British Museum colludes with pro-Israel lobby to erase Palestine from historical exhibits —— An investigation by Middle East Eye has exposed the British Museum for covertly removing the terms “Palestine,” “Palestinian,” and “Israeli occupation” from its historical displays following intensive lobbying by pro-Israel activists. Internal emails obtained via a freedom of information request reveal that the London institution rapidly altered descriptions of artifacts dating back to 7,500 BCE to appease political pressure groups, including the Board of Deputies of British Jews and high-profile figures. While museum director Nick Cullinan publicly claimed the changes were part of a standard curation refresh and backed by audience testing, the newly released disclosures confirm that no visitor research regarding the term "Palestine" was ever conducted. The internal correspondence details a frantic effort by museum staff to pacify complaints lodged between October and December 2024, with one directive explicitly ordering curators to remain hyper-conscious of the anniversary of 7 October. In one instance, a panel describing ancient rulers of “Palestinian descent” was scrubbed and changed to “Canaanite origin” within five hours of receiving a complaint from the Board of Deputies. Middle East Eye cross-referenced the redacted emails to identify key lobbyists, including right-wing commentators and historians who weaponized access to the museum's leadership to argue that historical references to an ancient Israelite occupation would stoke modern antisemitism. The targeted erasure has sparked a severe diplomatic and cultural backlash, with Palestinian Ambassador to the UK Husam Zumlot accusing the public institution of betraying its historical integrity to serve political ends. Cultural figures and human rights defenders have condemned the museum for complicity in what the United Nations classifies as an ongoing genocide in Gaza, noting that the bureaucratic deletion of Palestinian history in London directly mirrors the physical destruction of heritage sites on the ground. Despite photographic evidence showing that references to "modern Palestine" were replaced with "Gaza and the West Bank" at gallery entrances, the British Museum has refused to answer specific inquiries, issuing a blanket denial to Middle East Eye that any erasure took place.
All of the earliest G1 ponies and ponywear came with stickers, and they can be very hard to find. Somehow I’ve hung on to the ‘Clown & Bathrobe’ sticker for all of these years.
Supergirl was really good and fun… imagine how good it’d be if if it were directed by a woman 😔❤️🩹

Okay I want to properly put down my thoughts about Supergirl!

Firstly, all the positives, I think it was really fun to watch. The sets felt very believable and lived-in. I loved all the cool alien designs. Milly Alcock is a fantastic Supergirl, I love this version of her with all my heart, I think she does consistently fantastic. I also really like Janson Momoa’s Lobo, even though I think he was a pretty usless in this movie I'm hype to see him in later projects where he has a little more to do.
I really really liked that Ruthye didn’t fight through the whole thing. I like that she felt like a tough, strong-willed capable child, but still a child. She wasn't some bad ass warrior, and she could not have done this mission alone, no matter how determined she was. It felt very real and correct.
Also I liked all the silly needledrops. The last fight was goofy but ill be honest I had a big smile on my face the whole scene, it was definitely dumb but me personally I like dumb.
The movie did have its issues though. I think the villian was proformed well, he had a good presence, he was intimidating, but also he felt a little generic. I wish he had had more of a connection to Supergirl atlest thematically. The dialogue wasn't always the best, my sense of humor is pretty selective, so your mileage may vary, but I personally rarely found this movie funny when it was trying to be.
I also think Kara and Ruthye didnt bond enough, they don't really get any scenes where they connect, and I think the fact that Kara just left her on pedo planet felt very weird. like atlest take her to a bus stop or something, her abandoning Ruthye to continue the mission herself was totally fine, but I’d like to think Kara would atlest want to make sure she's somewhere safe first.
The green sun felt weirdly implemented, and kinda like a convenient MacGuffin, I think it could have been cut. Not to script doctor but if they wanted Ruthye to be alone to get captured and Kara to struggle I think after Kara left Ruthye she should have figured out where the briggens were herself and Kara could have struggled to find it. So Ruthye busts in too early, proving she needed Kara, and Kara almost misses her chance to save Kyoto because she's going at the search wrong, proving she needs Ruthye. Idk, not a perfect fix, but I don't think the way the green sun is is very good.
All in all it was a good, fun time, which is the main thing I'm looking for with a superhero movie. I am very excited to see where Supergirl gose form here in the DCU and all the losers celebrating this movies underserved flopping are just being over harsh nerds. Supergirl till I die mother fuckers
7/10
Kara being the drunk angel on Ruthye’s shoulder while Lobo is the cool devil on her other shoulder.
Dorks
I know nothing about the comic Supergirl is based on or the themes it carried over from the comic aside from what I've seen folks mention, but I keep seeing stuff like how Lobo was cool but ultimately pointless as a character.
Lobo was actually very important to the movie as a foil to Kara in Ruthye's arc. He is not on the same level as them as a protagonist, but he needs to be established as a character early enough to give his presence some weight.
Because the real meat of his presence in the movie is his conversation with Ruthye where she says Krem killed her family for no reason, "for sport", and then Lobo calls that a reason. And then talks about how he kills for money. He's outright enthusiastic about the potential of her becoming a killer herself while Kara doesn't want that for her.
For Kara, no reason, not even revenge, is enough for Ruthye to carry the weight of taking a life, but for Lobo, who views sport or money as good enough of one no matter how superficial, revenge is definitely enough.
That's also why he was witness to the final scene with Krem. Because of what he represents in her arc, he needed to see Ruthye walk away from the path he wanted her to take and choose Kara's. And he needed to see Kara do the final blow because of what Kara represents: being good but not nice. She may take this life and carry that with her, but it still won't make her anything like him.
clinically obsessed with her
shes the moment
love that the supergirl movie confirms that kryptonians aren’t weird ubermensch fascists and clark’s parents were just weird. Like they were just Scientologists or something
Kara who saw her parents wither away. Kara who carries the grief of an entire planet. Kara who doesn't share that grief with her cousin, because she thinks he could never understand. Kara who holds Krypto like her heart, because he is the only piece of her Krypton that is still alive. Kara who will tarnish her soul so Ruthye doesn't have to. Kara who has every reason to scream, cry and break things, but chooses to stay and make Earth her home because she also has many reasons to find again the happiness she lost. That is a Kara that I love.
Doodle because I'm excited to see Supergirl next week or whatever...
I just love how Supergirl isn't really about the revenge or the dog or anything that goes on at all. Its about two grieving girls trying to keep going in diffrent ways and teaching each other how to survive with the weight of it all while also inspiring each other to be better people. Its about not letting your past overtake your future. Its about prioritizing yourself instead of being fuled by your trauma. Its about being good no matter what.
Look I don't think Supergirl (2026) is secretly a perfect masterpiece or anything (I personally thought it was like. a 6/10 fun time) but I do think it's wild that Tumblr isn't going crazy for it because this Kara is one coattailed suit away from being a Tumblr sexyman. she is the flawed messy female character people have supposedly been clamouring for. she's the popular archetype of a gruff self-destructive alcoholic middle-aged man begrudgingly having to look after a kid and growing fond of them but genderswapped and also 23. she's allowed to be visibly messy and kind of gross and her hair is constantly all over the place and she literally cries, screams, throws up, and pisses onscreen. she's caustic and mean and puts up an act of carelessness but has a heart of gold. she's heavily traumatised and coping with it terribly. if anything happens to her dog she will kill everyone in this room and then herself. she spends most of the movie in a trench coat and baggy band T-shirt. she gets into bar brawls and breaks a guy's hand. she is Going Through It 24/7 and looks the part. she stabs a guy in the throat. how is everyone else not obsessed with her.
