No, you don't understand...I shouldn't have, I really honestly shouldn't have. I don't want to- I just don't want to be...like a certain person. Okay, if you're sure...then okay. It's okay, I forgive you. Only if you forgive me. We're both okay, and that's all that matters.

Jack and Gabe / Horror Week

Gabe’s sleeves were rolled up to just under his elbows as he stared Jackson in the eyes. He twirled his wand between his fingers like a baton. 

"Oh Jackson. You’ve kept me waiting." He said, a smirk crossing his face. "Strange, how easy it is for such an… oaf to hide."  He walked closer to him, Jack’s height was quite intimidating the closer he got, but there was some sort of fire inside of him that wasn’t going to go away. 

"So here’s the dealio. One of us has gotta die. And I’ve got a mom back home who I’ve got to protect. I think the pretty clear answer here is you gotta go. Sorry mate. I don’t make the rules." He said as he lifted his wand and pointed it at him. He muttered a word he hadn’t thought would ever pass his lips. "Crucio."

Jack's eyes switched from the wand twirling in Gabriel's hands back to Gabriel continuously. He didn't know what to be more afraid of.

"Why were you..." Jack had to take a moment to compose himself. "Why were you looking for me in the first place?" He was pretty sure he knew the answer to that, but he had to ask anyway. Jack could hear his heart thumping wildly in his ears as Gabriel got closer and closer. He almost wanted to run, but his legs weren't responding. He was too scared.

"I have a mom who I have to protect, too....I can't...you can't...Don't do this to me." In Jack's ears he sounded so little. So weak. He sounded like he was younger again, when his father was around. He hated that version of himself. Jack watched as Gabriel lifted his wand and pointed it directly at him. He was just beginning to wonder what was going to happen to him when a burning fire ran through. It was unexpected and overwhelming, making Jack fall to the ground. He didn't scream, at least not yet, but did hiss and groan out in pain. He refused to give the boy above him the satisfaction.

Jack and Gabe / Horror Week

Gabe wasn’t sure what was going on. Hogwarts was dark, and normally he’d probably be scared and try to laugh it off, just because that was how Gabe worked, but instead he was furious. Angry inside all the time, he kept kicking his wall for no reason. One face kept flashing across his mind, and he needed to find him. 

Jackson Boisselier. 

Wherever he was, Gabe needed to find him, and Gabe neededto kill him, or else he wouldn’t stop feeling angry. So off he went in search for the guy, whom he knew nothing about other than that he was tall. 

Good. He’d be easier to find.

Jack paused his steps as he listened. He thought he had heard footsteps following him. But then again, he had also thought he heard whispering...and eerie laughing...and loud, taunting voices. He thought he heard everything and felt everything. He was constantly on edge, and always staying alert. Once he convinced himself no one was following him, he began walking again. Even though he was wary everyone, he felt especially wary around one person in particular. He didn't even know who it was, but Jack just felt petrified being near him.

Jack continued to walk through the empty corridors, his hands in his pockets, and his head bowed. He stopped when he heard footsteps in front of him. He looked up and the petrified feeling filled him again. Standing at the end of the corridor was the one person who made him want to run forever. He barely knew him. But he had heard his name was Gabriel or something like that. Jack didn't care, he just wanted to be as far as possible. He didn't dare say anything as he stood petrified in his spot. He was waiting. Waiting for Gabriel to make the first move.

I should...but I don't understand why people find it so funny when my stuff is stolen. I also wonder where all my stuff goes.

[gives her a small smile] Thank you. For helping me. I know you have better things to do...but thank you. [thinks for a moment] The last few times I lost....got something stolen...they put it in places I frequent often. So maybe we can check in those places?

A grin spread across her face at the confirmation- they were going in and it was going to be… “Amazing! Awesome!” A few more excited little squeals existed her lips as she twirled around, pulling him to the entrance. “The jitterbug! And other older things! They swing dance here too, but that’s kinda hard.” 

She had a feeling he wasn’t all into it but she pushed such thoughts aside for a moment to study him. Jack was certainly tall so there would be no issues with height (as her past two dance partners had been shorter than her) but would his height be a dancing issue? She didn’t want to make him feel too uncomfortable, as the point of this was fun. “You know,” As they went deeper into the entrance hall, the sounds of saxophones among other instruments met her ears, “We can just watch and drink pop or something! If you don’t wanna dance way too much. They have malt shakes, too.”

But his words confirmed the dancing and Avery’s heart leaped. “You’re such a sweetheart, you know that? C’mon,” She shook her coat off and took his hand. “Let’s dance… Or stare- wow." The dancers ranging from all sorts of ages were pretty great- give or take the five pairs who were clearly having fun just learning- and it almost stopped her in her tracks.

He smiled as she squealed and jumped around. She pulled him towards the entrance, and he let her, with a laugh. He's never seen someone so excited Well, at least not around him. People usually were kind to him out of pity, or they showed reluctance at being around him. So, Avery's excitement shocked him a little. He hoped he wasn't letting it show. "Let's try to stick to easy things. I'm not sure if I can handle anything hard."

The sound of music hit Jack's ears and his nerves calmed down a bit. This was supposed to be fun. He was supposed to be having fun. And he wouldn't be able to do that if he was too busy worried about making a fool of himself in front of Avery. He needed to calm down and just enjoy it. So what if he fell flat on his face? So what if he accidentally stepped on Avery's feet. So what- actually, it was better if he didn't try to pep talk himself. He was making himself nervous again. He shrugged his shoulders at her. "Who knows. We'll..uh, see where the night takes us."

Jack looked down, with a small smile. He didn't receive compliments too much, but every time he did, it made him feel good. "That's...something I don't hear a lot. But thank you." He took a moment to take off his own jacket, after he saw her take her own off. He vaguely wondered if he should've been a 'gentleman' and helped her, but she was already taking his hand and leading him somewhere else. "We should...we should dance first. Because if we don't do it now I might chicken out." He said, with a nervous smile.

"I think I forgot to mention it earlier." Avery smiled, hoping this wasn’t going to ruin the night. She kept looking up, batting her eyelashes at him. Gosh, he really was tall, wasn’t he? Midas was tall and her own brothr was tall, but Jack. She laughed internally at the thought; usually, she regarded herself as a tall girl, but compared to him she was nothing less than a midget. 

She wrapped her hands around Jack’s arms a little tighter and pulled him closer to the poster, right by the entrance. “I don’t think it really matters if you can or can’t. They show you the steps and the whole point is to have fun, really! And.. Most of them will be older,” Avery nodded to the old couples filing in, “So I don’t think we have anything to worry about. Last time I showed up here they thought it was cute a teenager was taking interest in old dancing styles.”

With an uncomfortable tug at the end of her skirt, she let out a little sigh. “If you don’t want to, though, we could always go eat more pastries!”

She pulled him over to the poster, and he stared at the entrance. She said it was fun, and that they would teach you how to dance, but he couldn't fight the nerves. His height made him completely unable to do something agile like dancing. He just looked very awkward, and he didn't want to risk giving Avery a reason to make fun of him.

"You seem really excited to do it, so why not?" He smiled. Would he regret this later? Maybe. But he didn't care. Avery was willingly going out and about with him, so he might as while make the best of it. "What kind of....dancing styles are there?" He asked curiously. He didn't dance very much, so he didn't know which ones he should stay far away from.

Jack shook his head, making his long hair move with the movements of his head. "No. Really, we should do this. I'm just being silly. As tempting as the pastries sound, you really want to dance.....so we'll dance." He gave her a bright smile, hoping to convince her he was truly okay with this.
