Andrew Minyard has a beautiful brain and is quite the comedian, as we can all read in the books ('is your learning curve a horizontal line?'). So I introduce to you the headcanon that during movie nights Andrew will whisper all kinds of commentary in Neil's ear, and Neil regularly dissolves in giggles or straight up laughter and everybody is so confused because the scene wasn't even that funny? Is Neil hearing voices? Stoic Andrew Minyard cannot possibly be that funny right? Neil just waves them off and tries to hold his laughter in. Andrew, btw, is very smug about the fact he can make Neil laugh like that.

I can't believe my music inspired this. Moreso that it speaks so true to the themes that sparked my initial ideas for creating the song. The lull of water, the depth and endlessness of echoes lost in a cave.

When I received this I felt really seen. Like my song had spoken to those who have listened in the exact language that I hoped it would.

no cause andrew was so afraid he made neil up and once he would be off his meds he would just vanish into thin air

like can we talk about the way he told him "maybe I'll come back and you won't be here anymore" before they took him to easthaven?? that was so fucking heartbreaking

and then he comes back and neil is still here and he says "you were supposed to be a side effect to the drugs" and calls him a pipe dream??? insanity

i can't stop thinking about how none of the aftg plot would have happened if andrew wasn't there to slam neil with a raquet.

neil would've ran away, dropping the "neil josten" persona, he would've never been recruited to the foxes and probably would've died alone somewhere else (like he told kevin he would).

without neil, there'd be no truce with ichirou, and kevin would've never had the courage to confront riko alone, so he would've remained as one of riko's pets, maybe forever.

jean would have killed himself sooner rather than later (in every universe he dies).

and andrew would have never broken the deal with his brother without neil's constant interference, so even if he wanted to reconcile their relationship, aaron would have resented him and never spoken to him again (most likely).

neil was the cathalyst of so many major events, and all thanks to a "rabid little goalkeeper" who was on his meds and thought it was amusing to hit the fuck out of a random, unassuming kid with a raquet in a random high school in arizona because he was bored.
