weakest first?”
“The Gambino’s are nothing more than a glorified gang. What’s strong about them, is their worth, which we’ll absorb into our family and put our men in place to take over. That is the only thing they have over us. They’re not that strong.”
“Not yet, but with how everything is playing out I have to ask is everything alright up there?” Catching on to what Joseph was speaking of, Sean sighed because while that was part of the problem it wasn’t the only one that needed to be addressed. “Jack and Jennifer are fine, they’re learning, still. –” It would be wrong to expect of them when they had very much sheltered lives. “It’s about the Dave and his family? You plan to knock off an entire family?”
Joseph nodded a few times. Shifting his position at the table he flipped through the Chronicle a page or two. “I figured that move was obvious, I didn’t think I needed to say it?”
Johnny Depp interview in 2000Â [x]
Widening her eyes in disbelief, Jennifer was so close to throwing a huge fit at her father when she realised that he was teasing her. In a rather cruel way, wasn’t it that so? Rolling her eyes, she smiled. “Why not? He can keep an eye on you. Make sure that you don’t bring back a twenty-something blonde bimbo of a stepmother to me,” which her father wouldn’t do, obviously, but she had to make a point. At the same time, sending Reese to Las Vegas with her father would be worse for him than sending him to Vatican because even there he could survive the rigorous rules. “You’re not going to Vegas, Dad. No, you can’t.” Of course he could, but why would he want to go there? Was he taking over Michael’s role? “Unless,” she smirked victoriously, “you invite Mom to join you.” – Probably everyone in this room knew that the Genovese family didn’t respond well to not getting what they wanted. However, add to that being the youngest in the family and being that one person who was always getting what she wanted… and things could get a bit out of control. “Ugh, I’ll kill him. Who the hell does he think he is? He can take his petty let’s-not-kill-an-ant politics to the UN and Dalai Lama - Dad, if Penelope isn’t dead by now, I’m done with all of you.”
There was no point in holding that laughter of his in because his daughter was just worried about the wrong thing here. At least that’s the conclusion he came to.  “You are worried about me bringing home some child?” Because that is what she described to him. Joseph was in no way interested in dealing with a person half his age, half the brain. That age gap was not appealing to him. Plus the idea of marrying again turned his stomach. “Not my style. I can assure you.” With the idea of inviting Juliana to join him, he cut his eyes at Jennifer. “Hmm honey, I’m afraid you lost me with that?” She wasn’t making any sense to him. “She can stay wherever she is.” Now, it was his turn to smile, although it was far from authentic. “These are things you should be saying to him instead of me, come.” He stopped dancing, being subtle to keep the attention off of them. They were just one pair amongst many on the open floor but they were Genovese which was enough reason for those to stare. Joseph staying true to his words would lead her whether she wanted the reunion or not was something that was needed at the moment. This family could not continue on separated as they were. Being scattered for this long, they were weak, slightly but they were. Attending this ball, surrounded by enemies -- they needed to be stronger or they would give everyone the opportunity to take them out. “Couldn’t say it in so many words while out there. Penelope is not a problem, I figure now police have discovered they have a body, have identified it.” He came to a short stop. “I found out a moment ago and have since moved on to something else, like fixing my family.”
