I wasn’t mad at the joining scene?? I’m not entirely finished with the book but I got to that scene and it was fine to me idk. I’ve read way worse sexual scenes with like four guys and one girl in realistic books. I get that some people might see it as ruining poppycas but I personally never got that vibe. If it had been done another way it would’ve reminded me of like damon and elena whenever stefan goes with klaus, but I didn’t get that vibe?? Idk I just kind of got that they care about each other very deeply especially with the notam, and they’re sexually attracted to one another and it’s not like they had sex without Cas nor when he would be uncomfortable with it? It’s always interested Cas, and he’s known how much it interests Poppy and he fed into it? He jerked her off to Kieran getting a bj…The joining has been mentioned for so long it had to be in the books, and for Cas to live with Poppy forever. I don’t personally think a relationship is weaker if they explore something sexually they’re both interested in and comfortable with. I actually liked the angst between poppy and cas not being together for a while, it’s kind of what I wanted more from Aelin and Rowan in the last throne of glass book. Also, I read somewhere that this book made it feel like Poppy was the main character and Cas and Kieran were side characters, but she is? I mean she’s transitioning from a mortal to a primal it’s a long journey and a lot of explanation which is what half of the book was trying to do I feel like. Cas to me is still very much an important character, maybe Kieran to me kind of became less so but that could just be because his relationship with Poppy was changing and adapting to the primal notam, and the loss of someone they both cared about very deeply. idk though tbh I skim maybe too much so maybe I missed some things that others caught on to.

idk I didn’t love the book just because it was so heavily into explanation, and poppy actually felt less like a character—a person I mean. I just wanted more interactions that weren’t based in sex or info dumping.

btw this is just me stating how I viewed the book, everyone’s opinions are valid. I see where people are coming from, I just personally didn’t interpret it that way, nor did I get so angry after reading it. I think the only book I’ve ever gotten annoyed with was the last book of the shatter me series but I have a long rant about that already.
