i started sketching/brainstorming a redesign for lyric on impulse and Things Got Intense
so like first things first, sonic boom. there are a lot of things to say about sonic boom so im just gonna say like. lyric. lyric seems like a great character in concept, or maybe i just like snakes too much, but so much about him falls flat - his backstory, his explanations, his robot suit's overall design. so i was like. hell. maybe i can fix that.
that was like 10 hours ago I Am Burning
part of what i wanted to fix was the design for the robot suit, and with it the reasoning that he has it. like. okay he needs it for life support, essentially. why.
sketched a few ideas, cobbled some things together, and wound up with something like the final design. decided to try and piece together a reason behind it being needed and came up with carbon monoxide poisoning.
carbon monoxide can fuck up a lot of things, for lyric maybe it fucked up neurological processing in a way that made it hard for him to move around without the assistance of tech, it can also cause psychotic symptoms and as a person with psychosis of course im eager to have a character to project onto, and it would make sense for his suit to have a ton of ventilation and air purification sorts of things, as he'd likely be paranoid about tainted air after what happened. it can also cause mood-related neuro issues, like irritability, which seems pretty plausible for lyric
he's also colorblind, he has tritanopia to be specific. the colors of the picture above are (possibly, i did as best as i could but im not 100% sure) what he sees himself as.
holy hell that was long, idk i probably put way too much thought into this but it was pretty fun to think about.
