“ I don’t suppose you were looking to buy one of these fine masks?~ ”
Mian Ju, currently a human named Juu, stood with masks hanging off her suit. And now look at this! Someone of interest, someone who looked...So curious, and she could feel herself being drawn in to at least have a conversation! And she craved that face. Picking up one of her masks--it resembled a komainu from Wano.
“ You seem like someone who would crave the sense of lions~ With pride as bright as gold! A grand strength beyond comprehension...and at a cheap price, too~ ”
Tomorrow.
Drake found the wide smile just a touch unnerving–just a touch and perhaps that was because of her age–and yet, he pushed off of the wall he had been leaning on and walked towards the young woman without an ounce of fear. Since there was a consider distance between them, it would only be considered rude to carry a conversation, and so, Drake closed that distance to a fair degree in a couple strides. Only when the ginger was much nearer did he decide to speak.
“You stand out,” Drake replied bluntly as his gray gaze swept over her features as though to commit them to memory, “no more than that, and yes, that’s right. I’m aware of the delivery for tomorrow, but no, there’s no change in the schedule. It’s still correct. I suppose it’s not odd of you to arrive early–easier to make it on time that way.”
As far as he had heard, the individual in question that usually made deliveries was a lionfish fishman and yet the one before him now seemed to be some sort of mink … with some human attributes perhaps? Now Drake couldn’t say that he had ever heard of Minks and Humans procreating or Minks and other races procreating, but to each their own–that wasn’t his business. What was his business was the fact that this young lady was different from the norm and honestly, Drake couldn’t help but what why that was. Sending a young, defenseless teen–with a cool demeanor at that–sounded like risky business no matter how professional she was.
He was coming closer? Mian Ju’s smile briefly widened further before calming down to a more...composed smile, one that was easier to be around, even. If he hadn’t of moved, she surely would have came closer to him. That was less fun, however, she liked when people came to her. It felt like she was more important than maybe she actually was.
“ Minks stand out everywhere~ With everyone except Fishman. ”
She giggled out her reply before setting a hand below her cheek, tapping a finger as she looked up and down the Tobi Roppo--Worst Generation, how exciting!! Looking even for flaws, for strengths, anything she could take advantage of in a situation where things go dire. Not that she wanted them to. Her transactions with the Beast Pirates were far too beneficial to throw away just to...get a face fo...a very powerful person. A dinosaur, it was close to a dragon! So tempting, far too tempting.
“ Mhm~ I don’t like getting to deliveries late, we have a tight schedule here and you know, this is a yonko crew, and yonko business is never to be taken tooo lightly!! After all, you never know what could happen. ”
She shook her head, even with the darker subject matter that she implied, she never seemed to stop smiling. It was exciting, frankly! Seeing yonko commanders in person...Seeing YONKOS in person!~ It made her full of energy, of adrenaline! Even if she preferred to keep her interactions with two of the three commanders less than common. They were smarter than the average person, she didn’t want to risk anything. The Beasts knew the contract they signed when they agreed to work with the mask business...But Mian Ju also knew that she could never trust a pirate to actually follow something like that to a T...There was risk to working with anyone in this day and age.
“ buuuut I don’t worry too much about that~ I’m careful enough and follow the rules. ”
Most of the time.

Mian Ju has never successfully taken the face of a logia user. Nor has she tried. Eventually she hopes to at least find one that she can just take, but given her choices...All of them are rather out of reach.
What Kind of Stupid Are You?
Smart until infected with stupid
You think you're safe don't you? You are probably the responsible one in the group, perhaps even the mom friend. You are relatively smart but all it takes is one little thing to suck all your braincells out. It could be hanging around your fellow stupid friends, it could be being left alone, it could be having a bit too much fun. The stupid lives inside you and it just takes the right environment for it to show.

Give this a lil like if you’d like to plot some a demon verse thread. I’ll hop into your dms.
hi i love clione and mian ju
Whenever someone works with the business, they are required to sign a contract that says that if there is any harm brought to the deliverer, there will be no future work done between the business and that client.
idiot
“You’re the stupid one!” he exclaimed first out of instinct, before processing what she’d actually said.
Sure, yonko territory was dangerous, but it wasn’t like the two of them were anyone important. Big Mom wouldn’t give two shits about a pair of nobodies going around the place, even if she did find out about them.
