jake looked around as the small, blue haired girl addressed him, he pointed at himself confusedly, “are you talking to me?” he asked, no one else around that she could have been talking to. “if you have a hammer and some nails, i can make you an actual mailbox,” he cocked his head as he looked at her creation, “but i’m not so good with all of the... that,” he circled his hand in front of her letterbox referring to the overall craftiness and aesthetic of it. “i don’t think i’m really your guy for this.”

As Jenna heard his voice she could see every line on him and it felt like she was thirteen again with the crush on the boy who she felt like would do anything “j-jake is that really you” she rolled her eyes and laughed “no I just decided to wander around a random school” she playfully hit arm “ still the same doofus” she teased the boy “but jake what are you doing here? when did you get here? how? why?” Jenna couldn’t wipe the smile off her face this would really be her year.
Hearing her voice confirmed that she really was there and that his weed hadn’t been laced with some crazy ass hallucinogens. Jake reached over and pinched his own arm, “yep, pretty sure it’s me,” he told her with a chuckle, still amazed that he was at the same school as her. “right, right,” he nodded, “you just missed me so much after all these years, you had to follow me here,” he joked, “i’m just too irresistible for my own good,” he added with a teasing grin. the rapid fire questions bombarded him and his smoke addled mind took a second to process all of it, “my dad remarried, so i go here now. and i have a sister,” he paused, “technically two, but the other ran away to africa or something,” he explained with a shrug.

As Jenna finally got her belongings un packed she decided to go on a walk, the one thing she wanted to avoid was running into Drew, the fact that they left semester on such a sour note made her stomach turn. Jenna knew of one place she could go, one place that not even her closest friends knew about she found it when she was in grade nine. As she started to head over she saw someone coming down the corridor. Jenna felt like she was in a dream was that Jake Martin standing in front of her, it couldn’t be she hadn’t seen him in four years. Jenna tried to get a word out but nothing came out she felt as though her entire body entered shock.
Jake made his way through the buildings, trying to get used to the campus before the first day of classes started. He was sure he’d later make a habit of being late or skipping altogether, but he figured he should at least try to be on time the first week or so. Looking between his schedule and the hallway doors, he was honestly confused about where exactly he had ended up. Starting a totally new school for senior year was decidedly hell. He looked up and was sure he must have fully lost his mind because the familiar blonde was one he hadn’t seen in what felt like a lifetime. “Jenna?” he asked, taking a few steps closer to the assumed mirage, “You go here?” his brow furrowed as he looked between his paper and the girl that he had once been closer to than anyone else.

After Katie got her room assignment she looked down at the sheet, she let out a sigh of relief the one thing that kept Katie up at night was a chance that she would have to room with Bianca DeSousa just the thought made her skin crawl. Katie took a deep breathe this was a new year and one thing that she knew was that she needed to leave all of that with grade eleven Katie. As Katie was hurrying, Katie knew everyone at Degrassi but there was a face that she did not know. If Katie was honest with herself this man was very attractive, but Katie would not allow herself to go there not after what happened with her professor and then with Dallas. “Are you lost” Katie spat out trying not to show how attracted she was to this new guy.
Degrassi was unlike anything Jake had imagined. Not only was it a boarding school that he would stay at regardless of much else, but it also made him feel like an outcast. Never in his life had he dealt with people ignoring him, but as he walked the halls, a map in his hands, he realized that some things would never be the same. “Oh?” He looked back down at his map when he heard someone address him, but when he looked back to her, he was momentarily shocked by her beauty, “Yeah,” he said, “I mean, no.” he shook his head, “Just,” he looked around at everything, “Just a little turned around, I guess. I’m Jake, by the way.”

As Jake got older he started to realize his mother was not doing well, and she was loosing her hair. Jake did not understand what was going on but he was going to do anything that he could to be there for his mother in this hard time. She always told me just give me your love and that’s all I need from you. A few months went by and his mother passed away of stage four breast cancer, and it seemed like it destroyed his father. His father would barely leave the house, overdue bills were flooded in and Jake didn’t know what he could do to help his family in this crisis.
☛ A year went by and Jake was now in grade 11, he had a life in this small town, his friends, a girlfriend it seemed like his life was perfect until his girlfriend told him that she was pregnant. Jake told her that he would be there for her, and started working saving up for the baby until she told him that it wasn’t his. She lied to him she felt as though she was ruining Jake’s life and wanted to raise this baby without him Jake was devasted. Jake soon learned that his father was going back and forth from Toronto because he was dating a women that he dated in high school, and they were getting married, and Jake was now getting sent to the same boarding school as her daughter. ✉ At a new school Jake is trying to hide that there was even a possibility that he was so reckless to think that he got someone pregnant to think that was almost his reality, and he got it taken away is heartbreaking.
✉ Jake feels like an outcast at this new school he is not an elite kid, he did not grow up with the newest toys, or the best clothes, he is a small town boy and that is all. The only reason he is here is because his father married rich, not because they are rich, being elite is not something that you can marry into.
