Daisy May

My silly billy bard tiefling. I love her with my whole silly heart

Daisy May grew up in big, always traveling family with many siblings. Daisy may, the third oldest child was a mostly happy child who really enjoyed spending time with her family. The family was part of a traveling carnival, which Daisy May adored being a part of, and she was good at it too, never failing to put a smile on visitors faces.

Her parents were generally decent people, but Daisy May always suspected that they never truly loved any of their kids. They clearly loved the carnival, devoting their entire life to it, and the kids were clearly helping with that.. but that was really all they were to them. “Assets to the carnival”. Despite that, Daisy May didn’t mind all that much. Her parents were never aggressive or evil towards her, so she could live with it. She had more than enough siblings to love.

At 14 years old, Daisy May heard news of the Witchlight Carnival arriving and she really wanted to go. Her parents forbade her, and while Daisy May was never a very disobedient child (just a chaotically clumsy one) despite that, the Witchlight Carnival just called to her. She snuck out at night and apparently, not having a ticket didn’t stop her either. She snuck in, and due to this… was cursed and lost.

You know what messes me up?

This dinosaur skeleton is incomplete. But, it doesn't look that way to us, because the parts it's missing are parts we don't have.

See how there are ribs on the bottom? Those are called gastralia. That's right, dinosaurs had ribs on their stomachs as well, and modern crocodiles and alligators still have them! (Also, notice that the ribs keep going to the hips instead of stopping above the waist. This is also true of modern birds, and why a bird can't have a concave stomach!)

Next, notice that ring floating in the center of the eye socket? That's called a sclerotic ring! Fish, reptiles, birds--with the exception of mammals (and, oddly enough, crocodilians), pretty much all modern vertebrates still have them! It's literally an eyeball bone. Afaik we haven't found a T-rex specimen with any intact, but since we've found them in other dinosaurs, it's very likely they had them too.

So, keep that in mind next time you see a dinosaur skeleton.