If Clione took off his uniform with his crew’s jolly roger, no one would look twice at him. And Mian Ju was just a trenchcoat alley vendor for her handmade masks, why would Big Mom even care about her?
“We won’t get into trouble, it’d just be a shopping trip. We’re not gonna storm up Whole Cake Island, so calm down.” Clione sighed. “Besides, I heard they sell, like, the best cheese in the entire New World, you know…” he added, seemingly absent-minded.
The bait was set, all that was left was to see if Mian Ju fell for it.
“ Oh yeah sure, I’m the idiot for not wanting to go into a dangerous territory that could end in imprisonment or DEATH! ”
Mian Ju wasn’t looking the calmest, actually she looked rather stressed at the idea that she would be going anywhere close to Totto Land. Why the hell would she go somewhere like that?! She wasn’t a nobody, unlike Clione, which was just a simple cook. If someone there caught on to who she was...Or worse got interested in what she was! What if she was forced to live there...She’d heard insane things about the intel network too...She did not want to get caught up into that. What if they knew about this identity?? That it worked in the business?? She couldn’t risk that! She wouldn’t-
The mink paused suddenly at the mention of cheese...No way, they wouldn’t have the best cheese...No, they were all about candy...Well she guessed there was a cheese island, she’d seen maps...B-but she wouldn’t want to go there! She didn’t want to risk it! There was a reason she kept her business away from Totto Land, she didn’t accept jobs from them...
“ Cheese isn’t going to convince me, Clione.... ”
Clione squinted, crossing her arms. She knew what he was doing...She pursed her lips, tight and grumbly.
“ But you wouldn’t even be able to get there...It’s too far and you don’t have a ship, I doubt your captain would want you to go in your sub... ”
Was she giving an excuse to further her reasoning not to go?? Absolutely, the temptation of the best cheese was strong....
Mian Ju’s favourite food is cheesecake. Really, if you give her any type of cheese food or straight up just some cheese, that’s a great way to gain at least some trust.
Revolutionary?
Dragon sighed, taking in the appearance of the kid. She didn’t look to be in need of money, at least in terms of clothing but… her face seemed… weird, for a lack of a better word. It might be a hint towards some sort of power, or it might be a scar left after an unsavory encounter with a devil fruit user or a particularly unpleasant attacker.
Hopefully the nice clothing the child wore meant she had someone to take care of her, and was not in need of shelter. It was one of Dragon’s principles to help those in need -it would not bring peace to the world to ignore those suffering in it- but he had a mission to focus on.
He’d come to this island in the hopes of tracking down the unidentified vendor of the strange masks some of his subordinates had begun sporting recently. It wasn’t an urgent matter, and it didn’t seem to be dangerous, but Dragon had the suspicion the masks were born out of an unnatural power, likely a devil fruit ability, and that they were not entirely harmless. Call it intuition, if you will.
There wouldn’t be any problem if his theories were wrong, and the masks were truly harmless in nature, but there was a nagging feeling in the back of his mind that this was not the case. For the masks to be of innocent and harmless origin, to not procure any harm on neither the wearer or the maker, yet grant powerful abilities without any additional disadvantages, sounded too good to be true. After what he’d lived through, Dragon knew better than to take things like these at face value.
At the moment, he was supposed to be looking for an individual with a blue scarf, one who, according to his intel, would deliver one of the masks to a client at this island and time. It would no doubt turn out to be a lower subordinate of the mask business, but it might be a decent place to grab a hold of some information regarding the unidentified leader of the scheme.
The leader of this mask scheme was strange… First of all, it was uncommon for his revolutionaries to find themselves unable to track down such an apparently unremarkable individual, and then for the person behind this to have such carefulness so as to not reveal anything, anywhere… Human greed was a disgusting thing, but a real one. People always wanted recognition, and the power that came with it. To lead a scheme that involved even the Four Emperors, but not claim the title and power that such a thing inferred? It was suspicious.
“…”
As he considered these facts, he noticed the child in front of him was wearing a blue scarf, just like his target. Could there be a connection…?
No, the evening was quite windy, and it wasn’t odd for a child to wrap themselves in something warm in such weather. It wasn’t an unusual accessory, and to accuse them of such immediately would be irrational.
