Mira's brother (glancing at Zoerumi): So you basically married a buff woman with an orange cat brain and mommy issues (worse than ours) and the literal Sun... who also has mommy issues...
Mira: Did you expect anything different?
Mira's brother: Not really-
(Honestly I think he's a little not exactly that quick in the uptake on how any of this works)
Mira's brother: (sitting in the back of the church in a suit, he picked a spot as away as possible)
(music starts although the pulpit is empty)
*Zoey walks down in her suit, arm and arm with her dad, take their places one side of the aisle*
Mira's brother: (looking a bit anxious then feels his breath catch)
*Mira walks down the aisle in a beautiful modernized hanbok tied with a bright red sash, Bobby is walking her down tears in his eyes. When they reach the end of the aisle he kisses her cheek and then moves to take his place at the pulpit*
Mira's brother: (feels a mix of pride in his sister and shame that he never tried to reach out)
*Rumi walks down in a beautiful modern wedding dress with sheer sleeves that show off her patterns being walked down by Celine in a suit who's barely holding it together more than Bobby was.*
Mira's brother: (stares as a pair of three year olds, one in a suit one in a dress throw flowers clumsyly down the aisle, his eyes widen as he notices their sharp eyes) Does she have kids?
*a four year old in a suit comes down next holding the ring*
Mira's brother: *Sees the small boy's jawline* Three kids?
After the ceremony transitions into the reception, he dips outside.
Mira's brother: (pulls out his pack of treasurer London executive black cigarettes and places it in his mouth before lighting it and taking a long drag)
Pawpa: (lighting up some 30 dollar cigar) Helluva wedding! (laughs and pulls out another cigar) put that thing away! Have some little special to celebrate!
MB: Thank you but no. Besides I don't really think I have any right to celebrate this.
Pawpa: Ya hear to celebrate the wedding ain't ya?
MB: I am. I thought she'd want someone here to support her. (sighs) it seems she has more than enough support. Although it seems apropos that by the time I finally actually try to support her, she doesn't need me anymore. (takes another drag)
Pawpa: I don't know about all that now, she invited you. That's not nothing.
MB: She did. She sent it to my office, without a return address. I can't tell if she actually wanted me here or just wanted to piss me off. I honestly can't tell with her.
Pawpa: Well ya know ya could just ask her.
MB: And let her know I'm here?!
Pawpa: Well why else would you come all the way from Korea to attend a weddin?
MB: I (pauses) I don't know. She's my little sister. I've been a terrible brother and I have no right to even ask for her time. She has her own family now. She's happier than I think I've ever seen. At this point I don't know if I even have a right to intrude on this. She deserves to be happy and all I'd do is remind her of bad memories.
Pawpa: I don't know what all happened but as long as I've known her, Mira's never been one to fake anything. If she didn't want you here, she wouldn't have bothered sendin ya an invite in the first place.
MB: But why? She has everything she could want?
Pawpa: Cher, just cause she's got family doesn't mean there isn't space for more people to love. Just cause ya burn a bridge doesn't mean you don't remember the path and it don't mean it can't be rebuilt either. Ya say she's got all she could want but I don't know bout that. Because there's one thing she doesn't have.
Pawpa: Her big brother. Maybe part of her still has a little bit of hope that she can have him in her life again.
MB: I-I (choking up) I've done nothing for her. I berated her for her behavior! I told her she should just do what she was told! I thought she was insane for leaving how she did. After that, after years of silence. Why would she even want to see me again?
Pawpa: I don't know, but this might be your last chance to find out. (pats his shoulder) don't go wasting it. (tucks the cigar into his breast pocket) Lâche pas la patate. (walks away)
MB: (has no idea what that phrase means or what language it is) thanks?
(Lâche pas la patate - literally translated it means don't drop the potato, figuratively it means don't give up)
