Villar Perosa: Juventus vs. Juventus B
Tomorrow (14/08/18) is the annual traditional friendly match between Juventus and Juventus B. This tradition started in 1955 in the town of Villar Perosa, where one of the estates of the Agnelli family (Juve owners) is located.
Before the match, the first team pays a visit to Villa Agnelli, where the president gives a motivational speech to open the new season.
The players walk around the pitch to greet the fans and parade the trophies they won the previous season.
The match is played on a small pitch. And they do things like interview players on the sidelines throughout the match.
The match is always cut off short (usually 30-45 mins), because all the fans start to invade the pitch. The players start to take off their shorts, shirts, undershirts, socks, shin pads, shoes and shoe soles and everything they can and hand them out to the fans.
It’s a fun day for the players to bond with their extended family, the fans, and to celebrate Juventus. It’s a great tradition that Juve keeps. As Buffon said, “In modern football, it’s important to keep certain traditions alive. It’s a romantic side that survives, and we can’t let go of it.”
So, don’t miss it! The event will be broadcasted, and you can also watch it online on Juventus TV.