But perhaps this wicked scheme was using children as their workers… He’d need to keep an eye out for this kid, in case she really was his target.
“Are you in need of help, child?” Dragon asked, ignoring the repeated question. “This is not a safe place for you. I have things I need to do, but if you seek shelter or safety I know some suitable places.”
Maybe she shouldn’t have said anything. It would have been way smarter if she just...tried to follow him. That would require no conversation and she wouldn’t have had to deal with any spare consequences of say...some guy who might be the leader of the Revolutionaries knowing of her existence! And seemed to be rather focused on her entirely now...
The itching suspicion that this wasn’t just some wannabe, that this was the real Dragon. That didn’t seem good, honestly...Why was he here?? Mian Ju was digging through her own brain as she watched him, was there any information about this island about why someone like him would be here? Why anyone would be here?? Aside from her client...But that wasn’t for a bit, that was completely unrelated! What could it be...She didn’t like the idea that her business was intersecting with the activities of revolutionaries.
Then came what he actually said...She wasn’t a child! She was practically an adult. Just look at all the achievements she had done! There was no way around it, a simple child couldn’t do what she did every day! She grimaced, the mink’s smile however small it was already completely fading.
“ I’m not a child. ”
Wow--did she just talk back to the leader of the Revolutionaries??? Mian Ju twitched a little then huffed, maybe it wasn’t even- It couldn’t be...There was no way that this was actually...
“ Er...No I’m fine, it’s not even dangerous here. ”
It was a simple island, not too many threats...Unless- Was the reason the Revolutionaries were here--assuming there were multiple--was because there was a danger?? Was there a danger?? Mian Ju didn’t visually make any adjustments, aside from a tiny glint in her eyes of a growing paranoia. He had things to do, she needed to figure out what. If she figured out what then she wouldn’t have that paranoia-
“ No need for that shelter stuff... ”
Ugh why was she even wasting her time now. She was just drawing more attention to herself and what a horrible trick that was. Mian Ju glanced down, she was tapping her hoof to the ground. If this kept up, would her client be deterred? Maybe she should just notify him that she will have to deliver the mask later...She hated doing that...
Tomorrow.
@jaiguilian requested a starter.
It wasn’t every day that Drake came across teenagers while on his travelers, but there was something about this one in particular that gave him pause. Perhaps it was the feeling–the vibe–he got from them. He couldn’t quite describe it, but there was something there. It was odd, but the teenager didn’t seem as though they weren’t being well taken care of. Well, at least, they looked clean and fairly well fed.
Now, Drake had seen several people that he didn’t know on Wano, but he couldn’t be certain as to why she stood out. He wondered idly if he should approach from where he was which was leaning up against a building, but she was still a young teen and there was no real reason to approach her.
Humming underneath his breath, his arms crossed as he simply kept an eye on her.
Of course she had noticed the person staring at her from the distance. However subtle it was or tried to be. Perhaps a flaw at times when she was trying to relax, but surely a benefit now...She was always trying to stay aware of people looking at her, of watching her. If anyone was following her after a business transaction that would surely be a horrid mistake. If that were to happen, she had to stay in disguise for longer and longer and keep up her act completely. Of course this was an edge case. She wasn’t in a guise, she could act mostly like herself...Yet she wasn’t just here to relax. She had a delivery tomorrow, a delivery to Onigashima. Something she did not too often, but enough to that some people that were privy to the mini island were at least aware of her, or Rosethorn, a lionfish fishman that she often delivered as while here...
Despite that, she had taken the time and decided to visit the mainland rather than just staying in that drunk mosh pit of a skull island for once. And what would she find? Someone watching her! But who was it...? Many people...Actually quite a few people were giving her looks. Yet the one that stuck out the most was the tall and more significant figure. Without a second thought, Mian Ju stared directly back at him and with a wide smile spoke.
“ Looking at something, sir?~ I’m not supposed to be delivering till tomorrow! Was there a change in the schedullee?~ ”
A more outward approach. Surely he was aware of his higher ups business with the little mask business, right? It would be funny if he wasn’t...
Impel Down.
Was the stranger hesitant to join her for an adventure in a place filled with sinners? Sinithra wouldn’t judge if she was. Not many enjoyed the screams and insults the prisoners throw at whoever walks past. Not to mention how dangerous some of them were even while locked up.
