In the above link, you will see dozens of comments left by women, and comments with neutral, valid criticism. These comments were all deleted by Sony within an hour. They are purposefully manipulating the comment section to include only the worst ones, or what they planted there with obvious bot accounts. Still donât believe me?

In the above link, there are multiple videos of people discussing the deleted comments, including a woman. You will also find links directly to the information regarding the reboot that was part of the massive leak that Sony failed to properly manage. This includes an email from a Sony executive directly stating that if Bill Murray didnât âparticipateâ, they would pursue âaggressive litigationâ. You could also Google âSony wants to sue Bill Murray over Ghostbustersâ and get numerous articles about it. Also within that link, youâll see that no one involved with the original films wanted the reboot, including Harold Ramis. Itâs more than telling that the reboot was greenlit barely a blink after his death was reported.
There are many black women that are upset with the filmâs use of the negative âsassy black womanâ stereotype. The other women include: The self-deprecating âfat girlâ, the âweirdâ girl, and the âtomboyâ. All of the white protagonists are stereotypes that were complained about in âTropes vs Womenâ. Are these stereotypes now suddenly acceptable just because you think âsexismâ is involved? Aside from all of this, the CGI is unforgivably bad for a modern film, especially when the original looks better by comparison, despite being over 30 years older. The âhumorâ is incredibly stale, and relies heavily on its stereotypes. The original script, whcih you can also find linked to in the second link I provided for you, is so terrible, it reads like bad fanfiction.
I am a woman. Unlike you, I grew up with the original films. I grew up with the cartoon spin-off (which, by the way, ran for seven seasons, and was one of the most successful animated series of all time). âGhostbustersâ had more of an impact than you realize on pop culture, because YOU WERE NOT THERE. People donât just love the idea of âbustinâ ghostsâ: We love the CHARACTERS (including Janine, who not only had many episodes of the cartoon devoted to her, but also had her own action figures, and canonically became an official Ghostbuster). People attempted once before to reboot âGhostbustersâ with the animated series, âExtreme Ghostbustersâ. The series did poorly, in spite of having a cast that was diverse in both race, AND gender.
People like you come along, knowing LITERALLY FUCKING NOTHING about the franchise, and try to tell the people that do what theyâre ALLOWED to accept of something they cherish, and that you hadnât even seen anything of until now. You telling us what âGhostbustersâ should be is like a three-year-old boy trying to tell you what menstrual cramps are like. You arenât in the position to know what is wrong, and why people (including women) are upset.
I donât expect you to read all of this, let alone anything in the links Iâve provided. Iâve grown used to people calling themselves âfeministsâ ignoring actual facts in favor of their own victimization complex. At least it serves to remind me as to why I dropped the label like a hot potato. You do not want equality. You want mandatory leniency for women, whichâironicallyâoperates on the same obsolete, sexist notion that weâre not good enough to have our achievments stand on their own. If you had any faith in women whatsoever, youâd allow us to be judged equally to men without making excuses for when we legitimately fail.Â
