So he didn’t mind? Yukina felt lucky in that regard but of course, she believed it was easier to understand Hiei more than before. With a quick turn on her heels, the young woman began to walk. “Thank you, I appreciate it. All I need is help in picking a few things, like, berries. I plan on using them later on tonight and you are free to have some if you wish.”

As a snack or part of dinner, she would use them for herself and Genkai to eat; either that or she would actually go to a convenience store but maybe sticking within the forest was a better choice for both of them.  “I know it’s a really simple and tedious task, but I thought it would be quicker with another person with me.” Or maybe she was stalling for time; now that she understood everything she missed long ago, Yukina wanted to spend time with him with her new-found knowledge—-she simply wanted to spend time with her brother. No way could she speak that out loud.

As much as he’d rather be doing more important, masculine things, spending time with Yukina was above all, the most important. He would sacrifice his day to pick berries with his sibling, and oddly enough, enjoy it.

With a simple nod, Hiei followed closely behind the teal-haired girl who glided with a calming cheerfulness, opposite of his shy, defensive stance. Though, being with Yukina was much more relaxing than he had anticipated, yet he found himself guarded--physically and emotionally. 

Trying not to be too transparent with his uneasiness, Hiei remained silent for most of their journey to the field where Yukina chose to pick the berries. It smelled of a sweet, floral aroma with hints of fruit lingering in the air. The scent alone was calming enough, but to see his sister’s face light up at the sight of the colorful scene before them calmed him even more. What a wonderful sight to behold.

“What will you use these for?” he finally spoke as he picked the bluish-grey berry off it’s vine, “Is it a pressing matter?”