A light chuckle left the pale one’s lips. “My favorite is the lowest level, no freezing to death or burning to death, but I might get in trouble bringing a stranger there without permission...” The last part of her words were muttered to herself as she gave a slight smile to the stranger.
“It’s hard to decide… Would you prefer heat, the cold, dry or spiky?” What a silly way to describe things. “Or perhaps see the beasts that might try to devour you?” She added.
“ Really... ”
Mian Ju murmured. What was the lowest level? She hadn’t a clue...It was interesting, although how much trouble would she get in? This jailer seemed to imply that at least she would get in trouble, but what about her? The guest that’s going to be paid? Would they threaten her? She didn’t want to deal with that...Ooh but her curiosity was so heavy weighing...Mian Ju tapped her finger against her scarf, readjusting the blue fabric.
“ Beasts! Oh I love seeing new beasts... ”
Maybe she could take a face- No that was stupid, not doing it in front of someone. If one of them just randomly collapsed into a coma that would surely cause a commotion and the mink would be the first suspect. She was sure...But what if there was a dragon- Mian Ju’s smile widened somewhat.
“ Maybe we...go see the beasts...and then go to that lowest level you liked?~ ”
Mian Ju loves the fame, loves the attention, loves all of it...And yet she still finds herself unable to allow herself to ever be the one to get it all. Yes, she is technically the one receiving all the attention with every mask she delivers and every time her business seems to grow in popularity...But she still sees herself as vulnerable, as weak. She could so easily fall with the flick of a dime if she isn’t careful. Mian Ju isn’t sure if she could ever reveal herself willingly, and isn’t even sure that if she wanted to suddenly end the business she could. What happens if this huge business suddenly stops? Would people go looking for her? For her workers? She wouldn’t be able to use the identities she used because those were workers, and people remembered faces, didn’t they? Even her own identity was known as a simple deliverer, she could do nothing. She had no way out of it, and in a way that scares her. Still, the rush of adrenaline she gets from taking people’s faces, from meeting people she would never have the opportunity to...
Most Wanted.
Unprompted
The man turned around, sparing a glance towards the child that called his attention. He hadn’t expected someone to notice him as he lurked in the shadows of alleys to get around the crowded city, his current mission at the forefront of his mind. Who was this child? Why was she calling out to him?
“…”
Could it be she was in need of help? She seemed to be a mink, and their race was often looked down upon by ignorant scum. He wouldn’t be surprised to hear she was in a rough spot at the moment.
It wouldn’t do for a child to be alone in a dangerous place like this, in any case.
“…What is it?” he asked, granting her his full attention.
Mian Ju often spent a while getting early to jobs and then waiting for her client to arrive. It was apart of the job when it wasn’t a huge sequence or travel like whenever she went to Wano or any government base. Nonetheless, she often found herself standing the dark, just...staring out and watching people. Noticing some familiar, some not. When she had been so many places, it became easy to pick out people that she had seen before. And even easier for those she sought out. Let it be consciously or not.
Now on occasion, she had worked with a certain Revolutionary group, but it was nothing huge, not at all. In fact she suspected the organization as a whole would never outright hire the masks’ services. Individuals were the ones to catch wind of her, hardly the uppers...But that didn’t mean she didn’t know about those in the ranks of the Revolutionary Army. From wanted posters to rambles she heard through her works with the marines...Yet what she surely wasn’t expecting, was to see not only a cloak reminiscent of some of the revolutionaries...but a glimpse of that tattoo. She couldn’t help but to call out. Though she immediately pressed her lips shut and went silent when the man actually turned to look and even answer.
“ You... ”
Eyes briefly wide, then she squinted, somewhat suspiciously. There was no way that the most famous wanted person alive was just...walking around this place. It was a minor town on a far off island. It would be stupid. Or maybe there was business with that army here?? She hadn’t heard of anything...Maybe she needed to look more into it. It could be a wannabe...A fake. That wouldn’t surprise her, and she’d never seen the man in the flesh before. Only wanted posters...
“ Who are you- ”
She asked again. Did he mishear her question? Then again if someoned asked her that question, she wouldn’t answer and would also divert. But that was purposeful...This man just seemed dumb. A bit. Which wasn’t what she would expect from who she thought it might be. More evidence that it wasn’t...
